4BC blastocyst - success stories

KG1244 · 22/07/2023 16:27

Hello lovely people.
After my EC in March, I was able to get 4 blastocysts. 2 x 5 day embryos - 4BB 4BC and 2 x 6 day embryos - 3BC 4BC

We did a freeze all and transferred the 4BB last month which sadly failed. If my period behaves, we should be doing another FET next month with my 5 day 4BC. I’m not feeling very optimistic. My clinic never suggested PGT testing and I don’t want to do it now they have already been frozen. Having searched google for hours, the stats for live birth with a 4BC don’t fill me with much hope. Are there any success stories out there?

Exciting to get started @KG1244. How are you feeling?

It will be my first transfer so no experience of the meds. I've been prescribed progynova, cyclogest (pessaries) AND lubion! Not sure of how much and when I start them, will find out next week. Would be interested to hear how you find lubion when you get started on it x

KG1244 · 18/08/2023 08:23

@Lebe14 the same 😊 so the pessaries are a pain in the arse. They love to leak 😂 I found the best way to do them is lying in bed and stick one leg up in the air and then stay lying down for 15 minutes or so. Definitely need panty liners!

Thanks for the advice @KG1244 - defo not looking forward to them 😂😂

Mamash · 20/08/2023 05:49

@Lebe14 and @KG1244
Wishing you both all the very best with your FET.
I used Lubion for my most recent cycle (current pregnancy) but not for the previous cycles. I don't think I felt any different with it other than the faff of taking two injections every night (I was also on clexane)...
I've had hyperemesis in both of my pregnancies and so using all my fertility meds (and injections) was challenging for me!
@Lebe14 I found using the pessaries through the back was a lot less messier and also gave me the assurance that all of it was being absorbed so long as I didn't do a number 2 between 2-4 hours after using it (apologies for the TMI)

KG1244 · 20/08/2023 07:54

@Mamash thanks, I’m already feeling the faff! As you’ve responded on this group, did you have a lower grade embryo?

@Lebe14 so the actual injection I haven’t found painful but the site is very achy and sore afterwards. I’m hoping that will ease after a few days

KG1244 · 20/08/2023 08:12

@Mamash sorry, too early on a Sunday for me! Yes I remember now 😂

@KG1244 that's good to hear the injection isn't too bad - annoying about the itchiness and aching afterwards though. But like you said, hopefully that'll ease off. How are you feeling?

@Mamash thanks for the advice. I've read about this and am more inclined of 'back passage' route haha. Heard lots of stories about the other way being quite itchy and messy. If it gives the same results, I think I'll opt for that

X

@KG1244 how did you get on? I'm waiting to transfer a 4bc next month

KG1244 · 15/10/2023 18:51

Hey, I’m currently 10 weeks pregnant with my 4BC. Still very anxious and taking it day by day but it definitely shows not to discredit an embryo based on its grade.

KG1244 · 15/10/2023 18:52

@CycleGirl20 lots of luck for your transfer ❤️

@KG1244 congratulations! It's true ugly embryos can make beautiful babies ❤️

Lebe14 · 15/10/2023 19:15

Ahh @KG1244 congratulations!!! What lovely news - so pleased for you!! I'll be transferring my BCs in November 🙌🏻💛 xx

KG1244 · 15/10/2023 19:23

Thanks both. I really hope this gives you both hope and faith. It could be a load of rubbish (but everything is worth a shot right?) there was a study that showed listening to comedy after your embryo transfer increases your chances. So may be worth a shot after your transfer. Keep me posted and any questions, please feel free to ask ❤️

@KG1244 Congrats!! So pleased to read this story, I'm transferring my final embryo next month. It's a 4BC and haven't been feeling very positive, so I really need more stories like this!

KG1244 · 15/10/2023 20:10

@kirstysmbc i felt completely the same but honestly I really think that if it’s good enough to freeze, it’s good enough to make a baby

@KG1244 such a lovely news, congratulations😊 Wish you smooth pregnancy🙏🏻

@Maya34 thank you so much ❤️

@KG1244 This is amazing news! Congratulations!
I'm now in my 30th week of my 4BC Emby pregnancy and everything is looking good so far so keep the faith!

@kirstysmbc just to share my positive story...
I transferred my last emby which was 4BC in April and it was successful... I'm now in my third trimester...

CycleGirl20 · 16/10/2023 19:14

@Mamash ooo congratulations!!! I'm a month away from my 4bc transfer 🤞

KG1244 · 16/10/2023 19:15

@Mamash thank you so much and congratulations to you! From what I understand, once the embryo implants, the grading is kinda irrelevant so I’m taking that and running with it 😂

kirstysmbc · 16/10/2023 19:30

@Mamash Congratulations! I'm loving all these positive stories 😊

Porridgeislife · 22/10/2023 20:48

I have a wonderful toddler who was a 4BC, the only blastocyst from her round. She brings us so much joy! Good luck to all those who are awaiting transfer 🤞

Maria12060 · 18/11/2023 15:32

Hi ladies, lots of congratulations for the lovely ladies who are pregnant and wishing lots of luck to those who are waiting for their transfers

is there anyone here who chose not to get PGT done on their embryos and went ahead with the transfers without it and had success? What made you choose this route?

currently have 3 embryos in the freezer and unsure whether I should get them tested before transfers. (I am 36 and have two more cycles of IVF to go which’ll decide how many embryos I have in total). I have low AMH so I won’t get more than 5-6 eggs each cycle regardless.

im worried that the embryos may not survive if we go down the testing route and some people are of the opinion that sometimes testing ‘discards’ some embryos which would’ve made normal babies.

any thoughts on this are massively appreciated :) xxx

KG1244 · 18/11/2023 17:37

@Maria12060 hi. I didn’t test as based as what I read online, I wasn’t sure how beneficial it was but appreciate others may have found otherwise. It’s worth doing a bit of reading here:

Hiii @KG1244 thanks so much for sharing this! I was looking for a research that pointed in this direction.

my clinic did not even mention PGT to me at my initial consultations and afterwards - wonder why that is and if you have to meet certain criteria to be offered / considered.

im speaking to my consultant on Monday and will ask him and post his response here in case it helps anyone xxx
