FET in November

We're planning on having our first FET in November. Anyone else as well?

I'd love to hear your thoughts on natural vs medicated. My clinic prefers medicated but I'd rather take the least amount of hormones. Succes rates seem to be similar.

For context, after the stimulation phase 22 eggs were collected of which 16 were mature and I did a share program in which they were equally divided. So I received 8 mature eggs and 4 fertilised of which we got 3 embryos. As I was at a risk of developing overstimulation, the embryos were frozen. That's been a huge relief and I hope I can help someone else as well.

As I'm sure many of you have experienced, it's been challenging to get through the first stage. I've had quite a lot of physical and mental side effects. Does anyone else still feel bad a week after egg collection?

@S1234P how are your symptoms? Hope you're still testing positive.

@Elkly88 fingers crossed the blood test will give you answers! I think these home tests are not really reliable to measure progress.

I'm going from thinking I'm pregnant and quietly planning on my head (e.g. due date, clothes etc I know I shouldn't do that as it'll only be more sad if I test negative or loose the embryo) to being convinced I'm having my period and this failed. Keep telling myself to be more patient - such a rollercoaster!

@IVFgothope - so far so good, I've been testing everyday even though I said I wouldn't! I got a 2-3 weeks on the clear blue and hope that will be a 3+ next week, but I'm also doing tests with the lines hoping they get darker, which I think they have so far. I had a bit of nausea yesterday but not sure that would be due to this as it's so early and I usually get nausea at 5/6 weeks.

@Elkly88 - rooting for you!! I hope the blood test gives you the answers you want! But the waiting is so frustrating

@LuckyPineapple - how are you doing? Is your scan next week?

Also does anyone know - once you test positive, is your due date still taken from the first day of your last period?

LuckyPineapple · 29/11/2023 12:17

@S1234P Congratulations getting your positive 🎉 Thats exciting!

I'm doing ok, still feeling anxious. I don't want to eat much in the mornings and tired earlier. Yes, scan is next Tuesday I'll be 7weeks 5 days then. Feeling more anxious as the days go on.

You can do ivf due date calculator online. It'll ask date of transfer and whether it was a day 3 or day 5. I went with that because my cycle was suppressed before FET so first day of last period wouldn't work.

S1234P · 29/11/2023 12:43

@LuckyPineapple - thank you so much, putting everything into making sure it sticks :)

That's so exciting almost 8 weeks then and over half way through!! Is this your first pregnancy? And once you have the ok at the scan do you have to go back to the NHS then?

Thanks for the IVF calculator! That's so helpful :) xx

MENTS

Hi all. Hope you don't mind me jumping onto the thread but feeling very anxious as we've finally had our first ever bfp after 5 implantation failures and many years ttc. We had our fet on 17th November, and blood test came back with 920 hcg level. We have our first scan in two weeks and I am so so nervous. I don't know how I'm going to get through the next two weeks. We were diagnosed with high uterine nk cells and added prednisolone to my protocol, so I guess I'm just worried that this could cause a miscarriage. but fingers crossed the meds do what they should !!!
any tips for the next two weeks?
many thanks

kblue1 · 29/11/2023 17:59

Hey @mjet

congrats! And fingers crossed this is your time 🤞

im going to test 1st time tomorrow morning 😬

how did you go about getting tested with nk cells?

kblue1 · 29/11/2023 18:28

A work friend told me that pineapple was meant to help with implantation. I’ve been eating tins of it 😆

mjet · 29/11/2023 18:49

@kblue1
I went down to Warwick miscarriage/implantation clinic. it's a patient funded nhs research clinic so you still have to pay for the uterine biopsy which was around £860.

LuckyPineapple · 29/11/2023 19:36

@S1234P Yes, this is my first pregnancy. I know, the time is going quickly and slow in some ways if that makes sense. It's awful that I'm nearly wishing weeks away just in hope of feeling less anxious but there's no guarantee to that. It just changes from one thing to another 🙈

How are you symptoms wise?

LuckyPineapple · 29/11/2023 19:41

@mjet Congratulations on your bfp 🎉 Especially after all the heartbreak you've had. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

S1234P · 29/11/2023 21:32

Good luck @kblue1 for tomorrow - I'll have everything crossed for you!!

@LuckyPineapple - I'm ok so far - I think I'm feeling a little nauseous mostly in the evening but otherwise ok so far. I usually feel intense symproms atn5/6 weeks so just willing to make it until then!

It's so normal to wish the weeks away (I'm doing the same) but from past experience I think once you can feel the baby move it really puts your mind at ease!

@mjet congratulations on your bfp!! I'm sure the meds will do what they have to! I think the best thing to do is keep yourself busy but also allow yourself to rest when you want to! Personally I would do any form of selfcare to keep me distracted. My clinic don't offer a blood test to check HCG levels and my official test date is on Monday, so I think I'm going to be a bag of nerves leading up to the scan too!!

kblue1 · 30/11/2023 11:13

Although my brain is registering a smidge of a shadow on an IC I think my eyes are deceiving me. I’m calling negative today. I’ll test again tomorrow…

anyone else tested today?

IVFgothope · 01/12/2023 11:13

How was your test today @kblue1?

I'm testing tomorrow!

S1234P · 01/12/2023 11:23

Good luck @IVFgothope @kblue1 - sending baby dust your way x

LuckyPineapple · 01/12/2023 11:38

@IVFgothope @kblue1 Good luck for testing! Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

@S1234P How are you getting on? My nausea was pretty awful yesterday and not great today. Smells in particular are a really trigger.

IVFgothope · 01/12/2023 23:29

Thank you! My partner came home and we didn't want to wait longer with testing. I did 2 different tests and they are both BFP! The lines are very clear which we didn't expect. It's a relief to know that I can be pregnant as it's the first time I've tested positive with a pregnancy test.

LuckyPineapple · 02/12/2023 10:07

@IVFgothope That's brilliant news!! Congratulations 🎉 I know how you feel, I had never seen a positive test before mine. It's such a surreal feeling! I'm so happy for you!

S1234P · 02/12/2023 10:22

Hi @IVFgothope , that's amazing news, congratulations :) was yesterday your official test day?

@LuckyPineapple - my symptoms seems to be the same so far: very mild nausea that comes and goes and quite thirsty. With my precious losses and I'm just constantly on edge, I keep doing pregnancy tests and seeing if they're getting darker (I feel like they all look the same now though!). My clinic doesn't offer a free blood test to check hcg levels, so I'm even contemplating paying - any advice on this?

@kblue1@mjet @hja62 how are you all doing? X

IVFgothope · 02/12/2023 10:36

Thank you so much @LuckyPineapple & @S1234P!

It's indeed a surreal feeling, keep checking them to make sure I'm not imagining this. I did a clear blue this morning and that was also positive. Today is 9 days post 5 day transfer and my clinic does a blood test on the official test day which is next Tuesday (12 days).

OP posts:
IVFgothope · 02/12/2023 10:44

@S1234P I can imagine your anxiety. If my clinic did not offer the free blood test, I would have almost certainly paid for one to check the hcg level. I think it will offer me either some peace of mind or an indication that it might be a chemical one.

BambiOnIce80 · 02/12/2023 12:28

Hi Ladies, I hope I'm not too late to join you? I'm very lucky to have DS from transfer number 3 in 2021, and now we're hoping lightening can strike twice 🤞🏻 I had a FET on the 15th of November and got a positive blood test at 9dp5dt, so should be 5+1 today. I'm driving myself nuts worrying before the 7 week scan, so it'd be nice to jump on a thread with people who get it ❤️

@S1234P I completely understand the worry. I had a MMC at 11 weeks with my first transfer and then a CP with transfer number 2. I've had to step away from the tests though - they just make me worry even more! Desperately trying to keep myself distracted instead and failing!

mjet · 02/12/2023 15:17

aw massive congratulations @IVFgothope !! so so happy for you.

it was our first ever positive as well.

@BambiOnIce80 congratulations to you too. that's amazing news.

@S1234P totally feel you, I've been doing tests every day even though it's pointless now doing them I think. the blood test did help, although I've now been looking at paying for a private one so I can see the levels rising and doubling. this journey makes you go crazy. I don't think I will though because I have to have the scan on the 13 th either way so I might as well enjoy this little bubble as much as I can. what date is your scan?

I havent got many symptoms yet, thirsty, tired just. I wouldnt mind some more symptoms so it feels more real though. Im also not sure what's just the meds I'm on as well.

NatW2021 · 02/12/2023 19:10

@IVFgothope Congratulations 💕💕

IVFgothope · 02/12/2023 19:57

Thank you @NatW2021 that is very kind!

How are you feeling? Hope your Dr appointment will go well.

S1234P · 02/12/2023 20:32

@IVFgothope - I think I will get a blood test but then I'm wondering if it will just drive me more crazy. It's soo hard - I've had a chemical loss at 5 weeks as well as MMC at 6/12/14 weeks so I just feel in limbo a little bit!

@BambiOnIce80 - glad to have you on board! I feel the same - huge anxiety about the scan but I think I need to stop testing. They're showing a definite positive but I just don't know if the lines are getting much darker now.

@mjet - My official test date is tomorrow so I think my scan with be the week of the 18th - it just feels so far away lol I literally am just wishing the first trimester away which feel a bit sad! But I think you're doing the right thing in enjoying the bubble :) I also do like watching the test show/say pregnant.
