@StuffLoriThangs Ita so unlikely to work first time. I’ve always had much better success with FETs as well. It’s worth deciding with partner where you stand with testing early or not on future cycles. Personally found it just causes stress, as even if it is positive, if you test early you won’t be reassured as it’s too early, so it doesn’t make you feel any better.

@IVFlife Great to hear you’re starting to get a bit more excited. Hopefully your bleed comes when you’re expecting :)

IVFlife · 11/06/2024 22:17

Am now bleeding more this eve. Uuuugh. It's too early to the right time for FET to happen as planned. Honestly. Am so so sick of this.

StuffLoriThangs · 12/06/2024 06:17

Sorry @IVFlife

2mumlife · 12/06/2024 07:40

@IVFlife I’m so sorry, can the clinic move things forward for you?

IVFlife · 13/06/2024 16:33

2mumlife · 12/06/2024 07:40

@IVFlife I’m so sorry, can the clinic move things forward for you?

So bizarrely it's the opposite - it is likely to delay things.

This happened last time too (the try that got cancelled due to breast lump) And consultant said to just come off my own meds a week later as planned then if no other bleed after a week start clinic meds then. (This makes no sense to me as I would def not bleed 2x)

This time it's confusing as it's closer to the date I would actually bleed on anyway and will still be bleeding. So how would I knew if should start the meds then or not 🙄

I'm hoping they listen to me on the phone.

2mumlife · 13/06/2024 19:29

@IVFlife Sounds like they just need to accept that they need to completely take control of your cycle themselves 🤦‍♀️

IVFlife · 14/06/2024 15:43

We start FET meds on Tuesday. 1st scan on 28th!!! So glad to finally have a proper plan.

Sabrinafive · 14/06/2024 17:59

I'm not at the royal so not affected by closures. My guess is early July for transfer

@Sabrinafive I’m good thanks, how are you? Generally I feel ok but have off days where I feel rubbish. I’ve had a chest infection for 3 weeks which I could not shake and couldn’t take anything for. That cleared up and then I got a sore throat. Been sick a couple of times but nothing major. I’ll be 14 weeks on Monday.

Nosejug · 15/06/2024 08:04

@2mumlife yes I was pleased the dr seemed unconcerned, he said the scarring was at the opening but not all the way through.

@IVFlife great to hear you’ve got a set timeline now! How are you planning to prepare your body? I’m a bit haphazard but trying to make lots of healthy choices. good advice re: prostrap. we have an appointment for it so hopefully they’ll do it. I was reading over the meds and hadn’t realised it was multiple injections a day lol. Deep breath! (and respect to all of you!)

@Sabrinafive thanks for asking :) the dr said to play it by ear re: wedding. They may be calling me in/meds might not be transportable so they’ve said we’ll know more later. Partner called our friends yesterday to let them know, and of course they were supportive. Maybe he can still go even if I can’t.

Unfortunately got a uti 🙄 I think maybe two days in a row of them inserting catheters and rods was too much. On antibiotics which isn’t ideal but upping the kefir and kimchi heh.

Sorry for the huge message just needed to catch up on replies! I hope everyone’s doing well. This is the only space I know to talk everything through and read others experience and semi-normalise all this and I appreciate it v much.

IVFlife · 15/06/2024 21:59

@Nosejug I know my Friend at an nhs clinic always had her prostap done by them. She was baffled I was doing that one myself.

In terms of prep I've been a riot. Previously i could have been the poster girl for ivf health. Now I'm really not. The emotional eating over the stress of all this has been wild.

But I've given myself a talking to and I'm cutting out crap until we know result of this round now. It gives me control at least. I've taken my supplements throughout. And I'm just going to try and eat as sensibly as possible

2mumlife · 16/06/2024 08:58

@ivf24 Cant believe you’re 14 weeks already!! Sorry you’ve had a chest infection that’s miserable. Have the other first trimester symptoms eased off now?

@Nosejug Urgh uti is no fun at all. Try not to stress about the injections - I used to get my partner to do mine, and it was a nice way of getting her involved. I had to do more of my own drugs this time around and it’s fine. Some people use ice to numb the area and things but I think that’s just more of a faff and makes it feel more of a big deal - the needles are really small (other than the Prostap which hopefully clinic will do, GCRM did mine for me, but that was a few years ago now). Honestly other than taking your folic acid and not drinking I would just try to relax as best as you can - the cycles I’ve tried not to obsess and just lived my life pretty normally have been when it’s worked

@Sabrinafive How are you getting on?

My toddlers had 2 bad nights of sleep and it’s knackered me 😭 I’ll be 24 weeks this week, which is my internal celebration time as that’s the point they could feasibly keep baby alive if something happened and was born. Saw consultant for another cervix check last week as well and he’s happy enough cervix isn’t going to be an issue. Quite looking forward to a few weeks off from the hospital 😂 next appointment is 28 weeks for GTT and beginning of growth scans 🤞

Im getting married in a really small ceremony in a few weeks and my dress only just fits 🤦‍♀️ I’m definitely larger this time than I was with my daughter. Hoping I don’t need to go on a last minute panic buying a different dress (it’s not a white traditional wedding dress, it’s actually blue, so it’s fine if it doesn’t fit, it would just be a pain having to find something else I get ok in as starting to feel a bit whale-esk)

I know! It’s scary! Yes the chest infection was rough. I still have sore boobs but I’m not as tired as I was.

2mumlife · 16/06/2024 19:53

@ivf24 Hopefully once the chest infection clears you’ll get to enjoy the second trimester. I found the second trimester and start of the third the best bit and actually really enjoyable with my daughter - over the first trimester bleh, energy levels back etc. and before the heartburn, haemorrhoids and becoming physically uncomfortable kicks in 😂

Nosejug · 17/06/2024 07:50

@2mumlife aw wow, 24 weeks! If I ever get that far I'll be very happy to reach that survival threshold. Congrats:) and on the wedding! What a lovely time in your life (even with the non sleeping toddler!)

Thanks for advice 2mum & @IVFlife

Been taking vitamins inc. folic acid, but nothing specialised. I'm 95% vegetarian if that's a thing haha, so hopefully getting enough nutrients from food. But ever since my blood disaster in October my tummy has been getting heavier :-/
I'm thinking a daily long walk will help with good blood flow which seems to be important...

2mumlife · 17/06/2024 10:51

@Nosejug Its all a bit nuts at the moment 😂have maybe tried to cram in too many things at once!

I'd definitely take an iron supplement if your veggie. I'm 65% veggie? eat fish and chicken, but not red meat. I had low iron even with iron fortified Pregnecare vitamins with my daughter, and my iron is a bit low again with this pregnancy as well, again despite taking regular iron supplements. So I'd recommend trying to build up your iron stores well in advance :)

Nosejug · 17/06/2024 18:57

@2mumlife oh yes, they do contain iron. I had barely passed the ivf threshold for iron because of loosing so much blood in October. But I def don't feel like i did then. And I eat a helluva lot of spinach and chickpeas haha.

Wondering if anyone can reassure me, I'm very sure my period is imminent, cramps boobs etc to the point of a little spotting (but hopefully that's just leftover from the operation last week). What happens if I wake up tomorrow and it's started? Our appointment is early tomorrow. So nervous I'll be turned away.

2mumlife · 18/06/2024 09:07

@Nosejug Any period today? I think if your period had started before the prostap injection they'd probably have to delay? But honestly, I really don't know and you'd need to ask the clinic.

Nosejug · 18/06/2024 11:35

@2mumlife no period yet just me panicking...sorry for the superfluous message! That's me prostrapped if I can make it a verb. Realised that I'm excited to start regardless of the outcome, just so relieved to finally be moving after so....much........waiting! I will be interested to know how my body reacts. And looks like we can go to the wedding! The drug that needs chilling is after the wedding date, and I won't start measuring till day ten of injections. So that's nice news :)

2mumlife · 18/06/2024 11:43

@Nosejug Great to hear everything is (hopefully!) working out for you! Congrats on getting the Prostap done! You're off! :)

IVFlife · 21/06/2024 19:22

Hey. I'm floored with end of term stuff at work. But popping on to say we started FET meds on Tuesday and have a scan a week today.

How is everyone?

2mumlife · 22/06/2024 11:16

@IVFlife YAY!!!!! That's great news.

Sorry your floored at the moment. I spent Tuesday evening/night vomiting my guts up and absolutely full of a cough/cold so feeling pretty miserable 😩
