Thanks @Gardenlady543 @Enfys23 @kerrym87 @Spin101 @2021ivfagain !!

@2021ivfagain Sorry you’ve been feeling nauseous but I hope it’s reassuring at the same time.
@Loz2467 you’ve tried so many things, I hope the scan goes ok next week.

I had my post cycle review with consultant this afternoon. He always starts by asking what I’d like to do next! We told him we’d like to do two more egg collections this year to try get another transferable embryo. (I’ll be 45 at year end).
First time he’s ever mentioned it but he said he was concerned at the high number of cycles I’ve done altogether and, although no confirmed studies, the risk of ovarian cancer. He was gently encouraging me to stop now and just transfer. He said he’d have to run it past the clinic team as to whether I can do more cycles. I think it’ll be ok’d. I’ll definitely do a CA125 blood test when I’m done cycling.
So we’ll wait to hear if ok to proceed and if so, start down reg for long protocol towards the end of this month.
Regarding FET, I said I’d like to try modified natural but he recommended medicated due to my age as my quality of ovulation and progesterone may not be reliable. I had myself set on modified natural but now he’s cast doubt on it. @Janefx40 was this a factor for your FET?

I also had a consult with Bill Smith today so will go see him a few days after ovulation to check quality of lining. He said it’s about texture rather than thickness or trilaminar. I intend to go see him again during FET protocol after lining build up but before progesterone to get the endometrium assessed.
Think I’m going to be obsessed with all this prep up until my transfer, which will likely be early next year if I’m allowed to proceed with more collections this year.

@Gardenlady543 Hope you’re ok with work. I am still monitoring progesterone.

Janefx40 · 17/08/2023 19:48

@CailinInUK congrats on your embryo! Great news. I did modified natural. My hormones were ok but I can see the logic of doing medicated at our age. Interesting about the risk of more cycles. Only you can know whether you need to do another cycle or not for your peace of mind. Will be keeping an eye out for your updates.

I do read the thread but don't often post as don't want to intrude and also mostly don't know the answers to any questions that come up. But am rooting for you all x

clhiu · 18/08/2023 09:37

@CailinInUK it's extremely positive that you managed to get a low risk euploid, but if the clinic signs it off and you feel like you can keep going, then absolutely if that's what feels right, worth banking a few more. Had I had the money, when I ended up with a single euploid, I'd have definitely had a couple more rounds to try have at least 1-2 more as a lot was hanging on that single one. As for all other tests, likewise, I got everything that I was offered by my clinic at the time assessed as otherwise I'd have always wondered what if...Hopefully this one will be your sticky bean, but great peace of mind if you can make more X

2021ivfagain · 18/08/2023 12:06

@CailinInUK I am 42 with high fsh and even I did natural modified FET with stims. My oestrogen on transfer day I found out was 1621. Progesterone on transfer day was 181. I did oestrogen priming and lining was nearly 16mm. I’m on lots of progesterone until 12 weeks (3 cyclogest a day and 2 lubion a day). Then I taper until 14 weeks. Could you do similar to mine? When stimming for modified natural FET, I was on 300iu meriofert from cd5 on alternate days. I had 4 large follicles in the end. My fsh last year was 24, but I was highly stressed.

2021ivfagain · 18/08/2023 16:35

I had my scan today at 8w 1d and the baby was measuring spot on, but there was no visible heartbeat today. I did not have any blood but I had two scans and they confirmed it. Feel so foolish for getting my hopes up. At least I have my son. I have 5 more day 5 blastocysts frozen but I cannot afford to do another transfer at present. Also, I just feel hopeless and we didn’t do testing. Also, because of the passport issue, we were only able to do one cycle.

Enfys23 · 18/08/2023 16:44

I am so so sorry @2021ivfagain there are just no words. Sending you both lots of love and strength. Take time to grieve and I really wish and hope you have no health complications from this.

clhiu · 18/08/2023 16:45

Oh no @2021ivfagain I am so so sorry to hear this, it’s devastating and my heart goes out to you as I know how tough this scenario is to face. I take it they haven’t advised any further assessments? I am so sorry, but you’re not to blame in the slightest to have gotten your hopes up, absolutely anybody else in this situation would have and that’s what we’re in it for. Sending love and hugs x

2021ivfagain · 18/08/2023 17:09

Thanks@Enfys23 and @clhiu. I’m still in shock at present. The growth was good so it must have happened today or yesterday. I don’t know what to do now.

CailinInUK · 18/08/2023 17:24

@2021ivfagain I’m so shocked to hear this has happened. Everything seemed to be going so well. So, so sorry.

clhiu · 18/08/2023 17:55

@2021ivfagain It’s extremely tough news to process and completely normal to be in shock and even disbelief before being being able to make any decisions. If whenever you feel ready you have any questions on next steps, feel free to dm me at any time x

Gardenlady543 · 18/08/2023 18:01

Omg @2021ivfagain I can't believe this, I am so so sorry, I wasn't expecting this at all.

@2021ivfagain I’m so so sorry. This is heartbreaking. Getting your hopes up is natural, try not to be so hard on yourself

Janefx40 · 18/08/2023 20:08

Enfys23 · 18/08/2023 23:01

You don’t need to do or say anything right now @2021ivfagain just take time to process this and look after yourself ❤️. I am in shock to hear your news so can only imagine how you are feeling.

2021ivfagain · 18/08/2023 23:02

Thank you. @Gardenlady543 @CailinInUK @Enfys23 @Enfys23 @Spin101 @VenusStarr @clhiu @Janefx40

It’s been such a shock. I still have 5 day 5 blastocysts left frozen. I’m struggling with finances but feel I need to give it one more go and then call it quits. I didn’t PGS test but know of people who have PGS tested and still miscarried. I did worry with nausea I was struggling to drink as much and was eating bad food as well as struggling to take progesterone on time in morning due to feeling unwell. It was usually by 10am but struggled with 9:00am.

Enfys23 · 18/08/2023 23:15

This did NOT happen because of anything you did or didn’t do @2021ivfagain be kind to yourself

2021ivfagain · 18/08/2023 23:31

Thanks @Enfys23. @Gardenlady543 I had changed my soap last few days as my husband couldn’t find usual brand. I did say it was stronger. Only used it for hands. Do you think that affected things. It was Palm Olive but with hygiene plus.

clhiu · 18/08/2023 23:51

Honestly @2021ivfagain, it won’t be anything you have done, I know it’s impossible right now not to think that way and try looking for a reason in something you could have avoided, but it really won’t have been anything like that. Once a healthy embryo sticks, there’s very little in the way of what you do that can stop it. I hope you can find a way to be kinder to yourself and realise this is not your fault at all. Thinking of you x

Janefx40 · 19/08/2023 04:43

@2021ivfagain I promise you, this had nothing to do with Palm Olive or eating bad food or taking progesterone a little off schedule. None of these things caused this loss. Embryos take what they need from our bodies so unless you are severely malnourished (and even then tbh) your body will pass on nutrients and it's only the mother herself that loses out if there aren't nutrients in what she eats. If palm olive could cause miscarriage, there wouldn't have been so many unwanted pregnancies over the generations.

You did nothing wrong. This is awful but is not your fault.

I'm so sorry again xxx

2021ivfagain · 19/08/2023 08:59

@Janefx40 I know. I also think about the steroids which I did not take for slightly raised nk cells in blood. I don’t know what to do now. I have 5 day 5 blastocysts frozen. Can’t PGS really due to money but also they were frozen at day 3 nearly 2 years ago and frozen again on day 5 last month, so it makes them more fragile. I still had nausea yesterday evening but I think it was from all the travelling as well. The grades left are not so good. I have one 6B+B-, three 6B-B- and one 6B-C, but all day 5 blastocysts.

2021ivfagain · 19/08/2023 09:01

@Janefx40 Did you have to do two transfers this time? I think I remember you saying that the first PGT tested embryo did not work. What did you do? Xxx

2021ivfagain · 19/08/2023 09:11

I’m also worried about the lack of water I was drinking some days. When nausea was really bad, I struggled to drink until lunch time and had to have squash. I might have been a bit dehydrated.

Gardenlady543 · 19/08/2023 09:32

@2021ivfagain this is completely normal, people vomit a lot, they struggle to eat or drink anything, the baby get what it needs from what is already in the body. I was told things like calcium for example the baby will take it from the teeth! It isn't anything you've done, nothing you ate, drank, soap, anything. It's just shit and it happens with no sense of it. When my surrogate lost the pregnancy, I didn't think she did something wrong, it was just something really shit that happened. It's not your fault, you must be kind to yourself and stop thinking in this way. Did they talk to you about testing the products? Is that something that you would find useful? I know a few girls here have done this.
