IVF freeze all cycle - how long till your next period?

Hey,

I am going through IVF. Last month we managed to get 2 embryos but because my progesterone levels were too high the clinic decided to do a freeze all transfer rather than putting a fresh embryo back in. I have to wait for my next period then I can start a natural cycle.

A few days after egg retrieval I bled (I was told this wasn't a period but it lasted 7 days and didn't half feel like one). Since then it's been 35 days and no whiff of my next period. I'm definitely not pregnant.

I just wondered if anyone else has had a freeze all transfer and how long it took for their period to arrive?

I bled about 6 days after egg retrieval (withdrawal bleed - same as period) and then had a period 38 days after (approx 45 days after egg collection). I tracked ovulation so knew it was coming. Fingers crossed for you!

Hey! Would love to know how you got on - I just had egg collection on Friday. 8 eggs collected 6 mature but only 2 fertilised :( will find out tomorrow if they have made it to day 3. Feeling very anxious and hopeless. I also have high oestrogen so have been told it’s a freeze cycle. Really hope that I get my period fairly soon the waiting is horrible! I did a freeze all cycle and had the 'withdrawal' bleed 10 days after EC. My next actual period was 5 days later than usual (usually have a 26 day cycle). I've read lots of others having a late period after the withdrawal bleed, so seems pretty usual xx

@ElRo28 Hey, sounds like we are in exactly the same, i had egg collection on 21st September also got 2 embryos frozen but didn't have a fresh transfer due to high progesterone.

I'm still waiting for my withdrawal bleed think I'm about day 10 now but definitely feel like it's coming, im starting my FET on my next period so likely November time.

Its so horrible waiting isnt it! This is my first cycle but i has a cycle cancelled in July due to poor response but second attempt was much better but now having to wait again to transfer.

It's arrived! 36 days. Thank goodness. Thanks for your responses everyone! With hindsight now I can see all the tell tale signs it was coming just they were more drawn out this month.

I have had the same thing happen to me, my EC is this morning but I had a call yesterday to say my progesterone was too high. For some reason the nurse said I had to wait until my third bleed which seems so long! But it seems you and most people had your first post retrieval bleed and then started on your next period?
How did your FET go in the end?

Hello, yes I went in for my FET in October. It didn't work unfortunately. Also that month at the start of my cycle I got covid and my ovulation was sooo late. I'm sure it had something to do with it. I wasn't able to do the next (and final) FET in November due to bureaucracy which was frustrating and then in December they were shut for Xmas/NY! So hopefully this month I try again. I did a natural cycle tho. If you're doing a medicated one then it does take about 8 weeks. But seems like I've had to wait 3 months in the end anyway.

@ElRo28 my clinic never allowed FET in the cycle after the fresh, and as all my 3 fresh transfers were not successful it always felt so unnecessary to wait, and the cycle would be extra long. After fresh in May I only got to do FET at the end of July.
