Hello Everyone
I have been referred from the GP to St Bart Hospital on 19 of June , i went to my first consultation on the 16th of August, and i have done with my husband all the Investigation Test .
We have our follow-up appointment on the 24th of October (can't wait) . Anyone knows how long does it takes from follow-up appointment to start the actual journey ?

Many thanks in advance

Hi OP, I’ve just returned from my very first egg collection from Barts on my first cycle. I was referred by my GP back in May and had our first consultation in June which required a load of various tests - blood samples, scans, hycosy, semen etc. Some need to occur on certain days of your cycle which is why it can take a bit longer. We could have started IVF earlier in September but were on holidays etc so just started our first cycle last month. I just turned 39 but all my stats were pretty good, AMH 34.5, good number of antral follicles and they collected 12 eggs today.
Once you start your cycle, things move really quickly. They are amazing and you’ll be going into the clinic every couple of days. The consultants all have a meeting every afternoon at around 3pm to check on progress, look at stats and will make adjustments if needed. I’ve had calls to adjust my dosage and it seemed to have worked out better.

I’ll hear from the embryologist tomorrow to see if they’ve fertilized. Keeping my fingers crossed they’ll make it to day 5 blasts.

Good luck to you!!

Just also be aware that there’s a cut off date for new cycles closer to Christmas as they don’t do start until the near year. I think it might be mid-late November so just email them to chase up. They don’t pick up the phones but they always respond over email.

Hi, how long did it take for your referral to come through from the GP?

I had a transfer earlier this month and they told me that there’s no waiting list at the moment. My GP referral was in May last year and originally they gave me a first appointment in September but then called to give me an earlier appointment in June. I’m waiting to start my next cycle which they’ve booked me in for first week of April.

Thank you, that’s good to know. Good luck for your second cycle!!

Heyy guys, please I could use a little help as I totally just frustrated with Bart’s at the moment mainly the admin team.
I had my appointment on 15th June all are investigation was done privately to ensure it speed up the process as I heard it could take months for certain test now.

the appointment went straight forward was ask to do blood test. Was told our file was with the consultant and they would get back to me still haven’t heard anything. Now I am being told the file is with the specialist nurse. I am so confused with the their process. In our initial appointment we agreed on a treatment plan on IVF ICSI.

please can someone breakdown how their process works for me and if they most like sent my paper work for funding off or would we need another appointment before that happens
