@2mumlife I know it’s such a long wait! I suppose maybe they are trying to reduce the amount of chemical pregnancies by testing later? Yes been on lubion since week fbefore transfer and if ends up viable will stay on till 12 weeks! It can be a sore one but I find I tolerate it better in my thighs! If I try my tummy it is agony for days no idea why 🤷‍♀️

I’ve had a private scan before and actually had a really good experience so would go back to the same clinic if mine doesn’t offer an early enough scan! I’m keen to have one around the 6 week mark as if not looking viable at least I find out early as otherwise it all gets so drawn out.

It’s horrible this stage isn’t it it’s all waiting and waiting wondering if this is actually going to be real and happen or not… I feel like I’m quite indifferent to it all? As I can’t really feel excited at all yet.

hope your beta goes well tomorrow 🤞

2mumlife · 05/02/2024 15:17

@Ellenn That's true they might pick up less CP that way. I find Lubion bruises a lot compared to anything else. I get the being tentative thing at the moment, just taking every day as it comes until the early scan. That's good you've had a good experience with private scans. Assuming everything goes ok we might do a private one this time if things keep progressing as our NHS area don't tell you sex at the 20 week scan so if you want to know you have to pay for a private scan. I liked the surprise with DD but feel a bit like I'd want to know this time.

Blood draw this morning was fine and will get a call tomorrow morning. Did you send away a medicheck in the end?

Ellenn · 05/02/2024 16:04

@2mumlife I think our hospital don’t tell you the gender either! But I feel so far away from that decision at the moment. Just trying to reach my official OTD first … I think if I do I will get viability at 6+4 wks. Send away my medichecks don’t think I will get results until at least Wednesday though.

Hope you get some good numbers 🤞how are you feeling about it?

Eiremogra · 05/02/2024 16:20

OTD and Medichecks sample has been sent! I’m overthinking and picturing my sample getting lost or else sitting for so long that it can’t be tested…felt very odd having to take it to a post box after collection?! Glad this part is done…either way will be doing CB test on Wednesday. The nerves!!!x

Ellenn · 05/02/2024 18:45

@Eiremogra yes let’s hope for good numbers for us 🤞what stage are you at now? My OTD is actually Friday so I’m only 10dp5dt 🙈

StuffLoriThangs · 05/02/2024 18:55

Well I’m just waiting to get booked in for a medicated frozen transfer. Fingers crossed the wait isn’t too long.

Eiremogra · 05/02/2024 19:19

@StuffLoriThangs did you get any update on dates today? Have you been given a rough estimate of dates?

@Ellenn Im behind you, only 9DP5DT today but my clinic wanted me to test today (venous sample) and home pregnancy test on Wednesday.

IVFlife · 05/02/2024 22:41

@2mumlife yes they will defrost eggs when my lining is ready and transfer after that. I'm not sure how long it will take from when I start meds to get to my lining being ready

2mumlife · 06/02/2024 06:43

@Ellenn I wonder if you are local to
me as I know there are only a couple of health boards that have a policy of not saying sex. Eager to find out this morning what blood hcg is to know how it’s all going.

@Eiremogra Your patience waiting the extra few days is amazing. How are you feeling?

@IVFlife Hopefully lining will grow quickly for
you :) I’m a little surprised they didn’t fertilise all the eggs before freezing, but maybe they are thinking fresh transfer is better? Keeping everything crossed for you

Ellenn · 06/02/2024 07:15

@2mumlife we are in Stirling! So using ninewells but I did my first cycle privately at Glasgow royal 😊 will you get a phone call today? I hope it’s a good level, did they say what they hope for? I’m undecided if I should do another medichecks on Friday at 14dp5dt ….

@Eiremogra when will you get your results? 🤞 it’s positive!!

@IVFlife my lining usually takes about 14/15 days but my clinic said most women only take around 10 days 😊 hope it doesn’t take too long!

StuffLoriThangs · 06/02/2024 09:12

@Eiremogra no dates or anything. I’m expecting a phone call this week for that. But fingers crossed it will be soon. I hope they’re not too busy

Nosejug · 06/02/2024 09:18

*@2mumlife

Thanks for taking the time to write to me. I hope it didn’t seem like I was being flippant about using a donor egg/sperm. I have been considering/researching/reading anything I can find on the experience of children and young adults born with the help of a donor for two plus years as we go blow by blow through our difficult journey. I kind of meant that the system side of the donor experience was hard to navigate. The moral aspects I feel are deeply personal to each of us, and it hopefully goes without saying that it is an incredibly considered decision (which I haven’t yet fully made). I’ve been forcing myself to engage with many sides of the issue which is sometimes quite difficult to do. It’s interesting to hear about these families with half siblings meeting up. I imagine that’s quite a strong experience for the children involved.

Wonderful reading all this positive news on the group. Congratulations on your positive!

And congratulations to you too @Ellenn Just wonderful news to read! Wishing you the very best *

2mumlife · 06/02/2024 11:54

@Ellenn So you'd be seen at Forth Valley yeah? That's where we are (we're based outside of Falkirk).

So clinic phoned back and the nurse was funny as she pulled up the result on the phone and was like "well your definitely pregnant" 😂So my level was 1901, and they would want it to be above 280 at 14dp5dt for indicating an ongoing pregnancy (so they want above 70 at 10dp5dt and then for that to double every 48 hours).

@IVFlife We did transfer of a 5 day embryo on day 18 of my cycle if that helps :)

@Nosejug I'm sorry if you felt I was criticising at all! Really wasn't the way I was meaning to come across. I think its really difficult coming to look at using a donor if its not what you were expecting, and as you say totally individual to each person what they want to do. No judgement on anyone at all for the decisions they make, especially if needing donor eggs as there is such a massive shortage of known egg donors. Yeah I think its really interesting families meeting up - my understanding in this instance is that families that are meeting are both single-parents by choice and I think both aren't intending on any more children, so they are using each other as a support network, and in a way giving their children a sibling that they are sort of growing up with. There are definitely so many unknowns. We reached out to find the donor siblings as well to give us time I guess to get used to the idea - its one thing knowing the possibility of donor half-siblings and a different thing being confront with the reality that they really do exist.

Ellenn · 06/02/2024 12:19

@2mumlife yes I’m at forth valley! Or that’s our local one. How did you get beta hcg? Was that just by phoning the EPU? They are great numbers 🙌🙌🙌 I’m still waiting on the result I took yesterday, hopefully will get it tomorrow x

2mumlife · 06/02/2024 12:53

@Ellenn It was our fertility clinic GCRM that did the beta hcg test as part of our package. Yeah happy with the number means I’m well out of the chemical pregnancy zone. Feel more now like all I can do is just wait and hope. Feeling brave enough to contact the Forth Valley pregnancy team and start the pre-booking in paperwork (there is an email address you contact them at after 4.5/5weeks). Keeping everything crossed that your results comes back tomorrow looking good!

Ellenn · 06/02/2024 16:13

@2mumlife ah I see! Definitely well out the chemical zone for sure, hopefully the high result means the embryo in there is pretty happy!

think I will hold off contacting/letting them know until I’ve had a viability scan. I think I’m going to get one at 6+4 wks if I make it to that stage 🤞 just need to count down the days! Although I am planning on contacting the EPU as hopefully they can give me an extra scan or two

2mumlife · 06/02/2024 16:28

@Ellenn My hcg with DD at 15dp5dt was nearly 6000 😂so I'm hoping if my hcg levels are spiking as much as they did with her I wont feel as bad (I actually feel good today which is nice). Do you have a history of early loses am I remembering right? I think the waiting for an early preg scan after the TWW can actually be harder in many ways. How are you feeling physically? Any more symptoms kicking in for you?

Ellenn · 06/02/2024 19:13

@2mumlife oh wow that’s high!! I’m not sure my numbers will be that high as on 9dp5dt I was only 1-2 wks on the clear blue test which I think means it’s under 150?

that’s good you are feeling well, I thought higher hcg sometimes means more nausea?

Yes unfortunately I’ve miscarried for my previous 3 transfers 😢 I’m really hoping maybe this time it might work but trying to remain neutral incase it goes either way … definitely find this wait worse than the 2ww tbh. I feel nausea on/off but that’s really been it but I suppose I’m still super early!

IVFlife · 06/02/2024 20:26

2mumlife · 06/02/2024 06:43

@IVFlife Hopefully lining will grow quickly for
you :) I’m a little surprised they didn’t fertilise all the eggs before freezing, but maybe they are thinking fresh transfer is better? Keeping everything crossed for you

So the reason they don't fertilise them now and freeze is incase my lining never ever gets to the right level. Then we would have donor egg embryos that I could never use. And could never be used.

Where as if my body never gets to transfer stage then the eggs could be used by someone else I think that's why.

Ellenn · 07/02/2024 07:03

@2mumlife got my hcg back as 233 so think it’s ok might buy another to check next week to make sure levels are going up ok 🤞

@Eiremogra I think you did a medichecks too? I hadn’t actually got notification there was a result just checked this morning and it was there! Not sure if you are still waiting for it!

2mumlife · 07/02/2024 07:10

@Ellenn I think it’s quite hard relating urine tests to what your blood hcg is as urine is a lot less concentrated levels, so the urine level doesn’t reflect your blood level that well and everyone varies so much how much passes through your urine at once. Saying that I’m still going to do the digital tests spaces out next 2 weekends as it’s the only reassurance available. I’m so sorry for your losses, do you know if there is any underlying reason? Hopefully this time is different for you. Keeping fingers crossed for your test results back today!

@Eiremogra Wishing you luck for your testing today!

@IVFlife Ah ok. Sending you lots of hope for a super thick lining! I know my lining has been on the thinner side, even with having extra estradiol. Do you know how thick they want? I think my clinic it’s 7-8mm or over they want before they start planning transfer x

Eiremogra · 07/02/2024 07:22

Thanks so much for the heads up @Ellenn . I’ve been awake since 2.30am this morn, head is spinning and now I have to do a full day at work 🤢. I’ll double check the medichecks site again.
@IVFlife my clinic were happy for my lining to be over 7mm.
@2mumlife thanks so much…fingers crossed xxx

Ellenn · 07/02/2024 07:32

@2mumlife I think we posted at the same time! Got my result back as 233 so I’m happy with that since it was taken quite early, hopefully it continues to go up 🤞

@Eiremogra hope you have your results soon too! x

IVFlife · 07/02/2024 08:59

Good luck to anyone wating for results today

2mumlife · 07/02/2024 09:34

@Ellenn Thats sounding good for dates as you took at 9dp5dt right? So my clinic would say anything over 70 at 10dp5dt is what they would be wanting :) Yay! Congratulations! Will your clinic book you in for an early pregnancy scan now? Are you getting any extra scans / tests / meds due to history of losses? I’m so hoping this is it for you

@Eiremogra Hope your result comes in soon x
