That last thread filled up quickly without us noticing. So here is a new one for Scotland.

@LT103 that's a great line! My lines for my baby girl were so faint I was convinced I was having a chemical. Especially when I compared to my boy. I tested multiple times a day for a week then decided to stop testing because it was sending my head in a spin. She is a perfectly healthy 5 month old now. Please try not to worry x

LT103 · 03/11/2024 22:26

@itsmschanandlerbong thats reassuring to hear. I haven’t tested again yet somehow. Plan is to test tomorrow as it’s OTD and I have bloods later in morning but won’t get results til Tuesday

2mumlife · 04/11/2024 06:27

@LT103 Sending you positive vibes for today x

@itsmschanandlerbong How is your LO already 5 months!!!! That’s flown by! Hope you’re all doing well

LT103 · 04/11/2024 13:44

@2mumlife thanks. Another positive today but only slight progression from 3 days ago so I’m still worried. Had bloods and will get results tomorrow so 🤞🤞

2mumlife · 05/11/2024 10:51

@LT103 Hope you get good news today.

itsmschanandlerbong · 05/11/2024 19:47

@2mumlife I know, the time is flying by! How are you all doing?

itsmschanandlerbong · 05/11/2024 19:48

@LT103 finger crossed everything is ok today 🤞🏻🤞🏻

LT103 · 05/11/2024 20:32

@itsmschanandlerbong @2mumlife thank you for the good wishes.
Not the best news today. My hcg was 160 but this was 13dp5dt and they want it to be over 210 so I’m back tomorrow for another sample then need to wait til Thursday on results of that. Then they’ll decide whether to book a scan or not.

I’ve had a cycle with low/slow rising hcg before which ended in an empty sac so I’m fully expecting this to go the same way. I have another pregnancy test to check tomorrow and see if like looks any darker so I can manage my expectations. Just need to try and think positively

2mumlife · 05/11/2024 23:42

@LT103 Im sorry blood hcg didn’t give a clearer result. Keeping everything crossed that this end up viable 🤞🤞

@itsmschanandlerbong Tired but good xxx

IVFlife · 07/11/2024 07:19

Hey. Not really been on. Will catch up.

It's 2 months since I miscarried and my HCG is still up. I'm off for my 4th Follow up hcg test today.

It's dropping but ridiculously slow. It's so slow that we now can't do treatment before Christmas

OP posts:
Nosejug · 07/11/2024 07:45

@LT103 sorry to read it's not been a straightforward start. Will be hoping for you that hcg starts to rise fast. I have read that it can sometimes just be a slower to rise. Fingers crossed.

@IVFlife that must be so so frustrating. Is it still very high or lowering at borderline levels?

I've been testing every second day to see if ovulation might happen but my tests all come back blaring positives because of hcg. I'm assuming ovulation won't happen while it's still high, but I got so anxious the other day and my partner (he offered!) travelled 350 miles to dtd (I'm away for training atm)

Consultants meeting tomorrow where they'll discuss my case, then I'll know what's next for us ivf wise. I think the clinic shutdown will mean treatment after Christmas for us too.

2mumlife · 07/11/2024 10:02

@IVFlife That must be incredibly frustrating. I guess try to enjoy Christmas as much as you can in the meantime.

@Nosejug Im impressed with your partners dedication! Hope you get some clear answers after meeting consultant

Nosejug · 07/11/2024 10:43

Me too @2mumlife ! He’s a keeper :)

LT103 · 07/11/2024 13:03

@IVFlife that is so frustrating. 2 months seems such a long time

weve not had great news. Hcg was 160 on Monday (they wanted over 210) then 250 on Wednesday so not doubling. Been here before and it dragged on for weeks and diagnosed with empty sac and eventually referred to EPU for surgical management.
im back in for bloods Monday but not holding out much hope

Nosejug · 14/11/2024 21:16

Hey @LT103 really sorry it's not been good news so far. How did Monday's bloods go? Hoping you got some hopeful news.

I'm just about testing negative, boobs are starting to hurt so period round the corner, and another round re-approved so will be attempting to book (if they're still open for bookings, I know they close for cleaning or whatever). I've decided I'm going to have a couple of glasses of wine this Christmas and I'm going to look forward to them for a month! As I've heard of increased fertility after miscarriage I don't feel quite so downtrodden as usual by further waiting.

Hope everyone is alright x

LT103 · 14/11/2024 23:36

@Nosejug thT sounds a plan. I’ve said the same about just relaxing and having a nice Xmas then back again in new year.

we’re still stuck in a cycle of bloods. Mondays was 540 and then I was back on wed and had gone up to 570 so def plateauing. I’m back again this Monday and have to continue cyclogest til then. They’ve said they reckon it’s only thing stopping me having a bleed so they think once I stop it I will do. Hoping this happens and I don’t need to be referred to EPU again.

Nosejug · 15/11/2024 08:04

@LT103 did they give you a scan or anything? If I get pregnant again the EPU said they’d scan me at 3 weeks to check things were in the right place. So if there’s something to see maybe it’d be good to know. Hoping you get a solid answer whichever way soon. The waiting around in an unhopeful limbo is so draining.

LT103 · 17/11/2024 07:27

Last time this happened I got a scan at 7weeks. But they think that as soon as I stop progesterone I’ll have a bleed so I think will get scan if that doesn’t happen.
knowing that it isn’t going to go anywhere, I just want this over now so we can move on

2mumlife · 19/11/2024 17:17

@LT103 I’m sorry you’re having to go through this again, it’s not fair. I hope you can get some clear answers so it doesn’t drag on.

@Nosejug Your plan sounds good. Are you testing negative now?

Nosejug · 19/11/2024 18:24

@2mumlife yes, and got my period right after testing negative. We’ve actually now booked in for ivf (long protocol so won’t be doing daily injections till the new year). Glad we got booked in, but I suppose I hoped we could get lucky with the “fertile after MC” rumour. Strangely feeling sadder about the mc the further away it is, maybe just the reality of having been pregnant fading. Anyway, got to keep going.

Hope you’re excited about 1st Christmas with the wee one!!! I’m still managing some good cheer despite everything.

@LT103 how are things? Have you had any answers? Hope you’re alright

LT103 · 19/11/2024 19:13

@2mumlife thanks. Hope you’re settling in to your new routine with 2!
@Nosejug not much further on. Had hcg bloods twice a week for last 2 weeks. It was 540 then 570 so plateauing. Now it’s 680. But nowhere near what it should be and apparently under 1000 it’s pointless scanning as likely won’t see anything.
I’ve stopped cyclogest today in hope that t rings on a bleed and I’m back next Monday for more bloods. This will be the 4th Monday morning in a row I’ve had to take off work which is really frustrating. My bosses have been great but I need it all to end now. It’s really inconvenient for work and really not fun for me. Hoping it does go on its own. Last time I ended up needing referred

Cesas · 08/12/2024 10:36

Sorry to hear that some of you have been having a hard time. Hopefully you are managing to look after yourselves especially over this Christmas period. Hoping that 2025 will be a better year!

I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with further testing after failed implantation? I've had 2 failed transfers, and I know I'm not at this stage yet but I was wondering if the NHS does any more testing and at what stage they would do this? I'm aware that it might be a case of having to go private for more investigations though!

Nosejug · 20/12/2024 07:18

Hey @Cesas sorry I just saw your message, I don't have any experience of that but maybe someone else on here does?

@LT103 I hope very much that what you were going through has resolved. How are you doing?

Is anyone else booked in for a cycle? I'm due to start topping up my prostrap on boxing day and to start stims around New Year's Eve. Accidentally left the buserlin in the car while travelling for training and it was -3 outside! I've to go in to Glasgow on Monday for a replacement 🫣

Hope everyone's enjoying the Christmas period as best they can

IVFlife · 24/12/2024 19:49

Hey not posted for ages. Got really fed up with my HCG taking over 2 months to finally get to less than 5! I have then done 1 full month on my own normal HRT and I've now just come off that and am waiting for a bleed.

If that's happened by time clinic opens I'll phone them on 27th. I have all meds and am ready to go.

I pushed for some blood tests for sticky blood and I had some done at clinic and some at Ross Hall. The results of these have come back that my IgG anticardiolipin levels are raised. So consultant has suggested heparin injections from the day of embryo transfer. So will be doing that.

How is everyone else? I hope you are all able to enjoy some time over the Christmas hols.

@Nosejug I'm due to transfer around 13th Jan (is my guess of a date anyway) but that's a FET.

@Cesas what have clinic said about the 2 implantation failures? Are they coming back with any suggestions to change?
