Anyone else preparing for FET April 2024

Hello, wondering if anyone is preparing for an FET in April?

This will be my 3rd transfer. 1st one implanted but early loss, second (euploid) and third (untested) did not implant. I'm waiting to do a hysteroscopy next week + an ERA following week prior to transfer in April.

We decided against testing this time, and are wondering whether or not to do a double transfer. Our embryos are AA/ABs so want to feel hopeful but fully aware of the possible failure(s) ahead of us..

Hi all
Please can those of you more knowledgable on progesterone help me if you can!

My clinic took a blood test yesterday as standard as they were doing my embryo transfer. The doctor said they will call if they want me to increase progesterone and not to worry if this happens as CRGH like to use quite a lot.

the nurse just rang me and said I need to add more in as my result is lower than they would like. I asked what it was and she said 67.3 and they would normally like it to be 100. I vaguely remember some of you on here talking about 50 but I don't understand the different measurements. Could it be that 67.3 is actually low because they are using a different measurement? I can't find the conversation but I think there's two different ways of measuring progesterone.

lemons44 · 26/04/2024 14:14

I've found this calculator actually that's helpful and if I put say 50 into the nmol/l it is 15 no/ml so I am guessing mine is nmol/l

lemons44 · 26/04/2024 14:14

15 ng/ml*

Sunflower360 · 26/04/2024 14:30

@lemons44 I use that calculator too, mine was 69 nmol when I had it tested in my last transfer, think 30 nmol is the threshold for 'good' levels post ovulation/transfer

Serendipity24 · 26/04/2024 14:30

Hi @lemons44 I also think your measurement is nmol/L, otherwise it would be way too high. So what's your progesterone dose now?

blahblahetc · 26/04/2024 14:32

@lemons44 Mine was 41.1nmol/l on transfer day and they were happy with that. Did you ask them what units they measure in? I would assume it is standard... but I'm no expert in this!

My follow up to your question is - do I need to / should I check progesterone level during the TWW?

Sunflower360 · 26/04/2024 15:01

@blahblahetc I would say possibly not as your body would be producing it on top...plus I think the key indicator now is the HCG levels

lemons44 · 26/04/2024 15:38

Thanks ladies

@Serendipity24 I'm already on 3 cyclogest pessaries and 2 lubion injections a day and now my husband has to go to the clinic tomorrow morning to pick up utrogestan and they want me on 3 pessaries of this a day as well then another progesterone test in 4 days time.

It feels a bit excessive to me?

lemons44 · 26/04/2024 15:43

I've also just asked them if the measurement is nmol/l and waiting for them to message back.

blahblahetc · 26/04/2024 15:56

@lemons44 Too high a progesterone level isn't good for implantation too... so definitely double check.

lemons44 · 26/04/2024 15:59

@blahblahetc that's why I'm a bit worried as I remember @Serendipity24 also said about studies showing too much was bad. Will let you know what they come back with

Serendipity24 · 26/04/2024 18:17

@lemons44 I did read a few journal articles that found high progesterone before/on transfer day leading to poorer implantation and live birth rates. But you have already transferred, so it might not be applicable to you.

Six pessaries and two injections do seem like a lot, but every clinic is different in their approach. Most clinics would be happy with the level you have. Some clinics are quite heavy handed on medication and yours have said so themselves. They probably come from different schools of thought and recommend the doses based on their success stories and individual patient circumstances.

If you are worried I would definitely seek some clarification from them. With such a high does you are also likely to have some side effects e.g. constipation etc., so I would ask their advice on how to manage that as well.

Morning all, update at 8dp5dt is still a faint positive. At this point I am pretty definite it's not the trigger shot, so unfortunately think it's probably a chemical for me but I guess we'll see.

Sending luck to everyone, this process is so tough 🍀

@localbunny definitely can't be the trigger as you say, chemical is possible but it is still possible it could increase too. Do you have a FRER and is that FMU?

localbunny · 27/04/2024 08:46

@Sunflower360 no frer on hand but I have another of the same test (ovum) so I'll try again tomorrow, then Beta anyway on Monday. Tbh not feeling particularly positive about it but last transfer I got nothing at all so I guess a step in the right direction!

blahblahetc · 27/04/2024 09:13

@localbunny Im on the same timeline and mine is almost as faint as yours (and I’m using FRERs!). I don’t have experience with triggers; I have read that it’s common to get a faint line on day 8 as HCG levels not as high yet..I think it doesn’t double this early🤞🏼

I am freaking out about it being a chemical too as there is minimal progression, keep feeling/thinking period is gonna come. I tell myself nothing I can do for now and should hopefully know more after beta on Monday.

@blahblahetc keeping everything crossed for both of us! I think I'm being pessimistic as a protective measure tbh. We'll see on Monday like you say 💗

blahblahetc · 27/04/2024 10:46

@localbunnyYou are spot on there with the protective measure! Hang in there, both of us!

keeping everything crossed for you both @blahblahetc @localbunny 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 hang in there xx

Thank you so much @Serendipity24 that's a really useful message. The clinic did come back to me and it is 67.3 nmol/l. I've got my additional pessaries now and will see how I go on them. It is so interesting seeing how so many different clinics and consultants take such different approaches.

xx

AnxiousAndHopeful · 27/04/2024 14:29

@blahblahetc @localbunny i think I shared a pic of my line progression earlier but it was faint until maybe 10dpt. Also someone I know who is now 15 weeks only had a squinter at 7dpt- will keep things crossed for you both x

blahblahetc · 27/04/2024 15:25

I just did a really stupid thing, I tested on a CB digital and it’s reading only 1-2 weeks..

This calculator is saying I am 3 weeks and 5 days.
https://www.myfertilitycare.com.au/pregnancy-calculator.html

How accurate is CB digital?

How are you? No nasty symptoms I hope?

Sunflower360 · 27/04/2024 17:07

@blahblahetc thankfully not! I've been downing bone broth so hopefully that has helped my immune system ...
