Anyone else preparing for FET April 2024

1000 replies

blahblahetc · 19/02/2024 15:18

Hello, wondering if anyone is preparing for an FET in April?

This will be my 3rd transfer. 1st one implanted but early loss, second (euploid) and third (untested) did not implant. I'm waiting to do a hysteroscopy next week + an ERA following week prior to transfer in April.

We decided against testing this time, and are wondering whether or not to do a double transfer. Our embryos are AA/ABs so want to feel hopeful but fully aware of the possible failure(s) ahead of us..

Thanks for your messages and support @AnxiousAndHopeful , @Sunflower360 , @blahblahetc and @lemons44

As expected, the blood test showed that hCG level has declined. It's now almost at the same level found on OTD. Stopping progesterone from today and then wait and see when bleeding starts.

I agree with @blahblahetc , it's better to have a negative outright than a biochemical/early miscarriage 😥

@Sunflower360 we have three more embryos so will be looking into another FET. Not sure when though as a lot depends on how this miscarriage pans out. Got doctor's appointment on Friday, will see what he recommends.

Sunflower360 · 30/04/2024 12:20

@Serendipity24 sorry to read that, I agree on the rather have a negative than a chemical mind set. When I had mine last year the emotional rollercoaster was unreal- going from unknown anxiously waiting, to positive, to negative all in a week is just too much. Think that's why I'm going to put off testing for as long as I can next time round just in case. Its good you have 3 embryos frozen, hopefully you can develop a plan soon if you'd want to go straight into it. Me personally I kind of want to just keep at this until we decide to close the chapter, it is all consuming but I'm not sure I would do great having a proper break from it until I know for certain its done and dusted. But that's just me. Even the 1 month break I'm planning if this FET fails I'm considering any possible tests...although I may have exhausted most of them now

blahblahetc · 30/04/2024 12:46

@lemons44 It was the first pee so I can't be that hydrated😕I will find out one way or another tomorrow.. what is your progesterone blood test today?

@Noodles4Me Welcome and sorry for your previous losses. Your HCG level is looking promising! I also transferred 19th April, and my HCG was only 42 yesterday..

@LouP87 Congrats on the successful transfer! Take it easy now and you are PUPO! When do you plan to test?

@2024forthewin Congrats on the rising numbers! What was your starting and on what day please?

@Serendipity24 I am so sorry for your news. I was really hoping this is your happy ending. Is there a mention of when you might be able to have the next FET? Would you want to go into another asap? You need to take care of yourself, hope you keep strong and spirits up.

Thank you ☺️ @blahblahetc got my fingers crossed for you!

I’m feeling pretty negative about it all to be honest, I probably won’t test at all unless I don’t bleed at usual time (which would be around 7th May and 7DPT). Just have it in my head it’s not going to work, we won’t have any to freeze and that’s us done. Only one funded NHS round and no way we can afford private unfortunately- with our end results I’m not sure I’d be comfortable spending it anyway.

beachbum85 · 30/04/2024 13:18

Hi everyone... travelling for work this week and finding it hard to catch up and reply.

@Serendipity24 I'm so, so sorry about how things have turned out. I was really hoping for a happy surprise for you and, yes, it's definitely much harder to have hope and then lose it. Sending love and hugs as you process it all and think of next steps xxx

@blahblahetc and @localbunny I'm sorry your beta result wasn't what you expected... really hoping you get good news when you test again!
@localbunny I can't believe they make you wait a whole week though... sending strength as you wait!

@Sunflower360 thank you! So glad to hear your lining is look good and you're transferring this week. Hoping this is your time 🤞🏼🤞🏼

@AnxiousAndHopeful I'm sorry about the spotting, that must be so worrying! I know it's very normal to have spotting in early pregnancy and even bleeding, but I can imagine the stress Or has it stopped in the meantime? I hope your csan today has given reassurance xxx

@Babydusttous2024 I'm glad things have been going well since the spotting, and good to hear you have a scan later this week too. Very best of luck 🤞🏼🤞🏼

@2024forthewin really glad to hear that good news about your betas too! Good luck with the digital but I think betas are more accurate anyway 😊

@LouP87 congrats on being PUPO - sending you all the sticky vibes! And I hope you get some good news on Day 6 tomorrow too! There are so many stories about the one embryo working, so you just never know xxx

@Southlondoner88 how are you doing? 3+ is the result on a digital pregnancy test... it can give 1-2w, 2-3w, then 3+ since transfer and it's a way of monitoring HCG increase at home (very roughly).

@Lasagne30 glad to hear things have been going smoothly for you! I'm also too scared to have sex haha I think I'll wait for the viability scan, just in case. My clinic didn't say anything about that though!

hi @Noodles4Me I'm really sorry to hear about your previous loss. Congrats on your BFP! And I hope you're coping OK with the wait till the scan (I'm also waiting, mine is 9 May).

blahblahetc · 30/04/2024 14:38

@lemons44 Forgot to say 4dp5dt is too early, even on the reddit post I shared previously. It's reasonable to start testing on 5dpt, not day 4🙂and it has to be the first pee if you are testing early.

Thanks @LouP87 Keep positive now and let the happy hormones flow through!

OP posts:
2024forthewin · 30/04/2024 14:38

@blahblahetc it was 96 11dpt.
@beachbum85 mine is also on 9 May

Sunflower360 · 30/04/2024 18:11

Bit of a random question...those who have done natural FET, has anyone taken a trigger when they actually surge to ensure ovulation happens? I've done that but just wondering what others have done out of curiosity. I've never, in each of the FETs, got to a point where the follicle was so big trigger beat the surge if that makes sense

lemons44 · 01/05/2024 08:31

Negative on FRER today 6dp5dt so I think according to that Reddit post, I'm out.
Absolutely gutted. Was really hoping my luck would change.

MotherOfShihTzus · 01/05/2024 09:27

Oh @lemons44 sorry to hear that - I will say though, I did lots of frantic searching last cycle and found plenty of later implantation examples. There may be some hope! There's a reason OTD is later. I have everything crossed for you x

blahblahetc · 01/05/2024 09:33

@lemons44 You have one more day according to Reddit post so hang in there! It might change.

OP posts:
Sunflower360 · 01/05/2024 11:24

@lemons44 sorry to read that but it is still early, but I understand you know your body best. I felt the same last cycle. @blahblahetc how are you? Have you tested again?

blahblahetc · 01/05/2024 11:27

@Sunflower360 I'm waiting anxiously for the result, and I'm not sure if I'm ready for bad news.. 😥

OP posts:
Serendipity24 · 01/05/2024 11:55

Thanks @beachbum85 for the kind words.

@2024forthewin Awesome that your hCG is back on track. Hopefully it gives those worrying about their levels some hope. I think I might have inadvertently scared them.

@lemons44 and @blahblahetc hang in there, I really really hope you have good news soon. 🍀

Sherr33 · 01/05/2024 12:59

Hi all im quite behind everyone else I think. I had a scan this morning that shows yes ive ovulated and everything is looking good internally and then I had my prostrap injection. Now I wait and go back in 2 weeks. How did everyone feel after their prostrap?x

blahblahetc · 01/05/2024 13:23

Result is in.. 45. Is this a possible ectopic?

OP posts:
Serendipity24 · 01/05/2024 13:50

@blahblahetc gutted to hear your result today 😞 However, I think you still should get another test just to make sure- it's possible that yours might double every 72 hours instead of 48, which is still within the feasible realms provided it continues to double.

Ectopic might be a possibility, but not necessarily. It could just be a simple biochemical too. I have been reading a lot about ectopics recently, it's possible for them to resolve by themselves in the early weeks without needing any intervention (which I am hoping mine will do if it's indeed an ectopic).

Sending positive thoughts your way

blahblahetc · 01/05/2024 14:00

@Serendipity24 Thanks for your kind words, especially with you being in this difficult position yourself. I am tearing up, and I'm one of those who can't cry😥

I have no symptoms at all, I keep worrying my period might come as it is day 12. Now just worried and unsure what is going on. I had actually pictured every possible scenario in my head and still was not prepared for this one.

Do you know what is happening with yours? Are you waiting for AF now?

OP posts:
Sunflower360 · 01/05/2024 14:55

@blahblahetc sorry about your result, but it hasn't dramatically dropped so is definitely worth querying with the clinic in case they have any suggestions of what could be happening. Hopefully they have seen it before to be able to advise

blahblahetc · 01/05/2024 15:16

Thanks @Sunflower360 I just spoke to Tommy's clinic and even they are baffled, and not very hopeful.. I have read about slow rising HCG, but a 7% increase in 48hours is a joke.. I am hoping maybe it will take 72hours like Seredipity has suggested.

Also feeling like, maybe I should just give up and have myself a glass (bottle) of wine tonight.

I have booked in for yet another HCG test on Friday, it is the OTD and Tommy said that might provide some peace of mind.. it is also bad timing as it's a bank holiday in Prague today and my coordinator can't get hold of my doctor so will only find out what they think tomorrow..

Are you ready for your transfer? Is it tomorrow or Friday?

OP posts:
Sunflower360 · 01/05/2024 15:43

@blahblahetc try and stay away from the wine if you can, as tempting as it is! Just in case. I'm ok, not sure what else I can do so iust going to see this one through and take it from there. Will know tomorrow morning if its a single or double transfer (transfer is tomorrow)

blahblahetc · 01/05/2024 16:10

@Sunflower360 Best of luck tomorrow! I hope you get a blast from the day 3🍀

I'm now wondering when my next transfer might be.. ideally in May (oh it's this month!) if possible.. I have too many plans happening between July-Sept I don't think it's wise to throw in emotional rollercoaster!

Anyone heard of dexmethasone? I was combing the internet for HCG numbers and saw someone use this instead of prednisolone and went on to have success..

OP posts:
lemons44 · 01/05/2024 16:41

Gosh @blahblahetc I'm so sorry you are going through this stress and worry. I really hope it takes 72 hours for you. Surely with all the millions of pregnancies in the world we can't all be 'text book' and our bodies will all be different.

@Serendipity24 I'm so sorry I missed your message yesterday. I'm absolutely gutted for you. Do you feel you are coping ok? Hope you are being supported at home too 💗

Thank you @MotherOfShihTzus @blahblahetc @Sunflower360 for your messages. I did something very stupid as I'd taken a pic of my tests about half hour after I took them before I threw them away. This afternoon I started zooming in in the pictures and questioning whether there's a vvvvvfl on the FRER. It could be an in-dent, Evap or it could just be desperation on my part wanting to see something that's not there. I've decided I'm not going to test again until OTD, which is 14dp5dt and 9th May. The early testing is definitely starting to impact me so I'm going to step away!

xx

lemons44 · 01/05/2024 16:43

@blahblahetc I was put on dexamethasone DURING stimming in the lead up to my egg collection. Not 100% sure why I think my doctor did it because I have an autoimmune condition. However for my FET I was on prednisolone. x
