I haven't ovulated for 4 months - advice/stories of hope?

Hi,

I had been someone who ovulated consistently, but then in October 2023 I had a long cycle and it was confirmed with a progesterone test that I did not ovulate that month. I don't think I've ovulated since then because I haven't had the usual signal that I used to get, such as changes in cervical mucus, increased libido etc. I found out in October that I have very low AMH. I'm just worried whether this is it now and I have no more eggs. I had a scan in December and had an antral follicle count of 1. We were looking to start ivf in Feb, but part of me just thinks what's the point if I may have no eggs. Does anyone in a similar situation have advice or a story of hope?

I don’t have any experience with this but just wanted to send you good wishes. I’m sure it must be really hard. My only advice would be to speak to a fertility consultant and see if there’s anything they could put you on.
As ive gotten older I’ve definitely noticed less symptoms of my ovulation, I only I have from taking my temperature and seeing it rise after, maybe you could also try temping for a while?
I’ve got a low follicle count too, I think it can vary month to month, so maybe you were tested on a bad month?
Keeping my fingers crossed for you. x

Follicle count does vary month to month.

If you're going to start IVF I would recommend to read the book "It starts with the egg" and start the supplements at least 3-4 months before starting IVF.

Is there a chance you have PCOS? That could cause lack of Ovulation, Myo inositol or Ovasitol may help with that.

I would also suggest trying temping to confirm ovulation, i am on my third cycle of doing it and i find it so reassuring to know its happened and also that I’ve not missed it as my cycles are varying a bit after a tfmr.

Thanks so much for your replies. All of this is just so hard when you want it so desperately. I'd give anything to turn the clock back 5 years or so. I had an antral follicle count of 3 yesterday so here's hoping there's some good eggs left. Wishing all of you the best too xx
