Success on round 4+ of letrozole?

Just confirmed my 3rd failed letrozole cycle. Ovulated all 3 cycles, DH sperm fine, me fine, unexplained fertility

Has anyone had any success on their 4th round plus of letrozole?

I'm feeling utterly utterly depressed and miserable. I heard the average was 3 months.

@mrsmesx so sorry for this. I am on my first cycle of letrozole and 2 dpo, so dont have any adivce. But also unexplained, everything is normal and I know how frustrating it is. My dr recommend to do 2 or 3 rounds letrozole without iui and if unsuccessful will proceed with ivf

That's interesting they only want to do 2-3 rounds

so sorry to hear you’re feeling low.
I did 3 rounds of letrozole - they didn’t work and the option was to keep trying for 3 more (my doctor also said maximum was 6 times) or go for IVF straight away. I was 35 so didn’t want to waste more time so we chose to proceed with IVF. I’ve read lots of success stories with Letrozole on what to expect (another fertility forum) have you looked there hun? x

My 4th round of letrozole worked! I'm now 6 weeks pregnant

@mrsmesx aww congratulations so happy for you . I have pcos for years. I started letrozole in December . Was monitored for the 1st cycle . I responded well with one dominant follicle. Had a 30 days cycle . 2nd cycle took letrozole again but negative again and had a 29days cycle. Now done my 3rs letrozole and I’m cd 37 and AF hasn’t shown up . I havnt done a test yet. I’m going to test on Monday . Just wondering if I ovulated on 2 cycles is it possible not to ovulate on your next cycle with letrozole. I did feel the ovulation pains similar to cycle 1 and 2

We were both absolutely in total and utter shock! We still are to be honest haha
We already have an 18 month old so yes my hands are going to be full haha

Was your cycle unmonitored?

starting my first letrozole cycle soon so excited! I wouldn't mind twins BUT at this point i'll take one 🤣

Yes unmonitored. It was my 4th cycle, my first one was monitored but after that unmonitored

I was on letrozole for unexplained fertility so I was already ovulating anyway. So I suppose it makes sense that I double ovulated! Although doc did say the chance of twins is less than 5% haha

I just got my positive this morning. The test said wait 5 mins for result. The line appeared within 10 seconds . Didn’t even get time to the flush the toilet 😂😂 this was my 3rd letrozole cycle

@mrsmesx I have no idea how many dpo I am as I didn’t track ovulation because it was stressing me out. So what I did with my first let I ovulated on cd 15 so I just followed that pattern. I had ovulation pains on 14th feb yep valentines 😂. I just did a clear blue one and it says pregnant 3+weeks x

I really needed to read these positive stories today. I'm on my first round of letrozole which has been monitored and I've responded really well. I ovulated and progesterone was really high. Honestly thought I was pregnant had cramping all the way through the TWW but had been testing since 7 DPO getting BFN when I got to 15 DPO yesterday I knew I wasn't, and low ans behold AF is showing up anytime soon will be interested to know what dosage you girls were on?
I'm on 2.5 and then not planning on changing that for this cycle does that sound right

@mrsmesx So delighted to hear that Letrozole worked for! Do you mind me asking what dosage you were on?

I had one round on 2.5, and then 2 rounds on 5mg and my fourth and successful round was 7.5mg

I know this post is from a year ago now but it's exactly what I needed to see! Hope you and your babies are all well.
I am about to take my 1st dose of my 4th round of letrozole this evening feeling all the feels...hoping and praying this is our cycle to conceive our 2nd miracle. Diagnosed with PCOS and TTC for almost 3yrs...our 1st was conceived naturally within 3months of trying!
Please let this be our cycle...
