Anyone else preparing for FET April 2024

blahblahetc · 19/02/2024 15:18

Hello, wondering if anyone is preparing for an FET in April?

This will be my 3rd transfer. 1st one implanted but early loss, second (euploid) and third (untested) did not implant. I'm waiting to do a hysteroscopy next week + an ERA following week prior to transfer in April.

We decided against testing this time, and are wondering whether or not to do a double transfer. Our embryos are AA/ABs so want to feel hopeful but fully aware of the possible failure(s) ahead of us..

@blahblahetc good luck with the upcoming transfer. Keep the hope alive & fingers crossed.

@Sunflower360 sorry to hear of the failed transfer, hopefully next one will be it.

I had my final EC today and it was my best cycle yet with 11 eggs retrieved. That’s the same as both cycle 1 & 2 combined. Of course they won’t all be mature so I will see what happens this week. Also a big week for us as we will know how many survive thaw and reach blastocyst stage/testing etc.

Sunflower360 · 16/04/2024 17:57

@blahblahetc thanks for the tip!

@charliegirl77 I just want to keep going with it, whether that is ECs or FETs whilst I can - at some point there will come a time to draw a line in the sand one way or another!

@Faith2024 thank you, I'm ok, will see what the next steps plan is. TBH I wouldn't mind just keeping it the same but with a double transfer but will see what the Dr advises

Faith2024 · 16/04/2024 18:03

@Sunflower360 sometimes it’s not about the protocol but embryo and people have had success by keeping everything the same so by just continuing to try it may well be enough.

I know you mentioned thyroid antibodies I found out through screening I had some but borderline and not significant enough to impact thyroid function. My doctor did she we will look at it at transfer stage (hoping we will get there) so just wondering if it’s just a bit more steroids.

lemons44 · 16/04/2024 18:43

Thanks @Serendipity24 and @beachbum85 I've already been eating nuts/seeds, oily fish, veggies and a daily glass of Pom juice. Just made my DH go to the shops to buy beetroot and steak so I can have some red meat. I've actually been pescatarian for about 15 years so will be interesting to see how this goes down 😳🤣 but I just want to do everything I possibly can. I've now got an hourly alarm on my phone that goes off at quarter to the hour, to prompt me to stand up from my desk and do some hip circles. I'm also Increasing my 1hour daily walk to add another half hour one in the evening. Not sure what else I can do but cross my fingers really 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Serendipity24 keeping everything crossed there's no more blood and that it turns out to be a positive sign !!

@wildhay so sorry ☹️ hope you're being kind to yourself this evening 💗

@blahblahetc @Serendipity24 I put my tablet in my mouth and take a selfie on my phone of the tablet on my tongue 🤣 that way I can always check back and obviously phone pictures are time stamped too. I am SO forgetful that it's the only way I can relax about all the different IVF meds.

So sorry @charliegirl77 ☹️ sending a big hug 💗

Amazing news @Faith2024 hopefully lots are mature!!

Sunflower360 · 16/04/2024 19:02

@Faith2024 well I'm euthroid thryoid antibodies in that my TSH is what they would like it to be. I had it tested last week in readiness of going into another cycle and it was under 2. I think Prednisolone has had mixed studies but is worth trying as its minimal impact in the short term. On the plus side my Hayfever symptoms are non existent because of the steroids which is great! 😂

Sunflower360 · 16/04/2024 19:07

@Faith2024 also 11 is a good number of eggs, good luck for your day 3 update!

Serendipity24 · 16/04/2024 19:17

Thanks @lemons44 . And taking a photo with the pill on the tongue is purely genius, it made me laugh too 😂

blahblahetc · 16/04/2024 19:46

@lemons44 🤣🤣🤣I might use an excel tracker like I used to, just thought everything is on autopilot after so long!

Faith2024 · 16/04/2024 19:58

@Sunflower360 oh my goodness the same! I have all year dust allergy and have prescribed antihistamines from GP which I had to stop taking from prep month. It’s a bit annoying at times and can get desperate but when I was on low dose steroids during my stim cycles it was heaven, like zero symptoms.

@lemons44 thank you. The picture is a great trick, I use phone alarms but will keep it in mind for the next stage.

blahblahetc · 16/04/2024 19:59

@charliegirl77 So sorry.. remind me, are you going straight into another FET?

Thanks @Faith2024 🍀for many many good quality embryos!

And @lemons44 you only have a few mm to meet so hopefully it thickens quickly, when is the next scan?

beachbum85 · 17/04/2024 11:39

@wildhay I'm really sorry about your BFN but 5dp5dt is pretty early. I definitely wouldn't give up hope till 8dp5dt, even with no symptoms. Hang in there, it's a tough journey and I feel the end of the tww is the worst part... sending you love xxx

@charliegirl77 I'm so sorry your chemical was confirmed 💔 have you thought about next steps or are you taking some time out for now? Sending hugs xxx

@lemons44 sounds you're totally on it! How did the steak go after all those years?? I used to crave steak when I was pregnant, after a few years of minial meat intake!
hahaha your selfie of the tablet on your tongue really made me laugh 🤣 such a good idea!!!

@blahblahetc yes I'm 8dp5dt too, and I totally get your nervousness about the tww... nothing good about waiting! Will you get your progesterone results tomorrow?

@Faith2024 that's a great number of eggs! best of luck with your fertilisation update and all the updates over the next few days and weeks xxx

@Sunflower360 how are you? I hope your follow-up goes well today!

@waitingforourmiracle great to hear you've got your transfer booked in - best of luck for Monday!

@Serendipity24 @MotherOfShihTzus @Lasagne30 @2024forthewin @Lozzy000 and everyone else who's PUPO, how's the tww going? have you started testing yet? I hope everyone is feeling well xxx

Sunflower360 · 17/04/2024 11:52

Update from me.... going into my 3rd FET. Will have a scan next week to check blood flow as AF arrived today-if not good will abandon and go on Clexane the following cycle, if its fine will be able to proceed this cycle. Also will have Progesterone tested before trigger to ensure its low (shouldn't be elevated before transfer) and also on transfer day to ensure its adequate. Also will have a double transfer, unless the day 3 turns into a really good embryo in which case will stick with 1 again. Prednisolone staying the same-as I've been on it for 2 months on a low dose that is equivalent to a shorter period on a higher dose, plus my lack of Hayfever symptoms shows its doing something... enough to prevent miscarriage not sure yet, but apparently TPOab would not have an effect on implantation so is likely abnormal embryos. Risk with double transfer is that a miscarriage could result in losing both-with immunology issues miscarriage is a risk in any case so will see what happens this time. Aim being put in two in the hope one sticks as I'm feeling my euploid rate is perhaps not great, if I felt they would both be euploid then I may have decided against it. So hard to decide what to do for the best!

Sunflower360 · 17/04/2024 11:57

@beachbum85 thanks, think our messages crossed over, hope you're ok!

blahblahetc · 17/04/2024 13:54

Yes, @beachbum85 progesterone result just in 42.3nmol/L - is that too high? Is it going to be too high on transfer day? How are you today? Hats off to all late/on-time testers!! I don't have that willpower..

@Sunflower360 That's exactly my logic with transferring 2... I know at least one of them isn't normal. I've asked for my 4AA and 4BB to be transfered together and not gotten any challenges. Hope the weaker one doesn't bring the other down! Good AF has arrived and you can progress quickly, hopefully without delays.

@wildhay Have you tested again today?

OP posts:
Sunflower360 · 17/04/2024 13:56

@blahblahetc 42 nmol is good, mine was 69 nmol day before transfer and was deemed ok

Sunflower360 · 17/04/2024 13:56

I think 'too high' would be so much higher

wildhay · 17/04/2024 14:11

Good luck @Sunflower360 and that's amazing news on the eggs @Faith2024

Thank you for letting me join, I'm feeling much better today... Well I was, woke up did another cheap test and a sains cheapish stick test, I was kind of rushed as getting up late to take my daughter to nursery, I was in and out the bathroom within 7 mins, both tests looked negative I didn't really dwell

Had a good chat with DH after nursery drop off, blamed it on a poor embryo (we've not done testing) and trying to rationalise it in my head and look towards the next transfer likely in June due to planned hols... About to jump in the bath and decided to recheck the tests from this morning as I'm a fool, and the sains test has a vvvvvvfl 😩 I'm in such limbo, it's hours and hours late to check, so most likely an evap but it's so faint maybe it did show within the 10 min time frame as I didn't stay and wait that long this morning

So all I can do is get another test and wait for FMU! Such a game of emotions

I hope everyone is well

Here's my crazy 7hour outside the time frame test

Sunflower360 · 17/04/2024 14:13

@wildhay I can see a line but as you say best to be cautious as it could be evap line. Fingers crossed its a positive though. How many dpdt are you?

MotherOfShihTzus · 17/04/2024 14:15

Hey @beachbum85 in a bit of limbo here. Was doing so well not testing, then got the call about yesterday progesterone; it's gone up from 27 to 31.1 only. Which of course caused a panic and a dash to test. Almost imperceivable positive maybe, but at 8dp5dt - I'd expect more. My previous 2 fresh cycles (my son and a chemical) were clear positives by 7dp5dt. This is my first full FET. So a now (even more stressful!) waiting game for me! Either a chemical or later bloomer.

How's everyone else holding up? Recommend NOT testing 😂

I'm 6dp5dt and trying hard not to hold my breath, no symptoms, and it's highly likely an evap, not read good things about sains tests

@MotherOfShihTzus its impossible for me not to test, I've done it every transfer I've had after telling myself not to 😒 also frustrating when you can see a little line yourself but your phone refuses to pick it up!

This pic might be 'slightly' better - I'm grasping at straws! It was about my 6/7th wee of the day too - desperately hoping. I promise it's there!

Serendipity24 · 17/04/2024 15:21

@Faith2024 that's great news about your EC. Hope you keep getting good news in the coming days 🍀

@blahblahetc 42.3 nmol/L is not too high. I had 41 the day before transfer. I think anything above 100 would be considered high. When are you flying to Prague?

@wildhay it's highly unlikely that a cheapie will give any decisive result at 6dp5dt, it's just too early. I would recommend you get FRER for your next test.

Same for you @MotherOfShihTzus , get a FRER!

Good luck to everyone testing 🍀

Serendipity24 · 17/04/2024 15:32

@Sunflower360 glad that you have a plan in place now. If you don't mind me asking, how are they going to check the blood flow? You mentioned scan, so are they going to look at the lining and determine blood flow from that? Is there a different measurement for blood flow? Sorry if I am asking stupid questions.

@beachbum85 I am doing okay, just waiting for tomorrow's blood test now. Waiting is painful 🙁
