Anyone else preparing for FET April 2024

blahblahetc · 19/02/2024 15:18

Hello, wondering if anyone is preparing for an FET in April?

This will be my 3rd transfer. 1st one implanted but early loss, second (euploid) and third (untested) did not implant. I'm waiting to do a hysteroscopy next week + an ERA following week prior to transfer in April.

We decided against testing this time, and are wondering whether or not to do a double transfer. Our embryos are AA/ABs so want to feel hopeful but fully aware of the possible failure(s) ahead of us..

Happy to report another BFP for this thread!!! Over the moon and can't really believe it!

beachbum85 · 21/04/2024 07:04

@MotherOfShihTzus I'm really sorry it's another chemical for you... That's heartbreaking. I agree with what @Serendipity24 said about a natural cycle... It feels a lot easier and you'll definitely produce your own progesterone. Sending you love xxx

@wildhay I'm so sorry things are not looking positive, but I hope the frers and OTD being a happy surprise 🤞🏼

@blahblahetc congrats on being PUPO and in so glad it was a smooth transfer! Enjoy these quiet days and good luck with the tww 💪🏼

@lemons44 I'm so, so glad you've been given the green light to transfer after all of that!! I hope you can get to a point where excitement beats the worry xxx

@Serendipity24 I hope you didn't have to wait too long for your results and all was fine! xxx

@AnxiousAndHopeful I hope your lives have kept getting darker, if you tested again 🤞🏼

@Babydusttous2024 sounds promising! Sending you patience to get to OTD and keeping everything crossed for you!

@Lozzy000 I hope you're well and coping with the tww... Keeping everything crossed for you too!

I hope everyone else is well, and I'm with all those still waiting for their time xxx

AnxiousAndHopeful · 21/04/2024 07:21

@beachbum85 omg that’s amazing news!!!! Well done! How are you feeling? Xxx

AnxiousAndHopeful · 21/04/2024 07:25

@beachbum85 @blahblahetc I’ve been testing like a manic of course. Here’s the progression up to today! I started testing at 3dp5dt to see the negative test from the trigger shot, and got the first faint BFP evening of 5dp5dt 🥹
TW: positive pregnancy test

Oh my gosh! Such lovely news @beachbum85 and @AnxiousAndHopeful - congratulations!! This thread is giving me hope xx

beachbum85 · 21/04/2024 09:51

@AnxiousAndHopeful that's great line progression, congratulations ☺️ I think the biggest emotion here is relief that we got to this point! I actually have a pretty bad cough so physically I don't feel my best but, at least today, that doesn't matter. How are you feeling?

@MotherOfShihTzus thank you!! Definitely keep the hope - I always found a lot of hope in these threads! Hoping your time comes very, very soon xxx

Babydusttous2024 · 21/04/2024 10:08

Omg congratulations to you both!! So uplifting to hear more positive stories 🙏🥳

Serendipity24 · 21/04/2024 10:08

@beachbum85 wow that's amazing news! Congratulations galore! Also good job for holding off testing until the OTD! Hope the cough goes away soon and you feel better.

I received the results Friday evening. It confirmed the positive result. But a single number otherwise is not very informative, we will repeat the test in the coming days to check the rate of increase.

@AnxiousAndHopeful beautiful line progression there! Hope you're feeling more confident and hopeful now.

blahblahetc · 21/04/2024 11:32

@wildhay Did you test again on a FRER?

@beachbum85 Congrats!! It's uplifting to see so many BRPs here!

@AnxiousAndHopeful Thanks for sharing that. I'm so nervous now thinking about Wednesday... husband asked yesterday when do I plan to test. I said most likely Wednesday 5DPT... maybe...

@Serendipity24 Good to see a positive on the blood works, how many days past was that please? My clinic wants blood done on 14DPT and I'm not sure I can wait that long if it's a negative for me.

@MotherOfShihTzus What was your progesterone on transfer day? How are you today? So sorry about your chemical, will you be planning for another FET immediately? I haven't been offered a natural FET, I don't know if it's due to my age (41).. and always assumed medicated means more control..

@Sunflower360 How are you? Do you have a transfer date yet?

@Lozzy000 Have you tested? Will you be testing early? I think you are 6DPT?

Me - 2DPT today. No symptoms whatsoever; a bit worried I may have walked too much on transfer day (in Prague), just under 20,000 steps.. I didn't walk up and down the super long escalators like I normally would but still feel that I might have overdone it.

What's everybody eating to help with implantation? I'm drinking a glass of beetroot juice every morning, snacking on lots of nuts and fruits.. wholemeal everything. Going out for a chicken roast lunch in a bit!

@blahblahetc The blood was drawn on 9dp5dt. HCG shows up in blood earlier than urine, so 14dp5dt does seem a bit long.

I think you are doing great diet wise. I did pretty similar.

Please don't worry about the step count, as long as it didn't exhaust you by the end of the day you should be fine. I think how rigourously you were walking matters more than the number of steps. If you were doing leisurely walk during shopping then it's fine. Also, if you used escalators then the step count is probably a bit overstated too.

A natural cycle doesn't depend on your age (I am 44 and just did one). You can have it as long as you have a regular cycle and ovulate. Medicated could just be the preferred way for your clinic as they have more control, especially when dealing with overseas patients.

MotherOfShihTzus · 21/04/2024 12:33

@blahblahetc on my son, I had zero symptoms! Tired and a bit dizzy 7 weeks, but that was it! So please don't worry about lack of symptoms :)

I'm away in May so will likely go for a June transfer. I've ordered some antibiotics and did some detailed meal planning for an anti-inflammatory diet. I find it so hard to find things that my 2 yo will also eat! But it's important to eat together so just gonna have to get him out of his comfort zone 😂

Day of transfer, progesterone was 27, a week later 31. I'm not taking no for an answer on natural this time! My periods are regular and medicated clearly didn't work for me.

Your walking in Prague will have been good for blood flow - please don't worry! Nothing other than the embryo itself or the uterine environment/ hormones will impact outcomes in reality x

Sunflower360 · 21/04/2024 12:49

@beachbum85 congratulations on your positive!

@blahblahetc I'm ok, no transfer date as yet, got my first scan next week to ensure blood flow is ok to proceed this cycle then will hopefully know more. Hope you're ok

Lozzy000 · 21/04/2024 13:46

Thanks @Serendipity24 - I had the cramping / twitching last time with my chemical but absolutely nothing this time 😔

@AnxiousAndHopeful that line progression looks great!! Congrats!! How are you feeling?

@blahblahetc I don't think the walking after the transfer will do any harm at all - it'll have been good. I've actually not changed anything since the transfer - I'm carrying on completely as normal. But then I don't drink alcohol, already cut out caffeine and don't do high intensity sport. And yes, I'm 6 dpt today! I did test mid morning as I felt really unwell Friday evening and Saturday. Unfortunately test was stark white 😔 I had a faint positive by this time with my chemical last transfer. So I really do feel like I'm out, with the lack of any cramping too...... onto cycle 3...! Xx

blahblahetc · 21/04/2024 14:22

Thanks @Serendipity24 @MotherOfShihTzus @Lozzy000 for the reassurance. My mum said to not touch the luggage and let the husband carry everything 🤣so that’s what I been doing since Saturday.. not lending a hand 😁

@Serendipity24 Yes, with Create the blood was day 9, urine day 11.. I might text them on Friday if I think im out.. to see if I can do HCG earlier to get off meds. I hope yours keeps going up! Thanks for the info on natural vs medicated - all makes sense! I have never been on natural and didn’t even know one can request for it, @MotherOfShihTzus!

@Lozzy000 did you use a FRER? I think you can hang in there for another day (or 2) so try again tmr 🙂

OP posts:
Lozzy000 · 21/04/2024 15:14

@blahblahetc yess, love that!!! It's a great excuse not to carry luggage isn't it. And the fact that the husbands will have heard the nurses first hand tell us not to lift heavy things after transfer 😇

Thanks for the reassurance. It is very early still but can't help thinking I'm out based on last time.... I used a cheap easy@home test - I find they're really sensitive but defo not like a frer. I do have a couple of frer's but as they're expensive, I'm saving them to closer to OTD. I think I'll test again with one on Tuesday or Wednesday (8 or 9dpt) as I'm planning on doing some hiking towards the end of the week. Want to know whether I need to take it a bit easier or not!

Xx

blahblahetc · 22/04/2024 08:55

As anticipated, I'm going mad 3dp5dt! Reading up all sorts on the internet... again! Trying not to test... again! Really thought I would be calmer 4th time round😑

blahblahetc · 22/04/2024 10:27

@lemons44 I took today and tomorrow morning off because I thought I wanted to sleep in and have a lazy morning.. was awake quite early in the end, stupid body clock! I have meetings from 2pm so that should distract me..hopefully.. All the best on Thursday! 🍀

@blahblahetc Those 10 days are at least a year long! How are you feeling?

AnxiousAndHopeful · 22/04/2024 15:25

How are you feeling @Lozzy000 ?

AnxiousAndHopeful · 22/04/2024 15:26

I'm not sure if sharing good news is helpful or hurtful, but in case it provides hope to some people, I had a beta today at 11dp5dt and it was nearly 400! Viability scan booked for two weeks tomorrow.

charliegirl77 · 22/04/2024 16:09

Just popped on to say congratulations to all of you who got your BFP and good luck to the rest of you on your journey. I’m so glad April was lucky for some of you.

Sunflower360 · 22/04/2024 16:39

Congratulations to all those with a positive!

Wondering if anyone has advice...is it too late to start probiotics this cycle if I was to do a FET, I'm a few days into the cycle but transfer would not be for a while yet? Just thinking if its worth trying as I understand makes no harm to do do (unless Ive misunderstood anything?) If so any advice on products and course would be appreciated?

Southlondoner88 · 23/04/2024 07:06

Hi everyone, I had my FET last Tuesday, so 7 days ago now. I’m waiting until day 11 to do the test as that’s what was recommended but I’m dying to know. I was chill about it the first few days because I didn’t feel much then starting on Saturday, (day 4) I started to have stabbing pains in my right side, not severe but noticeable and same with the next day. Yesterday (day 6) the pain was different, much more across the abdomen than on a particular side and quite low down, felt more like dull cramps, again not very painful but definitely uncomfortable and noticeable. Did anyone else have this? Does it mean implantation is more likely if I’m experiencing pain? It’s getting my hopes up which I didn’t really want to do.

The pain seems to only happen a bit later in the day, definitely not in the early morning or while I’m sleeping. It was a 5 day blastocyst if that helps.

blahblahetc · 23/04/2024 07:18

@Sunflower360 I haven’t read the whole thing - https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-023-39078-6#:~:text=Therefore%2C%20six%20days%20of%20probiotic,no%20benefit%20was%20observed1.

Im on canesflor, my clinic said to continue taking it even though I’m a bit wary that it may be an overkill and also getting expensive.. I also forgot to buy some when I was in Prague. Note the type of bacteria recommended.
