FET in November

IVFgothope · 05/10/2023 23:43

We're planning on having our first FET in November. Anyone else as well?

I'd love to hear your thoughts on natural vs medicated. My clinic prefers medicated but I'd rather take the least amount of hormones. Succes rates seem to be similar.

For context, after the stimulation phase 22 eggs were collected of which 16 were mature and I did a share program in which they were equally divided. So I received 8 mature eggs and 4 fertilised of which we got 3 embryos. As I was at a risk of developing overstimulation, the embryos were frozen. That's been a huge relief and I hope I can help someone else as well.

As I'm sure many of you have experienced, it's been challenging to get through the first stage. I've had quite a lot of physical and mental side effects. Does anyone else still feel bad a week after egg collection?

Hi @hja62, oh I hope your migraines get better. Not to fill you with false hope but headaches were a side effect for me in my last pregnancy (unfortunately I lost the baby at 14 weeks). I'm 6dp5dt and I did test yesterday which had a faint bfp, which is really pleasing. I had a couple of very small symptoms that made me want to test early but even now I'm bag of nerves though being quietly optimistic. But it's still so early, so I hope your positive comes quickly x

hja62 · 27/11/2023 12:58

@S1234P congratulations !!! I’m so delighted to hear that!! When is your beta? What symptoms made you test??

I took paracetomal which is helping but I still beat myself up for taking it in case it stops this working! I hate the TWW….

S1234P · 27/11/2023 13:08

@hja62 thank you so much, that's so kind of you to say :) I find the community here so uplifting, everyone is really rooting for people to get their bfp. My official test date is next Monday, which is 13dp5dt. My symptoms only really occurred on Saturday, we went to our local xmas light switch on and I came home and fell into a deep nap at 7:30 which was strange. This is TMI so apologies but I also woke up on Saturday morning in a cold sweat (my top soaking through which is horrible), this usually happens a couple of days before my period is due, but it was far too early and I experienced this last time I was pregnant too. So that prompted me to test and I thought if it's neg I won't be too disappointed as it's still early.

Also paracetamol won't hinder your chances - it'll probably worse to suffer along! xx

hja62 · 27/11/2023 13:41

@S1234P oh wow! Very specific symptoms! I’m definitely feeling exhausted but I’m sure that in the progesterone - I’ve been feeling like it for a few days so it would have been too early for pregnancy symptoms. Last night though I had some very uncomfortable period-like cramps. It went on for about 2 hours and I was sure AF was coming super early. Nothing today now so I’m really hoping it was implantation cramps….!

S1234P · 27/11/2023 13:45

@hja62 I have everything crossed for you!! Hopefully they are implantation cramps :) when is your official test day?

I know my symptoms have always been quite specific (with my first I had quite loose stools in the lead up which again was so strange and I later found out it was symptom). I've also had a blocked nose midway through the first trimester where my sinuses block from the excess blood - it's really so bizarre!! Lol

IVFgothope · 27/11/2023 16:10

@hja62 sorry to hear about your migraines and please try not to feel bad about taking paracetamol. Hope it helps!

I'm also struggling with work, feeling so exhausted and the weather doesn't help. I have some very slight bleeding today which I often have just before my period but I read it could also be implantation bleeding.

@S1234P congrats on your faint positive! That's so exciting. It's interesting to read about your symptoms, are bodies work in such strange ways.

@NatW2021 how are you doing?

OP posts:
NatW2021 · 27/11/2023 16:26

@S1234P congratulations so very promising.

@IVFgothope thanks for checking in, it's been an awful weekend full of tears and honestly don't think I've been so heartbroken in the 2 1/2 years TTC. I stopped my progesterone on Saturday, did a FRER yday still stark negative so I'm comfortable with my decision and now waiting for my period. Whilst me and DH are feeling low we decided we can't keep up this level of misrableness as it's not healthy so I've tried my best to not let myself overthink of all the possible horrible outcomes today and feel a little better. I've got a follow up a week today with my DR.

How are you? X

IVFgothope · 27/11/2023 18:34

@NatW2021 I'm sorry to hear you tested negative again. I can imagine that's really sad and frustrating. Hope the meeting with your dr helps next week.

@Lebe14 I'm quietly hoping your period has arrived...how are you?

Lebe14 · 27/11/2023 20:02

@IVFgothope unfortunately not ☹️ thanks for checking in. Tomorrow is the cut off for baseline scans until 27 December. I'm now on day 36 of my cycle - which are usually around 25 days. So I'm definitely not having my transfer before Xmas. I also think my cycle won't sync for December, so highly likely we'll need to wait until January. Gutted. Might see if my clinic will provide something in December to hold off my period, so I can start end of December instead. Will see what they say.

@hja62 so sorry to hear about your migraines. Migraines are the worst and make you feel so lousy - hopefully they calm down soon. Sorry to hear about your negative test too - it's still sooo early so hopefully it turns into a positive nearer to your official test date.

@S1234P congrats on your faint BFP - that's great news!

@NatW2021 I hope your follow up next week with your dr goes okay. IVF is certainly a roller coaster - make sure you're kind to yourself xx

Lebe14 · 27/11/2023 20:02

@IVFgothope when is test day for you?! x

IVFgothope · 27/11/2023 20:35

@Lebe14 damn that's annoying. Periods never seem to arrive when you want them to.

My official test day is Tuesday 5th December but we'll be testing this Saturday.

Lebe14 · 27/11/2023 20:48

@IVFgothope ahh exciting. Fingers crossed for Saturday! Good luck xx

kblue1 · 27/11/2023 22:26

Hi 👋
Hope it’s ok to join, I realise this is quite a busy thread and I’m a little late to the convo.
First IVF and I’m 4dp3dt
I hope you’re all well x

IVFgothope · 27/11/2023 22:29

Thank you @Lebe14! I'm sure I'll be quite emotional either way. My partner is a lot more rational which will be helpful.

Welcome @kblue1! How are you feeling? I had my first transfer as well, last Thursday with a 5 day embryo. X

OP posts:
kblue1 · 27/11/2023 22:44

Thank you
Me too last Thursday! but a 3 day. Went with what they recommended, all very new to me, I’ve got no clue!

hja62 · 28/11/2023 08:56

@NatW2021 I’m so sorry to hear this cycle didn’t work for you. IVF is so so cruel. It feels like being kicked over and over when you’re already down. I hope the follow up with your doctor gives you some options going forward.

I tested again this morning, 5dp5dt and got BFN. I’m holding out a little hope but deep down I know I’m out. I’ve always got BFP by this point in my previous cycles. TMI but this morning I also had loads of EWCM. I don’t know what is going on. I think my hormones are all over the place and my body just wasn’t ready for these embryos.

IVFgothope · 28/11/2023 10:34

@hja62 so sorry to hear you had a BFN today. I can imagine that's sad when you've always had a positive on day 5 previously. Could it be that it may take longer to test positive with 2 embryos? I have no idea but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for you. Xx

OP posts:
IVFgothope · 28/11/2023 10:35

I was just wondering how old you all are? No need to respond if you don't want to or don't feel comfortable! I'm 36 :)

OP posts:
hja62 · 28/11/2023 11:18

@IVFgothope I doubt it, if anything I would have thought I’d got a BFP earlier with two. I’ll test again tonight and again in the morning. I’m 33 to answer your other question!

hja62 · 29/11/2023 07:26

How is everyone today? BFN again this morning 6dp5dt.

kblue1 · 29/11/2023 08:46

@IVFgothope
im 40 - ttc for 3 years, too many mc’s

@hja62 6dp3dt today and feeling nothing, no symptoms. Sorry about bfn but still time!

im gona test out a cheap one step tomorrow

IVFgothope · 29/11/2023 08:57

@hja62 I'm sorry to hear that :(

@kblue1 good luck tomorrow!

I had a little bleeding over the past 2 days which my clinic says is implantation bleeding but freaks me out as I keep thinking it's my period.

Which tests are you all using? I'm thinking of using 3 different 6 day early ones at the same time this Saturday: a clear blue one, shop branded one and cheap one from Amazon.

IVFgothope · 29/11/2023 09:03

@Elkly88 how are you? Is it your official test date?

OP posts:
S1234P · 29/11/2023 10:31

Hi @hja62, I'm so sorry to hear that :( it is still early but I know how crushing the bfn can be - still I have fingers crossed for you

@kblue1 - that sounds so difficult but good luck for tomorrow!!

@IVFgothope , how are you feeling? I've only used the clear blue early detection and the weeks one. I've always found them pretty accurate

Elkly88 · 29/11/2023 10:42

Morning @IVFgothope . Yeah it's today- just did the test and it was positive. I've been getting positives for a week but they're not getting any darker and any symptoms I did have have disappeared, so we feel like it's a chemical pregnancy. We're trying to get blood tests arranged to confirm now.

Hope you're doing OK?
