@2mumlife sorry to hear that! Hope you’re on the mend soon. 🤞🏼

Sabrinafive · 24/06/2024 13:18

@2mumlife congrats on the wedding how exciting!! I hope it’s all you’ve both wished for and i’m sure you’ll look beautiful! Keep us updated 💕

@ivf24 hope you’re feeling a bit better?

@IVFlife exciting times for you! How are you feeling leading up to transfer?

@Nosejug im glad you’ve managed to sort out your situation with the wedding 💕

I’m doing ok :) cautiously optimistic but I have little moments where I feel an overwhelming dread thinking about the ‘what if’s. I’ve got my protocol for FET and I’m in 8th July for my prostap then have another few appointments booked for scans and to begin medication. This is our only embryo so really praying I’m doing enough to give it the best chance of sticking.

hope you’re all well!

2mumlife · 25/06/2024 12:46

@Sabrinafive That's exciting to have a date for your prostap injection! Keeping fingers crossed for you - as they say it only takes one x

Doing a bit better, I've totally lost my voice and still coughing, and half suspect I might have got that new covid variant as definitely feeling wiped out :(

StuffLoriThangs · 25/06/2024 14:55

Im feeling a bit rubbish after our failed FET. Had the cold and got a bit of an abscess to try and nip in the bud.

never mind. Just need to await the letter of the new plan they may have for us.

ivf24 · 22/06/2024 10:56

I feel you @IVFlife! Are you a teacher too? Yay, so glad things are on the move for you 😀

My role is more school mental health. We broke up today and I've been in a sort of zombie exhausted state since. I even fell asleep on sofa earlier! I work from home 2.5 days in summer but it's a totally different vibe, much more relaxed!

My lining scan is on Fri. If all OK and I start progesterone on Sat then do we think transfer will be Thursday?

I can't believe that in a week I might be sayings it's tomo!!

Nosejug · 27/06/2024 08:33

Hello all! Been reading all the messages. Hope those feeling unwell/not good are getting R&R and recovering.

Just got my late AF (think this is day 30). Been feeling weirdly calm and happy since the jab which is opposite to what I worried about. It’s maybe more the relief that something has finally happened rather than hormones, but I got inordinately angry at a fly yesterday and then my period arrived.

Lining scan, injections lessons and yet another cathetar test on Monday. 🤞 for no 2nd operation.

Hope yours goes well tomorrow @IVFlife !

IVFlife · 29/06/2024 10:53

So scan yesterday went well lining was over 10 and was good to go...then last night I tested positive for covid!!!!!!!!! Spoke to clinic this morning and due to not being sure of the effects on the embryo transfer has been cancelled.

Can't believe this is the 6th time we've been cancelled for some reason now!

Nosejug · 30/06/2024 12:33

argh @IVFlife that must be so so frustrating. what happens now? can it be suspended for a little while until you're negative? the only positive I can think to say is that at least you tested and realised you had it, so your embryo(s) is still safe. I'd be having a good scream somewhere private!

JulesIVF · 01/07/2024 17:40

@IVFlife

sorry just updating as I refreshed after posting and seen your new comment. Sorry to see it’s been cancelled 😞

2mumlife · 02/07/2024 12:26

@Nosejug How did the catheter test go?

@IVFlife That is so frustrating! How are you feeling? I'm pretty sure I got covid, spent a night throwing up and now got a lingering cough and exhausted. Hope you're not being affected too badly x

Nosejug · 02/07/2024 14:12

@2mumlife i passed! (Hah) she said she’s happy with it, and wouldn’t expect it to close before transfer. Thin lining, and I think 5/6 follicles on each ovary. I didn’t really comprehend that bit too well. Like I can’t tell if that’s bad/average/good. But nurse said she was happy so…
I’m always a bit fluttery minded when in an appointment. Start injections tomorrow 😬

Nosejug · 03/07/2024 10:25

Had a wee panic around air bubbles/medicine loss trying to expel them/medicine coming out of injection site/a video saying careful not to hit a vein?! The needles themselves were fine, just all the stuff around it.

Should I worry about small bits of medicine coming out? Or about hitting a vein? Or injecting a bit of air?

Barely felt the gonal f needle 🙏

2mumlife · 03/07/2024 12:48

@Nosejug Was that your baseline scan yeah? Its great you 'passed' the catheter test!

Really don't worry about a small amount of liquid coming out of the injection site. It can sometimes help to slow down the pace you're injecting the needle, or leave the needle in a little bit longer after injecting before withdrawing to minimise liquid coming out. You're not going to hit a vein injecting into your stomach or thigh, the needle is too small for that, its entering in the fatty layer of your skin and shouldn't be able to touch a vein. If you see a little bit of blood its normal, you've just hit a little capillary. I've injected little bubbles of air before - try you're best to get them out by flicking the syringe but again, really don't worry. The air bubbles you're likely to be left with are TINY. I just found it was sometimes a little more prone to bruising if there had been a little bit of a air bubble left.

Honestly, you're not going to do yourself any injury with the meds if you're following the instructions given by the clinic. It'll become so routine in no time :)

Nosejug · 03/07/2024 14:16

Exactly what I needed to hear thank you @2mumlife FlowersFlowers

2mumlife · 03/07/2024 14:24

@Nosejug You're doing just fine :) It is so, so easy to overthink things. Also, with some of the meds if you need to draw it up from a bottle (I'm thinking like Lubion for example) if there is a tiny bit left in the bottle, also totally normal!

Nosejug · 03/07/2024 15:13

@2mumlife also good to know! I put a lot of effort into extracting every last drop but by that stage was already down the overthinking road.
My only lingering worry was that i took my LH med (luveris for me) in the morning, but on one website it said evening. But I'm so sure the nurse didn't specify. Only to take at the same time each day. It's the problem of excitement for starting/busy appointments, that I just can't think clearly when I'm in there.

2mumlife · 03/07/2024 15:36

@Nosejug Really other than your trigger shot which does need to be taken at a specific time, it really doesn't matter. Most important thing is to aim to take things at the same time each day (and even then, a bit of variability isn't something you should worry about)

ivf24 · 11/07/2024 21:24

Haven’t been on here in a while. How is everyone doing? Where is everyone in their journey?

I’m 17 weeks now and feeling ok. Been struggling to sleep the past few nights but ok apart from that. Had a bit of a freak out yesterday when my dog jumped and landed on my belly while I was sitting down but hoping evening is ok and baby is well
cushioned in there. We are heading away on holiday soon so we have our scan at 19 weeks. 🥰

Looking forward to hearing everyone’s updates.

Ellenn · 12/07/2024 12:40

@ivf24 hey 👋 nice to hear from you! So exciting, was great seeing the size difference at that stage they are growing so fast!

I’m 26+5 today and doing well, finally getting a small bump although not super obvious if i wear a baggy top 🙈 think I’ve been pretty lucky with symptoms so far. Do you have many? Are you going to find out the gender?

ivf24 · 12/07/2024 14:02

Hi @Ellenn . Wow nearly 27 weeks already! 🥰 I’ve been pretty luck with symptoms too I think. I have restless legs at night but other than that not much. Haven’t felt baby move yet I don’t think.
Im nervous about the scan as always but also looking forward to seeing how much they’ve grown. No we’re not going to find out the gender. We want a surprise.
Do you have any extra scans? Think I’ll get one at 28 weeks and another at 36. Xx

Ellenn · 12/07/2024 20:38

@ivf24 i think I started to feel him move around 18 wks although might depend where your placenta is! It was quite tricky feeling the first movements and had to really concentrate but once you start feeling them it gets more and more obvious!

we get growth scans every 2 wks from 28 wks at our hospital as it’s an ivf pregnancy and I have a low BMI so apparently I’m more likely to have a smaller baby. Now I can properly feel him all the time I actually don’t feel the need to have any/many scans tbh though! Its really reassuring as he is very active most of time especially when I’m trying to sleep 🤣

i did get really bad cramps in my legs at night but start wearing compression socks and they are great! Not sure if they would help restless legs but might be worth a try? Still occasionally get cramp but it’s not every night getting woken up!

Nosejug · 15/07/2024 06:31

Pretty cool to know that there's success and that you're both doing well :) I've been teetering around the edge of being hopeful but I feel like it's a dangerous place to linger. I'm still injecting daily, currently en route for an early appointment (second measurement). The fact that I even have follicles past 10 is good news for my amh. I'm not sure what a general good follicle count is, or how to interpret what the nurse reads out. Maybe it's best just to wait for collection. I think I've read on here follicles being miscounted as cysts and the like. I think the bar is three eggs, any less and that's the end of nhs treatment. I'm so curious to learn of their quality, which will guide me through the next steps I've been preparing my mind for (the possibility of needing donor eggs). I have this desire to at the very least make an embryo that I can feel like I've loved. Really wish I wasn't starting a new job on Monday. It might be a saving grace to be busy but if things go well I'm afraid of what the work might do to my chances (lots of lifting, using nasty substances, very male environment). Anyway. All that's fortune telling. I do love reading about your ivf pregnancies, a nice glimmer.

IVFlife · 15/07/2024 21:33

Ooh @ivf24 and @Ellenn can't belive how far you both are! Time flies!!

@nosejug how did you get on today? Congrats on new job!

I had a scan this morning - we are back on ivf meds after our FET cycle being cancelled last month due to me getting covid. I ended up in hospital last weekend with a suspected blood clot but thankfully OK. Honestly you couldn't write it!!!!

But started back on meds and then today had scan. They saw some follicles which was a worry for me but drs review said its OK to go. So transfer is a week today.

Nosejug · 16/07/2024 06:33

Oh! If I get any eggs/viable embryos, I could end up getting transfer at the same time (early next week) @IVFlife ! Will be thinking of you. Since you told us about the Covid cancellation I've been carrying hand gel again...

Yesterday I was so sure I was feeling fine but ended up having a panic attack in front of the nurses Blush just a combo of things I guess (with my October haemorrhage at its base I imagine). I've been referred for counselling.

But I have some sizeable follicles, in again this morning and the trigger shot is now in my fridge (but no instruction yet).

ivf24 · 16/07/2024 09:16

Nice to hear from you @Nosejug and @IVFlife .

@Nosejug Good luck with the new job! Glad to heard you’ve got some decent follicles 🤞🏼. Hope the counselling is helpful.

@IVFlife what a journey you’ve had! Sorry to hear you were in hospital but glad that’s everything is ok. How are you feeling about transfer?
