Anyone else preparing for FET April 2024

1000 replies

blahblahetc · 19/02/2024 15:18

Hello, wondering if anyone is preparing for an FET in April?

This will be my 3rd transfer. 1st one implanted but early loss, second (euploid) and third (untested) did not implant. I'm waiting to do a hysteroscopy next week + an ERA following week prior to transfer in April.

We decided against testing this time, and are wondering whether or not to do a double transfer. Our embryos are AA/ABs so want to feel hopeful but fully aware of the possible failure(s) ahead of us..

@Sunflower360 Yeh, I was hoping for a 3-digit figure or maybe a high 2-digit figure.. My OTD is Friday which is 14 days past (too long!) I am anxiously waiting for Wednesday now..

Also looking at my previous numbers (chemical), it was 1212 on day 14, continued to rise/double and then fell drastically on day 19.. why does this even happen in life 😥

@AnxiousAndHopeful Hopefully your scan tomorrow will provide some reassurance, this is just a cruel journey!

Apologies in advance for TMI but…

on day of transfer do I still do my progesterone pessary in the morning? I remember reading somewhere that I don’t as obviously it could be an obstruction to the cervix?

what did you ladies do morning of transfer day?

blahblahetc · 29/04/2024 14:14

@LouP87 I checked with my clinic and they said it’s fine. Create wanted me to do it backway, which prompted me to check with my Prague clinic.

Congratulations @localbunny and @Southlondoner88for the positives and@LouP87 for the excellent fertilization! Hope it's all good news from now on for you guys.

@blahblahetc the initial reading doesn't tell much, it's how it's doubling that matters. When is your next blood test, Friday?

@Sunflower360 very pleased to hear your lining is good and you have a transfer date.

@beachbum85 great to hear things are progressing well for you.

Things are not looking good for me unfortunately. The last couple of days has been very difficult. The lines are getting fainter by the day. The CB digital showed only 1-2 weeks on Saturday. I feel like I am about to have period, but probably progesterone is delaying it.

I will not get the blood result until later in the evening. But I have accepted that I am losing this pregnancy and the blood test will only confirm it. I have slight pain on the right side and worried whether it's ectopic. At this point, I am praying for a natural miscarriage without any medical interventions.

AnxiousAndHopeful · 29/04/2024 15:21

@Serendipity24 I'm so sorry to hear it, it's such an unfair journey. Will be thinking of you and hoping your next steps are as manageable as they can be - it's so cruel.

Sunflower360 · 29/04/2024 15:26

@Serendipity24 really sorry to read that, hope the hcg test provides some clarity for you. Do you know what you would like to do in terms of next steps?

blahblahetc · 29/04/2024 15:54

I am so sorry to hear @Serendipity24, this rollercoaster is really.. no words.

I am trying to get an appointment for Wednesday; and plan to use another FRER tomorrow morning to see if the line gets darker or not..

@blahblahetc how many dpt are you?

blahblahetc · 29/04/2024 16:15

@Sunflower360 10dpt.. I am going mad googling and resisting peeing on another stick knowing I'd prolly drank too much water today now!

My beta came back at 11. Genuinely quite upset at the nurse who started the call by saying 'congratulations'. They want me to keep taking the progesterone for another week then test again, which I really don't want to do as I feel this is so low it seems almost ridiculous. My symptoms have all gone so I think it would be kinder to just let the period arrive, but waiting for a call back now. Hope everyone else is having better days and @blahblahetc hope you get a nice rise on Wednesday.

Sunflower360 · 29/04/2024 16:27

@localbunny if the pregnancy was viable you would be creating your own Progesterone too, but I would ask the nurses. Perhaps ask if you can have a beta in 2 days so you can come off them sooner if hcg drops further. When I had my chemical I stopped Progesterone once hcg was at 5

blahblahetc · 29/04/2024 16:28

@localbunny I think you should definitely do another one on Wednesday before stopping meds. I'm doing that.. Hope we are surprised on Wednesday..

And yes, I hated it when they congratulated me the first time I had my bHCG done (I was properly bleeding), it is such a mental f*!

localbunny · 29/04/2024 17:09

@Sunflower360 @blahblahetc thanks both, I've spoken to the nurses again and I'm going to follow their advice as they say they've seen very low results turn into viable pregnancies (just feeling a bit sh*t about it all I think!). Going to make myself a nice supper, put my feet up this evening and try to forget all about it until next week. At least my expectations are on the ground 😂

lemons44 · 29/04/2024 18:23

I'm so sorry @Serendipity24 ☹️ I really hope that the bloods surprise you. Thinking of you and sending a hug xx

@localbunny sorry that wasn't the news you was hoping for. I really hope it increases by the next test. xx

@LouP87 this time round with this clinic they did tell me to do my vaginal pessary as normal and then during the FET the doctor had this weird little hoover like in the dentist that sucked out the discharge from my vagina before they started (sorry TMI). However my old clinic I think they told me to use my pessary rectally on the morning. Cannot 100% remember. I would ask the clinic to be sure. Let us know how it goes tomorrow.

Babydusttous2024 · 29/04/2024 21:29

Hi All,

Just catching up now! It's been a surreal few days finding out we're pregnant, however late last night I got a strong cramp which didn't last long, but was followed by spotting. I was just petrified 🙈 contacted the clinic and they said not to worry that everyone reacts differently to pregnancy, yesterday would have been my start date for period so could be something to do with that, unsure. The rollercoaster continues 🙈 no spotting since and took a clear blue digital which came up as 3+ with an evening urine today so trying to keep positive. Doing a super early scan on Thursday I'll be 5 weeks 5 days , hopefully see something to ease the anxiety!

Hope everyone Is keeping calm and positive, wishing you all good luck on your journeys ✨💕 this is tough!!

Southlondoner88 · 29/04/2024 21:33

excellent news @Babydusttous2024 that you are still testing positive.

what does 3+ mean?

also see people saying 3+2 but no clue what these mean.

Lasagne30 · 29/04/2024 23:13

@localbunny I had my full blown period for about 4 days and they still made me take the pessaries until a confirmed blood test 🙄

@LouP87 I did my pessarie as normal as instructed by my clinic, popped the pill at about 6am and had my transfer at 11:30...by that time most of it has passed anyway.
Sorry to all those having a bad time 😔It's making me nervous and I'm on the look out for any negative sign.
I was wondering, when did everyone start having sex again after transfer?
I am so hard up it's rediculous 🤣 But worried that any sort of orgasm will boot out my potential baby 🤔

lemons44 · 30/04/2024 06:00

Good luck today @LouP87 xx

blahblahetc · 30/04/2024 06:27

@localbunny I would really push for a beta test tmr/this week, unless you don’t mind waiting a week before you know. I personally think getting a positive on a urine test knowing it might be a potential chemical/miscarrying is worse that getting a negative right from the start..

I just took a FRER and I don’t think it’s darker, although hard to compare to the one from 2 days ago, given it’s 2 days old! Why didn’t I take one yesterday 😑

@Babydusttous2024 Good you have a scan this week. I keep thinking/imagining/feeling I have cramps.. all the times it’s failed in the past, I get my period on day 12, which is tmr. I hope your bleeding/cramping stop and the scan gives you some reassurance.

@Lasagne30 how many days past are you? I think you are safe to have an orgasm after 14 days 😁but maybe check with your clinic?

blahblahetc · 30/04/2024 06:36

That sentence didn’t have much sense so let me try again!

I personally think getting a positive on a urine test knowing it is a chemical/miscarrying is worse that getting a negative right from the start..

This was how I felt when I was miscarrying, because that meant a delay to starting again.

lemons44 · 30/04/2024 09:05

@blahblahetc does it also depend on things like how hydrated you are for darkness of the line?

Just on my way back from the clinic they wanted me to have a progesterone blood test again. Interested to know what the levels will be now I'm on 6 pessaries and 2 jabs a day.

I stupidly tested yesterday on only 4dp5dt and obviously stark white because it's too early. I'm already going mad!

Noodles4Me · 30/04/2024 10:59

Morning all, tentatively joining if that’s okay? Had my transfer on 19th April - a newbie to IVF as had a naturally conceived son when I was 40 then a miscarriage at 12 weeks aged 43 due to Turner’s Syndrome. Testing showed that wasn’t age related but we’d started the IVF process before we got those results (may not have needed to, who knows?)

Anyway, after all the tests, meds and mock cycles - transferred a “lower grade” embryo. It appears to have stuck. Got BFP Saturday and my beta HCG yesterday was 345.

Im trying not to get excited as after such a traumatic loss, where Betas were good and heartbeats were seen - it still ended in loss so just taking it one day at a time. My clinic don’t want me to have an ultrasound until I’m 7 weeks + 2

Congrats and good luck to all in this thread. You have my admiration as IVF is so tough, more than I thought it would be x

LouP87 · 30/04/2024 11:30

Thanks for all the good luck messages ☺️

Just left the hospital and on the way home now. One of the 6 was good enough to transfer today, but hadn’t quite reached blastocyst.

the other 5 are slow developing and look like day 3’s still, so they are giving them one more day to catch up and will call tomorrow with an update. Hoping for the best but expecting the worst.

Got all my hopes on this little one sticking! OTD not until 11th May which feels like years away!

2024forthewin · 30/04/2024 11:46

@beachbum85 sorry for the delayed response. I got my third beta result back and it had more than doubled! The nurse said it had caught up to itself I.e if my second beta had been the number it should have been, it would have resulted in the same number I got at my third beta. So the clinic said they were “cautiously optimistic” and have booked me for an early scan at 6 weeks 5days. Patiently waiting for that next week and trying to stay positive but hard all this waiting!

Pregnancy test lines are as dark as the control line now, but going to hold off doing another CB digital until the end of this week, when I’ll be 21dp5dt in the hope it shows up as being pregnant 3+ weeks.

Hope this gives some hope to those with beta results on the lower side.
