4BC blastocyst - success stories

Hello lovely people.
After my EC in March, I was able to get 4 blastocysts. 2 x 5 day embryos - 4BB 4BC and 2 x 6 day embryos - 3BC 4BC

We did a freeze all and transferred the 4BB last month which sadly failed. If my period behaves, we should be doing another FET next month with my 5 day 4BC. I’m not feeling very optimistic. My clinic never suggested PGT testing and I don’t want to do it now they have already been frozen. Having searched google for hours, the stats for live birth with a 4BC don’t fill me with much hope. Are there any success stories out there?

@CycleGirl20 Ive found it quite difficult to actually believe this is happening for me. Im 16 weeks now and still find it quite hard. I’m hoping that once I get passed my 20 week scan I will be able to enjoy it more ❤️ Keep us posted with how you get on! X

@CycleGirl20 how are you doing?

Good @KG1244 , how are you getting on? I think I've maxed out the easy@home line progression. 6+3 today. Had an ultrasound at exactly 6 weeks and there was a heartbeat and the doctor put me at 6+1. Early days still, but looking good!

I wondered, has anyone's 4BC turned out to be a boy? I've seen a lot of studies that say high grade embryos are more often boys and lower grade girls, so just wondering anecdotally!

@CycleGirl20 so pleased to hear all is well ❤️ I’m finding out baby’s gender on Christmas Eve so will let you know. I have asked the question before and was told that it’s 50/50. I’m so desperate to find out. Can’t wait!

Ooo exciting! I'm guessing girl, just because I read that's more likely with a 4bc. We have one girl and I'd love to have either another boy or girl. Another girl would make buying clothes easier though because we've already got loads 😂.

KG1244 · 30/12/2023 20:34

@CycleGirl20 big surprise, I’m having a boy! X

@CycleGirl20 never heard of this. I'll guess I'll find out in few weeks. We transferred 2 but only 1 took a 5bc and 3cc. I feel like mine is a boy tho

MintNewt · 06/03/2024 18:11

Hi everyone, I have my last frozen embryo left which is a 4BC. Feeling really scared about this working as the clinic had told us that it might not survive thawing (I really should have asked what that was based on).

This will be my 7th embryo transfer across 6 cycles. I think after this we have to accept that this might be the end of the line for us.

I wondered whether there are any additional success stories and what treatment protocol you were put on for FET?

my clinic are only offering estrogen, progesterone, embryo glue. They have categorically refused aspirin, steroids and believe that add ons won’t make any difference. Thank you 💕

KG1244 · 06/03/2024 21:27

@MintNewt don’t lose hope! With my successful round they put me on lubion. Obviously I’ll never know if that’s what did it but worth looking into.

Hey all. How is everyone doing with their BCs? It's been a long time since I posted on here however wanted to round back!

I transferred our 2 BCs back in January but unfortunately had a very early chemical. I've done a further round and I have another day 6 BC which I'll be transferring in April.

Love reading back on these posts about all the successes with BCs. I'm really hoping we'll have better luck this time. So strange that we only seem to get BC graded embryos!! X

KG1244 · 01/04/2024 21:31

@Lebe14 I wish you well with your transfer ❤️ I’m pregnant with a little boy, due in 6 weeks’ time. It really can happen with what is considered a lower grade so don’t lose hope xxx

@KG1244 wow 6 weeks left!! All the best! Xx

MintNewt · 02/04/2024 08:25

Hi @Lebe14
im planning to transfer in April too. Going to try a natural cycle rather than a medicated one this time.
@KG1244 how did you manage with your mindset going into your transfer? this is our last embryo and it’s unlikely we will go ahead with another EC due to my age. Feels like a lot of pressure

KG1244 · 02/04/2024 09:58

@Lebe14 thank you!

@MintNewt afraid i dont have any wise words there, I was pretty negative during my TWW and was convinced it hadn’t worked which I guess means that you don’t need to do anything and just take good care of yourself ❤️

Hi ladies

does anyone know what meds they give in a medicated cycle and why?

congrats to everyone expecting their little ones! Sending lots of love xxx

KG1244 · 08/04/2024 23:29

@Maria12060 hey, it really seems to vary from clinic to clinic and based on your medical circumstances. Have they told you what they are planning to use?

OP posts:
Maria12060 · 09/04/2024 22:20

@KG1244 thanks for replying. They’ve said natural cycle / no meds for transfer besides perhaps progesterone

KG1244 · 09/04/2024 22:29

@Maria12060 is this your first transfer?

OP posts:
Maria12060 · 09/04/2024 23:31

Yeah it is @KG1244 x

MintNewt · 10/04/2024 06:39

@KG1244 Ive had a medicated cycle in my last FET and now trying natural cycle. Similar to you I’ll be monitored and just taking progesterone. my clinic thought that it might be worth trying natural given I’ve had a number of medicated cycles. I’m also quite curious to see how my body naturally responds in the follicular and ovulation phase.

KG1244 · 10/04/2024 08:53

So from what I understand there isn’t statistically any difference between natural or medicated but double check with your clinic @Maria12060

wish you both lots of luck! Xx

OP posts:
Lozzy000 · 10/04/2024 10:08

@Maria12060 I've always had medicated transfers starting with taking oestrogen (pills and patch) following baseline scan after cycle starts. I take them for around 12 days and then start progesterone (pessaries and injection) and on the 6th day of progesterone, that's when I have my transfer. Oestrogen builds up your lining and progesterone maintains the lining I believe. Oestrogen also keeps your ovaries quiet so you don't produce follicles / ovulate.

I've never had or been offered an unmedicated transfer - but this only my 2nd.

Good luck! X
