Flu like symptoms day after failed FET. Immune response?

We’ve just found out our latest IVF cycle was unsuccessful. I’m at a complete loss and wondered if the following had happened to anyone else?

The day after my FET I felt extremely ill with extreme flu like symptoms (chills, sweating etc.) I felt so ill I was convinced it was flu or Covid. These symptoms lasted from around 7-11pm when I fell asleep.

When I woke the next morning I felt completely normal. This was very strange as given how ill I’d felt I expected to be very poorly and spend the day in bed.

I have two autoimmune conditions and wonder if this was an immune response by my body to the FET? I know it wasn’t a usual ‘bug’ as 1) I’m not ill very often and 2) given how ill I felt, it would have lasted for much longer (e.g days rather than hours.)

Has anyone else had anything similar happen?

We were extremely fortunate that our previous FET resulted in our daughter. (I’m sorry if that is difficult to read) This time around we followed the same protocol and had a PGT-A euploid embryo. The only thing that was really different was the illness I experienced. (Last time I did have a sore throat the day after transfer.)

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I’m meeting with my consultant next week and worried he will dismiss what happened.

Hi I'd like to see what others say. After my FET on Monday I've developed cold sores which I usually get when my immune system is in whack and I'm poorly. It's only day 4 for me but I feel like my period is coming 😔

@Sherr33 I would try not to give up hope yet. I was convinced my first transfer hadn’t worked (I had a bad sore throat) and we got a positive result.

I think it’s normal for your body to lower your immune system to prevent your body from fighting the embryo. That’s why you hear so many people have colds or sore throats that come and go quickly. It could have been that or just your body reacting to hormones, either way I wouldn’t worry. Mention to your doctor but I don’t think they’ll have an answer for you. Good luck with it all, hope it all works out! ☺️
