Anyone else preparing for FET April 2024

1000 replies

blahblahetc · 19/02/2024 15:18

Hello, wondering if anyone is preparing for an FET in April?

This will be my 3rd transfer. 1st one implanted but early loss, second (euploid) and third (untested) did not implant. I'm waiting to do a hysteroscopy next week + an ERA following week prior to transfer in April.

We decided against testing this time, and are wondering whether or not to do a double transfer. Our embryos are AA/ABs so want to feel hopeful but fully aware of the possible failure(s) ahead of us..

@MotherOfShihTzus that's a lot of meds! I did ask about further immunotherapy support on top of Prednisolone but the Dr was not concerned that it was needed as Prednisolone was in place....we shall see what happens

Steph2345 · 26/03/2024 11:15

Hi everyone, I hope you're all doing ok. I'd like to join if possible. I had hoped to be having my FET in March but you know what AF is like, so it'll be April sometime now.
I'm on day 10 of Oestradiol (and nearly 4 weeks in of being on down reg implant too). I'll have my first scan on Thursday this week to see how well I'm reacting to it all.
I've not had chance to read back through the feed - what stage is everyone at? Is anyone else doing a FET?

Sunflower360 · 26/03/2024 11:20

@Steph2345 Hi! I'm on CD 5 on my 2nd FET after the last one was a BFN last month. Is this your first one?

Steph2345 · 26/03/2024 11:42

Hi @Sunflower360 this is my first FET yes. I have had 3 unsuccessful IUIs, and 1 successful fresh ICSI. My frostie is from the same round as the successful ICSI and is the only frostie we have.
im sorry to hear you have a BFN last month. How are you finding the medication? It took me a few days, I felt awful last week but feel ok now thankfully.

Sunflower360 · 26/03/2024 11:44

@Steph2345 Thanks. Im doing a natural FET so meds are minimal, only on Aspirin and Prednisolone at the moment. Then I'll have a trigger when I see a surge to ensure I ovulate and will start Progesterone at that point.

Sunflower360 · 26/03/2024 11:45

If possible I would prefer to avoid down ref meds and estrogen as the stims in the ECs led to a polyp which I had to have removed

lemons44 · 26/03/2024 12:02

Hi all, hope you're doing ok.

I feel a bit stressed today ☹️

My consultant had me on provera during my preparation cycle. It is 5 days since ending provera and my period is nowhere in sight. The last two times I have provera I began spotting 3 to 4 days after stopping with full flow arriving 5 days after. Today is 5 days after and no signs of it coming at all. I am wondering if the prostap injection has impacted my cycle.
Has anyone experienced this before? I'm worried it will impact me doing my FET.

custardcreamcake1 · 26/03/2024 13:04

@Steph2345 Hi! sounds like we’ll be cycle buddies - got my lining scan on Friday - hope yours goes well! I’ve had 2 unsuccessful FETs, so anxiously crossing everything for this one.

@Sunflower360 my clinic moved me to Lubion just to maximise progesterone “bioavailability” - whatever that means! They did say it really doesn’t make much difference though, between the effectiveness of pessaries and injectables.

Serendipity24 · 26/03/2024 13:52

Welcome to those who joined recently!

@custardcreamcake1 may I ask what is your Lubion dose? My dose is one injection per day and I am wondering whether it will be enough. This is my first FET and I am doing a natural modified cycle.

custardcreamcake1 · 26/03/2024 14:59

@Serendipity24 my dose will be 2 per day, but maybe it’s different for natural vs medicated, because you’ll be producing your own anyway?

blahblahetc · 26/03/2024 15:08

Welcome to all new people 😊

@custardcreamcake1 I have a similar history, first one early loss, second and third did not implant..

@Sunflower360 I asked my clinic about lubion, they said there isn't much difference apart from the price (this Prague clinic is very good in helping the patient save costs and only give you what you absolutely need to avoid "leftovers"). I had wanted to go on lubion thinking it might be more effective, and they said if I go on lubion then I'll have to stick to it for the course... so in the end I decided to stick with the cheaper option and maybe switch to lubion post-transfer...

Also, just to mention - it's the same concept with clexane and aspirin... although I am on a higher dose aspirin now, 100mg (with previous clinic it was 75mg + 20mg clexane during preparation phase.

@custardcreamcake1 thanks for sharing. I guess one/day will be enough in a natural cycle if you are on two/day on a medicated cycle as you have said the body is supposed to produce some too. I guess I am just worried because I don't know for sure how much progesterone my body produces and this time they won't test the level before transfer.

blahblahetc · 26/03/2024 18:10

@lemons44 I have been reading about how to make period come as I suspect mine will be delayed this month given the meds (and impatience and anxiety to start prepping for the FET!).

Naturally, you can try by increasing your water and vitamin C intake, have sex or just orgasm as that will make your uterine muscles contract.. I’m not sure if they will work but I will be doing that end of next week!

Im still on estrogen and progesterone and will be stopping them on Friday (I was preparing for a transfer but the ERA results hadn’t come back in time).

Hi all! I hope it's ok to join. I am on day 2 of a FET cycle and will be starting oestrogen tomorrow. I had a baseline scan earlier today which made everything more real. This will be my third FET. First one was unsuccessful. I then changed clinics and second one was positive but resulted in an early miscarriage💔 .Praying that it'll be third time lucky. Wishing everyone all the best 💐

Sunflower360 · 26/03/2024 19:44

@Choose2bgr8ful Hi, sorry to hear about your previous rounds and hope this one works out. Are you doing anything different for this FET?

Choose2bgr8ful · 26/03/2024 19:59

@Sunflower360 Thank you. After my last cycle, I had my 3 remaining frosties PG tested and two were euploids so will be transferring one of them. My consultant has also changed my progesterone from lentogest to lubion as my level were low last time. I don't know if that'll help but hoping it does.

Sunflower360 · 26/03/2024 20:01

@Choose2bgr8ful that is good to have 2 euploids out of 3, are you under 35?

Steph2345 · 26/03/2024 21:15

@custardcreamcake1 hi! It’s nice to have a cycle buddie!

@Choose2bgr8ful im sorry to hear about your previous rounds. Got everything crossed for you that this will the one for you.

@blahblahetc sorry if you’ve mentioned before, why are you on thinners? (Assuming that is what the aspirin/clexane is for).

im going to ask a really stupid question - what are euploids??

Serendipity24 · 26/03/2024 22:26

Hi @Steph2345 No question is stupid! You just reminded me of the early days when we first started our IVF journey and I would be amazed at how people knew so much!

Euploid embryo is an embryo that has the correct number of chromosomes and is considered a normal embryo 😊

Choose2bgr8ful · 26/03/2024 22:38

@Steph2345 thanks a lot 🙏you too, I hope its a good first FET for you! And no question is too silly. We can all learn from each other.
@Sunflower360 no I'm 39, we froze the embies a couple of years ago. How about you, is this your first natural cycle? Apologies I haven't yet caught up with everyone's updates

Sunflower360 · 26/03/2024 22:45

@Choose2bgr8ful that's good. I'm 38, just had a BFN natural FET, and am now going straight into another natural FET with one of our frozen embryos. Did 3 ECs late last year and embryo banked, got 6 x blastocyst and 1 x day 3 left. They weren't PGTA'd though so not sure if any are euploid, suppose will find out once they go in!

Choose2bgr8ful · 26/03/2024 23:24

@Sunflower360 that's a good number of blastocysts. Wishing you all the best 🙏Are you doing anything different this time around?

Sunflower360 · 26/03/2024 23:28

@Choose2bgr8ful thank you. Just adding Aspirin this time. I have Thyroid Antibodies so was on Prednisolone which I'm also on for this FET

blahblahetc · 27/03/2024 06:45

@Steph2345 hello, I was told I have ‘sticky blood’ by Create; upon researching the topic I realised it’s blood clotting in the vessels (which was surprising to me as I have quite a relatively healthy diet) thereby restricting flow into the womb.. My blood pressure is also on the lower side so the thinners aid with circulation. I am also on traditional Chinese meds and everytime I go in to see the Chinese physician he says my pulse (chi) is weak and mostly functioning on adrenaline 😐

lemons44 · 27/03/2024 20:01

Thanks @blahblahetc I will try these things.
I did ring the clinic and they said because I've been on provera it can take up to 10 days after stopping for period to arrive. It's now 6 days after I stopped so have to hope it comes soon.

I did lose my temper massively with my slow cooker earlier so hoping my aggy-ness is due to it being on its way!

What eostrogen and progesterone are you on? My clinic have given me so many drugs I'm not 100% sure what they are yet as my clinic won't give me the medication schedule until I get my period x
