Anyone else preparing for FET April 2024

1000 replies

blahblahetc · 19/02/2024 15:18

Hello, wondering if anyone is preparing for an FET in April?

This will be my 3rd transfer. 1st one implanted but early loss, second (euploid) and third (untested) did not implant. I'm waiting to do a hysteroscopy next week + an ERA following week prior to transfer in April.

We decided against testing this time, and are wondering whether or not to do a double transfer. Our embryos are AA/ABs so want to feel hopeful but fully aware of the possible failure(s) ahead of us..

@Serendipity24 it's not a silly question at all, article below explains the scanner that Create fertility use. I think it allows them to view blood flow to the uterus and then from there assess how it is

www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10025869/#:~:text=Color%20or%20power%20Doppler%20and,endometrium%20to%20assess%20blood%20flow.

Serendipity24 · 17/04/2024 15:53

@Sunflower360 that's very interesting, I had no idea! Thanks for sharing. Hope the scan goes well 🍀

blahblahetc · 17/04/2024 15:54

@Serendipity24 Flying to Prague tomorrow after work for an 11am appointment on Friday🙂Had a slight panic just now worried my progesterone level might be too high, lining too thick! Thanks for the reassurance. I hope your bleeding has stopped completely? Any more symptoms? Will you be testing prior to the blood test tomorrow?

I echo serendipity24 @wildhay @MotherOfShihTzus - use a FRER first thing tomorrow. I have stocked up on those!

Not caught up on comments yet but just a quick one. Is anyone exercising in the lead up to their FET?

blahblahetc · 17/04/2024 18:19

@lemons44 Yips I am, I go to the gym almost every morning. At the moment I'm only using the step-machine, and occasionally, the treadmill (I used to go to crazy classes). The step-machine is less strenuous and can get the heart rate up quite quickly. I am going easy on the stretching; I didn't listen to my mum when I fell pregnant naturally the first time; could be me overdoing it at the gym, could be an aneuploid...

I plan to go one last time tomorrow and then take it easy until I test.

Thanks @blahblahetc it's so hard in this process to know what's for the best. My clinic have told me NO exercise during the cycle but said walking is fine. My husband just said to me when does walking become classed as exercise ? as I've had three walks today to help my lining (1 x 40mins in the morning, 1 x 60 mins at lunch and 1 x 50 mins after work). They have been brisk walks. Now worrying I've made things worse by doing TOO much.
When you google ways to thicken uterine lining a lot comes up that says exercise so I thought this would be a positive but worrying it's a negative.
Eurgh this is stressful

blahblahetc · 17/04/2024 18:40

@lemons44 My doctor said ok to continue my usual routine when preparing for the FET; take it easy during stims, and take it easy after transfer. Are you naturally active? If so, you should be ok.. definitely do not overstretch though, I didn’t know accidentally stretching the endometrium was a thing!

Im surprised NO exercise is advised.. when is your next scan? Also, I have been soaking chia seeds in milk overnight and then eat that with citrusy fruit the next day. Chia seeds has a lot of good fats.

@lemons44 and how was your steak experience? 😁

Faith2024 · 17/04/2024 19:55

@lemons44 that is a lot of walking aren’t you exhausted? My clinic is also no/reduced workouts.

I read that the exercise thing is to do with diverting blood flow from uterus. But also if you regularly workout I think just reducing the intensity should be ok. Personally low intensity like walking sounds sensible but everyone has to do what’s best for their fitness level. There are people who continue to run throughout the process.

lemons44 · 17/04/2024 20:33

@Faith2024 @blahblahetc thanks both I think I probably did overdo it today just hoping I haven't messed up my chances now of the lining being thicker

I found this which I found useful:

ivfturkey.com/exercise-during-ivf-proven-dos-and-donts/

Faith2024 · 17/04/2024 21:07

@lemons44 I really doubt that would mess with your chances. Fingers crossed it’s better for next scan.

wildhay · 17/04/2024 21:24

@blahblahetc what was your lining? Mine was 11mm on the 10 day scan and bloods were 53 day before transfer, the clinic was very happy with both

Where are you buying FRERs from? I can't find them anywhere and read they'd been discontinued

I'm waiting to test again in the morning bit only have cheap sainsburys tests, trying not to get my hopes up

Serendipity24 · 17/04/2024 23:20

@blahblahetc yes the bleeding has stopped. Not sure about symptoms, I do feel some twitching and pulling sometimes but they are very short lived. I will do a FRER tomorrow as I found it really difficult to wait all day for the blood result last time.

@wildhay I bought mine from Amazon, it's showing in stock now.

Lasagne30 · 18/04/2024 02:41

Guys I took a test.
It's a positive.
My first ever in 6 years of TTC.
It's so surreal I don't really believe it haha 😂

blahblahetc · 18/04/2024 06:27

@Lasagne30 Congrats!! It’s soo good to see positive stories! Hoping it goes smoothly 🍀

@lemons44 Thanks for the link. I knew sex wasn’t allowed but didn’t know for that long! Although I had read that orgasms can disrupt the lining…

@wildhay Thanks for sharing, mine was 9mm on day 10 and 42.3 2 days before transfer. I’m reassured now I’m within the acceptable range. FRERs are available on Amazon now; but if they go out of stock again, try iHerb.

@Serendipity24 All sounding positive 🤞🏼 I really hope it’s a BFP for you! 🍀

Congratulations @Lasagne30 amazing news! 🎊

Took a 25mui sains test last night and this morning 7dp5dt, both showed a tiny weeny squinty line within time frame, phone can barely pick them up but since they've dried you can see it clearer, need to wait and test again tomorrow

Going to try and get hold of some FRERs today

Sunflower360 · 18/04/2024 07:19

@Lasagne30 congratulations! And good luck to those using FRERs today

wildhay · 18/04/2024 08:40

@MotherOfShihTzus did you test again today? Good luck 🤞

MotherOfShihTzus · 18/04/2024 08:45

Fantastic news @Lasagne30 !! So happy for you :)

@wildhay I did. I think it's a chemical, or if I'm wishful, a super slow growing, super late implanter 😞

Morning all, just catching up with yesterdays messages.

@blahblahetc my next scan is tomorrow (Friday) at 8am. Feel very nervous.

@beachbum85 @blahblahetc the steak wasn't the best experience for me 😬 poor DH is the biggest carnivore ever and looked on in horror as I insisted he cooked my expensive fillet steak so it was dry with not a speck of blood, and then proceeded to watch me drench it in BBQ sauce and yam it down my throat at the speed of light so I didn't have to taste it too much. I really dislike meat so it was a challenge. Last night I had my normal veggie chillie for dinner, which is made with beans and veggies, and DH fried up some beef mince for me to add to it, which was easier to eat. Happy I've managed two portions of red meat.

@Lasagne30 huge congrats 🎉

@Serendipity24 keeping everything crossed for you. What dpo are you now?

@wildhay fingers crossed for the FRER if you are able to get hold of one.

@MotherOfShihTzus I can definitely see something in the bottom two tests on your most recent pic. I hope it keeps getting darker for you. What dpo are you again?

xx

MotherOfShihTzus · 18/04/2024 09:59

@lemons44 well done on managing the red meat, that sounds challenging. Yes I reckon adapting trusted favourites would be more palatable 👍

I'm 9dp5dt - 6 day embryo. So not looking good really. The lines are clear in person, but in my experience, not strong enough. I frantically researched last night and there are success stories in my position, but I'm not feeling it. In my mind I'm planning my next round. Gonna go with my natural cycle as the progesterone issue could be counteracted by allowing me to ovulate. And for me, on these 2 chemicals, I've been on oestrogen, but wasn't on it on the round that gave me my son x

Serendipity24 · 18/04/2024 10:01

So I have tested. FRER is showing a clear positive, and the cheapie is showing a squinty line. For us it's been a long journey of over 6 years to get to even a positive and I feel happy but also very scared. Now just waiting to see what the blood test reveals, praying that the hcg level is okay for the stage.

@Lasagne30 congratulations! I totally get the surreal feeling!

@blahblahetc thank you and best wishes for the transfer tomorrow. 🍀Hope all goes smoothly. Have a safe journey.

@lemons44 thank you. I am 9dp5dt. You have done everything you could to get the lining thicker. Good luck for the scan tomorrow 🍀.

@wildhay and @MotherOfShihTzus hope the lines get darker and you get definitive results with more sensitive tests. 🍀

MotherOfShihTzus · 18/04/2024 10:07

@Serendipity24 so happy for you! ❤️ I know it's hard, but try to believe - this is your time :)
