5w+4 via ICSI IVF - Blood/bleeding this morning

I'm 11 days away from my 7 week scan and had a little showing of blood with a clot this morning. Has anyone had experience with this? And if you have did you go on to have a pregnancy!? So many thoughts going around my head, I'm heart broken to think I could have lost it 💔

Seeing any bleeding is so triggering isn't it. A bit of spotting/bleeding can be normal in pregnancy and is more common with IVF pregnancies. I had some on and off with my daughter from 4-6 weeks. If it doesn't progress beyond this it's likely nothing to worry about. If the bleeding becomes heavier or more persistent I would call your clinic for advice.

@IVFGotThis05 I can't personally help but a lot of ladies in another page I'm on are experiencing bleeding and have been told that progesterone pessaries can cause spotting. Are you on them? Have you got cramps too? I really wish you all the best 🍀 I'm 5+6 and have my 7 week scan next week too - checking every time I go to the toilet and getting worried at every twinge! It's hard!

It stopped this morning and I've just had a few cramps now. I rang the clinic this morning and they have said to call back if it gets worse.

@wtawtaw ahh congratulations! It seems like such a wait for the 7 week scan doesn't it. I'm not on progesterone I stopped that last week :( just got to keep everything crossed that the scan will show a nice little heart beat next week and I get no more bleeding.

@IVFGotThis05 it really is! I came off progesterone too, thought it was only my clinic that takes people off it quite soon as alot of others take it until 8-12 weeks.

Really hope you see a little heartbeat at your scan and that everything goes well!

How are you feeling otherwise, do you have many other symptoms?

Hello @IVFGotThis05 I'm in a similar position - 6+5 and I've been cramping and spotting brown blood the past 2 days. I've been scouring the internet and for some women it's absolutely fine, and for others it does signal the start of a miscarriage. As a PP said though, it's definitely more common with IVF pregnancies - I read more than 50% of women who've had IVF have some bleeding.

So fingers crossed we'll all be fine. My scan's on Friday 😬💜

@wtawtaw I'm alright today, I still had some light pink blood yesterday when I wiped but today I don't seem to have any. I'm 6 weeks today and I'm actually feeling a little bit sick so I'm hoping that's a good sign!

Oh that's good! Yes I would take the nausea as a good sign! I started feeling sick bang on 6 weeks (couple of days ago) and am off food occasionally too. What day is your scan next week?
Mine is the 10th - going be bricking it 😬

That's the day before mine, I go the Friday! 7 more days of worry and hopefully get a good answer!

Good news at scan which I hope makes you feel a bit better about yours! Measuring perfectly and strong heartbeat. Doctor could actually see a tiny area of bleeding outside the sac but she said it's nothing to worry about.

Nausea definitely a good sign - I started feeling sick at 6+3 and didn't have any nausea with my MMC.

I've had two ivf pregnancies. I bled in both just before 6 weeks and everything was fine both times, no explanation for it

I've had two embryos transferred 9 days ago and I'm absolutely bricking it for my pregnancy test due on Friday. I'm getting period like cramps today which are really worrying me 😔
Did you have your two embryos PGTA tested? My clinic don't usually allow a double transfer because of the risk of twins but because mine are genetically untested and because of the poor quality of the embryos, I only have a 5% chance one will implant 😔 xx

Ahh good luck! I had cramping too so try not to worry! I didn't have them tested they just decided because I only got 2 that made it to day 5 that they would put them both in, obviously we could have said no but it was our last funded cycle and just decided to go for it!! Wishing you all the luck!!! My test day was 9dp5dt ! And it was a dark line straight away!

That's such great news for you especially as its your last attempt!
Mine are FETs and we can't afford to do this again. We've got a couple more frozen but It's taken a year to get hear at an eye watering cost so if our little batch don't take, that's it......
Please can I ask how old you are? I've only been given a 5% chance of success as ours are untested and we're old 😭😭
