Anyone else preparing for FET April 2024

1000 replies

blahblahetc · 19/02/2024 15:18

Hello, wondering if anyone is preparing for an FET in April?

This will be my 3rd transfer. 1st one implanted but early loss, second (euploid) and third (untested) did not implant. I'm waiting to do a hysteroscopy next week + an ERA following week prior to transfer in April.

We decided against testing this time, and are wondering whether or not to do a double transfer. Our embryos are AA/ABs so want to feel hopeful but fully aware of the possible failure(s) ahead of us..

@blahblahetc how many hours more Progesterone did you end up needing? Do they then time your transfer accurately then to that timing?

blahblahetc · 25/04/2024 16:00

@Sunflower360 I needed 132-144hrs. They must have done as I started at 8pm on CD12 and the transfer took place on CD18 at ~1pm... so about 135hrs later.. I just did the calculations. They also made sure I was counting in Prague time.

@blahblahetc wow that's not that faint as I can see it super clearly! So happy for you. 100% what Sunflower said about showing Dr Winston after his email 🤣 what a rollercoaster of emotions for you over the last 24 hours!

That's great @LouP87 hopefully you get some good fertilisation numbers. For me hands down the hardest part of IVF is that wait from egg collection to day 5. Try and keep your mind busy (easier said that don't I know!).

@Sunflower360 sorry that on top of everything you now have to worry about covid. I might be in a minority here but I think if it was me I'd just not test, try not to think about it and only talk to the clinic if I get a temperature. If I just felt cold symptoms I would just say I'd had a cold and not test or even mention covid. I think the clinics probably have instructions where they have to ask you to postpone treatment if you tell them you've had covid, and their hands are tied. But quite a lot of people get it so mild now it would be a shame for them to say that if you did get it and only have a small tickly cough or something. Fingers crossed though that you don't need to worry.

Sorry I missed your message @2024forthewin I am so hoping the next BETA is positive news.

Little update from me, our transfer went SO smoothly 🥹 I couldn't have wished for better. They found my cervix almost straight away, and my bladder was the perfect fullness without being uncomfortable. Such a better experience than at my last clinic. We got back from London and I've had a nice nap this afternoon whilst it (hopefully) begins to bed down 🤞🏼

I don't think I've ever been on a thread with the many BFPs before so I'm hoping it's a lucky one for me too 🤞🏼

What did everybody do the day after FET?
xx

lemons44 · 25/04/2024 18:35

Easier said than done*

lemons44 · 25/04/2024 18:38

@localbunny hope if you did test again today it was darker 🤞🏼x

Sunflower360 · 25/04/2024 18:44

@lemons44 I completely agree, will just forget about it now unless some symptoms come up and treat it as a cold, and then talk to the clinic. Good to hear your transfer went well!

localbunny · 25/04/2024 18:45

Hi everyone, tested again today and it looks the same: v v faint line! Maybe slightly darker but think that's just because I did it first thing rather than middle of the day. So I think this is probably still the trigger tbh (at 13 days past, how annoying!). Will leave it now a couple of days and test again Sunday. My beta is supposed to be Monday, but I'd rather know on Sunday so I can process everything before a busy start to the week I think.

Keeping fingers and toes crossed for all

blahblahetc · 25/04/2024 19:50

Thanks and congrats on being PUPO! @lemons44 and I definitely echo what you said to @Sunflower360 - I wouldn’t test for Covid, I didn’t dare say it 😅As long as you feel fine and well enough, I really wouldn’t worry about it.

@localbunny Do it first thing with a FRER tmr, that’s my plan. That’s my fear each morning now!

blahblahetc · 26/04/2024 07:33

Day 7 test: I can’t see progression.. although my husband saw the line almost immediately this time, not sure if it’s because he now knows/remembers where to look! I will test again later today.. this is where why compulsion kicks in..

@Serendipity24 Did you/will you be getting your beta done again? I can’t wait for Monday now..

@AnxiousAndHopeful When is your beta?

@lemons44 Are you doing anything nice for the next few days! I took couple days off to do absolutely nothing this time.

@Sunflower360 Don’t forget to up your Vitamin C too!

OP posts:
Sunflower360 · 26/04/2024 08:10

@blahblahetc hopefully you'll see some progression every 48 hours...its hard but hold on in there! Yep got a high vit C supplement, plus orange juice, pom juice....throwing everything at it 😂

2024forthewin · 26/04/2024 08:13

Thanks for the messages regarding the beta results.

I’m going in this morning for my third beta to see how it’s progressing. I’ve just done a CB digital and it’s now showing 2-3 weeks - I had my FET on 11 April. It was reading 1-2 weeks a few days ago, although I didn’t use FMU. Other pregnancy tests are showing strong lines too. So cautiously optimistic that things are progressing.

Does anyone have a sense of when the CB digital should increase to 2-3 weeks I.e has this appeared at the right time for me or later than it should?

AnxiousAndHopeful · 26/04/2024 08:14

@blahblahetc I was the same and spiralled when it wasn't progressing. It progressing very slowly in the beginning! It can be doubling from 25 to 50 and still look pale on tests. Try to stay sane (she says having lost the plot over the last 2 weeks-) and enjoy the fact you are seeing two lines! Mine usually darkened every 2 days, not every day.

My beta was on Monday at 11dp5dt - 400! I have stopped testing since and tried to enjoy being pregnant. First scan is Tues at 5+3 which seems extremely early for the NHS to be bringing me in. I am very nervous! Although starting to feel a wee bit sick so my body clearly thinks that it is pregnant 😂

AnxiousAndHopeful · 26/04/2024 08:16

@2024forthewin Im sorry it's been such a rollercoaster for you. How are you feeling in yourself? Will keep fingers crossed for you. It's a good sign that the weeks have gone up! If you still have strong lines, that's a good sign too. You could just have a slow starter! I've seen that before on these forums. 🍀

Serendipity24 · 26/04/2024 08:45

@blahblahetc I would say if you test every other day then the difference would be more noticeable as it is rising from a small number.

I think I will get the beta done on Monday too. It will be a week from the last test, so the trend should be clear either way.

@2024forthewin good luck for the beta today. If CB has upgraded you to 2/3 weeks and you are getting stronger lines then surely it's a good sign. Hope it continues 🍀

AnxiousAndHopeful · 26/04/2024 08:46

@Serendipity24 What timeline will your beta be by Monday? How are you getting on?

blahblahetc · 26/04/2024 09:02

Thanks @AnxiousAndHopeful @Serendipity24 @Sunflower360 for the reassurance. I should be grateful to see 2 lines but can't help thinking pessimistic thoughts! Also wondering now if this was a chemical, can I still do the next FET in May?

@2024forthewin That's a very good sign that the CB is showing 2-3 weeks. I contemplated buying those last night! If only there was a finger prick test that tells you HCG levels!

Serendipity24 · 26/04/2024 09:10

@AnxiousAndHopeful On Monday I will be 20dp5dt. My first two betas were done on 9dp5dt and 13dp5dt. I'm trying to stay positive but it's difficult. I just want to fast forward to Monday evening when I will get the result!

beachbum85 · 26/04/2024 10:11

@2024forthewin best of luck with your beta results! Sounds positive that it's progressed to 2-3w and you're still seeing strong lines. I don't know about the change from 1-2w to 2-3w but with my successful pregnancy it showed 2-3w until I was 20dp5dt so that sounds right if you're 15dp5dt.

@Serendipity24 I'll be thinking of you over the weekend... must feel like so long to wait but it sounds like a sensible gap to get a clear answer ❤

@lemons44 I'm so glad the transfer went so well and it was a positive experience - I do think that makes a difference and I really hope this is a lucky thread for you too! I was working from home the days after FET, so mostly sitting but I went for a couple of half hour walks too.

@blahblahetc cautious congratulations but I see a very clear line there and I don't think that's too faint for 7dp5dt! I have seen MUCH fainter lines on here. Here's hoping it progresses steadily!

@localbunny I don't have much experience with this but I'd say that a line 13 days after the trigger, and so close to your beta, is most likely a faint positive... stay hopeful and very best of luck for Sunday 🤞🏼🤞🏼

@LouP87 great that you had 7 yesterday. Keeping everything crossed for more positive news today 🤞🏼🤞🏼 and sending strength for the wait over the next days xxx

@Sunflower360 I hope you're still feeling well! and this it's already been put out there, I also wouldn't test unless I really had to...

@AnxiousAndHopeful that's great that's they've booked you in so early for a scan... I hope that, and the sickness, gives you reassurance.
I don't have nausea as such, but I feel like I'm always either starving (very unlike me especially in the mornings) or bloated (even if I eat normal amounts). So I'm not fully comfortable but nothing like the nausea and sickness in my previous pregnancy, although it's still very early for that.
I have a question, please: how did you calculate how far along you are? I feel silly asking this but now I'm confused... I put the transfer date into an online calculator, which gave me the due date, and then I put that due date into an app and it worked it out backwards. Or should I have used the date of my last period since this was a natural FET?

Serendipity24 · 26/04/2024 10:32

Thanks @beachbum85. To calculate due date after transferring a Day5 embryo, you can add 261 days to the transfer date. Or easier would be to just use one of the online calculators e.g. https://www.whattoexpect.com/ivf-due-date-calculator/ or https://www.theivfjourney.com/due-date-calculator/ etc.

IVF Due Date Calculator

https://www.whattoexpect.com/ivf-due-date-calculator

Serendipity24 · 26/04/2024 10:40

@beachbum85 sorry, your question was about how far along you are, not due date. I calculated mine using LMP date as it was natural FET and the online calculators seem to agree with me. I think you can also calculate from the ovulation date. For Day5 embryo transfer, 5 days before transfer would be your comparable ovulation date. You then add two weeks extra.

beachbum85 · 26/04/2024 11:01

Thank you @Serendipity24 ! Those calculators and using ovulation date have me at 5w 1d with due date 25 or 26 Dec. It's slightly off using LMP but it seems more accurate to use the transfer/ovulation dates since I know them.

lemons44 · 26/04/2024 11:26

Thank you @beachbum85 💗 and wow that's an exciting due date!

I'm taking it easy today, booked the day off work and so did DH so he's bringing me snacks whilst I watch grand designs in bed 😄 I also purposely avoided watching MAFS Australia for two weeks so I'd have 8 episodes to catch up on during the TWW to help distract me 🤣

xx

Lasagne30 · 26/04/2024 11:28

@beachbum85 My clinic sent me all my details which was helpful! My transfer date was 10-4-24 (5 day embryo) and she said that on 26-4-24 I am 5 weeks pregnant. Est delivery date 28-12-24.
Not sure how they calculated it but there ya go lol

beachbum85 · 26/04/2024 12:21

Thanks @Lasagne30 that's helpful! My transfer date was 09.04 with a 5-day embryo so that confirms 5+1 today... and maybe 27.12 as an estimated due date? 🤷🏻‍♀️

@lemons44 I don't want to get ahead of myself but that would be a very interesting due date if things go ahead... my parents host 30+ people for Christmas lunch and I've never missed one. Would be a fun way to tell them 🤞🏼🤞🏼
Enjoy your day relaxing and being spoilt! Well done for thinking ahead and accumulating some episodes 💪🏼 I hope the tww flies for you!

Sherr33 · 26/04/2024 13:41

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone could offer me any advise. I'm having my prostrap injection next week. Is there anything I should be aware of or prepare for this?

I will be starting my elleste solo tablets on the 15/05 - anything I should be aware of or should start doing to prepare for the embryo transfer at this stage?

Between my final scan and my transfer I have booked a holiday 🙃 I really wanted to go away end of May and I didnt think I would have my FET towards this time. Is there any advise on when I should then take my medication in terms of shall I stick to normal UK time ir change to the holiday times :-/ at this point i will be on my progesterone injection and pessaries as well as injection to help prevent clots.
