@LT103 hope the transfer went well, Are you in the 2 week wait now?

@Cesas did you get booked in?

@IVFlife good luck with the scan. How many weeks are you now?

IVFlife · 17/02/2025 20:33

7+4 today and graduated from fertility clinic. Lots of happy tears. Couldn't believe it when she said was a heartbeat

Amazing news @IVFlife so happy for you ❤️

Cesas · 17/02/2025 21:10

@IVFlife aww congrats! You'll be so chuffed!

@nosejug yes we managed to get booked in this month! Transfer is this Sunday coming! 🤞 they took my call when my period arrived on the friday but had to wait until the Wed after to find our if I was in our not. How are you doing? X

KayEmmSquared · 18/02/2025 08:54

I had my baseline scan and collected my meds yesterday at GRI, start stims tomorrow, fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Nosejug · 18/02/2025 10:18

Ah wow! So much positive news! Really happy for you @IVFlife ! That wee heartbeat! I can't imagine how good that'd feel.

Amazing @Cesas ! Transfer so soon! You must have been on quite a short protocol? Or has time flowed quicker than my braintype can comprehend... How was it all? Best of luck with the transfer. It's quite an amazing moment.

Excellent @KayEmmSquared what's your protocol? I actually really like the stims part of ivf. Just lots of hope in being proactive. And getting an insight into your body. Best of luck

I think (even though I had spotting about 5 days ago and got really excited) that af has arrived super early today. I feel like crap and pretty low. Just gonna try do some nice things for myself and try not to wallow.

KayEmmSquared · 18/02/2025 10:35

Protocol 9, highest doses of everything so no room to manoeuvre if I don’t respond well but keeping positive that I will respond and it’s not a problem! Stick with your plan @Nosejug it happened the last time and I’m keeping everything crossed for you this time too!

Cesas · 18/02/2025 20:22

@kayemmsquared good luck! You'll be glad to finally be started. What stims are you on? My clinic said I was on the highest stims but people on here were definitely on higher than me which was strange!

@nosejug Yeah it's a natural FET as I was lucky to freeze 2 so my transfer will be on day 17 of my cycle. My cycles arent that long thankfully! It's my third transfer so a bit nervous, trying to stay positive! 🤞 I always feel worse round my period so not surprised you are feeling like that! Hopefully in a few days you will feel a bit better it's so difficult though! X

KayEmmSquared · 18/02/2025 21:42

@Cesas I took Prostap on the 5th to down reg and tomorrow I start Gonal F 375ui and Luveris 75ui every AM.

Good Luck for Sunday 🤞🏻

LT103 · 19/02/2025 14:38

@IVFlife amazing news

@Nosejug just had negative test unfortunately so discussing what to do. They’ve said to stop pessaries and offered me to go again off this bleed so we might go straight back for another transfer 😬

Nosejug · 19/02/2025 16:12

I was on exactly the same @KayEmmSquared Good luck getting started! I actually had no side effects (imho!) despite them being so high. Hopefully you'll be the same :) there's a luveris video online where the woman says "good job" after going through stuff. I enjoyed that!

@LT103 ah wow so you have some ready to go. It must make such a difference. I'm really sorry your test was negative, I hope this next one is your one. So good you can go straight away as well.

@Cesas wow, so good having two ready to go. Did you do any kind of testing? If/when we do this 3 cycle thing it'll mean freezing anything that'll survive rather than transferring and someone recommended me to test them. I dunno about it... Ich I can imagine the nerves after three unsuccessful transfers. Do you do any calming techniques? My sister sent me things she gives to dental patients for relaxation but tbh I never ended up doing it. Just channelled the best positivity I could.

I'm feeling already better since yesterday. I woke at 4 again but weirdly had slept so much better, went for a dark spooky walk in the woods hah.

mrsnlr · 19/02/2025 22:20

Hello all. I'm new here and very early in the process at Glasgows ACS! I hope it's okay to see if anyone has any experience to help answer a question I have...
We have been diagnosed as unexplained infertility and have been referred for a Hycosy. We've been told the waiting list for this is currently quite long but that we need it before they'll decide what treatment (and waiting list) is best.

I am considering getting the hycosy done private at the GCRM and take this back to ACS. They have said they'll accept the results but still a bit nervous about doing this. Jusst wondered if anyone has any experience/advice on going private for a/this test to inform NHS treatment?

Nosejug · 20/02/2025 08:39

Hey @mrsnlr I had to have a "test of cure" smear that had a long waiting list. I made sure they would accept the results first (which you've done) and then handed them in. All was fine. One hairy moment when we'd gone in for first prostrap injection and the nurse was like, this won't be accepted. I was like, no, I checked. So she went to check with someone else and it was fine.

I must say, there were a couple of those kind of moments at gri where I was repeatedly told something that I knew couldn't be right (like I had to wait 3 months for a consultant appointment after my miscarriage) that actually wasn't true at all (after much heartwrending and hair pulling). So just be absolutely sure they accept it. I think also they were unhappy with the wording of something on the private test so I had to get it changed? But that also went fine in the end. Nobody has your back better than you (and us).

mrsnlr · 20/02/2025 22:10

Thanks so much @Nosejug that's really reassuring. I keep going round in circles trying to make a decision so very much appreciate your advice.

Cesas · 22/02/2025 08:51

@nosejug no I haven't tested any of them. I'm not sure what my thoughts on that are. I'd need to do more research before deciding if we would do that in the future. I have been doing that! It's ny first frozen transfer so feel like my body is in a bit of a better position than the last two times.

@lt103 I'm sorry to hear about your negative test. Hope you period comes soon and you are doing okay! That's so quick to go again! What clinic are you with?

@kayemmsquared thank you! That's quite a difference protocol from what I was on. Hopefully it will be successful for you!

Nosejug · 24/02/2025 18:17

oh boy, well I was quite sure I was at the end of the funded part of my journey, but i thiiink we may get funding for donor ivf. I'll find out more soon. I have studied and studied the internet and my mind (and heart) on the subject, and although I still don't know the answer, the overriding feeling is joy. Only thing is there are no donors heh. Just thought I'd share here as there's nowhere else I can really say it just now.

Cesas · 24/02/2025 21:35

@nosejug fingers crossed for you! Hopefully you will get the funding and you'll be able to find a donor! I'm not sure how it all really works!

Nosejug · 24/02/2025 22:17

Thanks @Cesas :) we’re probably going to self fund this last attempt with my own eggs no matter what (if nhs are ok with us doing that).

how you getting on??

LT103 · 04/03/2025 13:44

@Cesas were with GCRM. Opted for back to back transfers partly to get back into it and partly to avoid the price increases haha.

first lining scan was yesterday and another tomorrow. I think transfer will prob be tues or wed next week

IVFlife · 05/03/2025 05:59

@Nosejug is that donor egg ivf? Can't remember what hosp you are but my understanding is the Royal has about 70 people on wait list but only gets a few donors a year. But they do have a relationship with a Spanish clinic for self funded at Royal. But then there's the different anonymity laws in Spain to consider. Paths to Parenthub is good for donor egg chat.

@LT103 good luck for transfer next week! Have they suggested anything different?

Nosejug · 05/03/2025 06:33

@IVFlife yeah had a disappointing call with them yesterday that basically there's no point in putting me on the waitlist as I'll be too old for funding by the time it's my turn. Wish I hadn't gotten that extra bit of hope.

So sorry to hear that. I was discussing donor eggs with them in 2019 and they were just about to do a big drive for donors and then covid hit.

Would you consider self funded at all? The list at TFP Nottingham nurture isn't that long and you get get scans done in Glasgow and only go down there for transfer. I found them lovely there. The egg donation coordinator was amazing and the consultant I saw (virtually) was really proactive.

LT103 · 05/03/2025 16:03

@IVFlife nothing different but had second scan today and already ovulating so natural transfer rather than modified natural (no trigger needed) so more like my successful round. Transfer will be Tuesday.
I always say I won’t get my hopes up esp as just hd 2 failed transfers but I can’t help but feel this is a good sign and think this will be the one.

Cesas · 05/03/2025 18:19

@nosejug sorry to hear that news, it must have been a difficult phone call to receive.

@lt103 good luck for your transfer on Tuesday!

I'm 10dp5dt today and unfortunately testing negative so it looks like this is another failed transfer.

KayEmmSquared · 05/03/2025 18:55

I had my EC today and out of 6 plump follicles I got 1 egg, bit disappointed but on we go 🤞🏻
