@2mumlife thats good to hear your clinics cut off! I was really hoping for over 100! Last transfer I only had 50 at 9dp5dt so this one is looking a bit better 🤞I’m going to try and get a scan at 6+4 either at nInewells or EPU. The consultant at forth valley said I should be able to get reassurance scans with them when I’ve had the miscarriages so I might phone them next week to see when they will let me have one! You must not have long to wait until your first scan?

2mumlife · 07/02/2024 10:31

@Ellenn Definitely looking promising for you! That’s great you can get some reassurance scans from EPU as well. Our clinic scan isn’t until the 26th so awhile to go still. Basically any day I don’t bleed I see as a win 🥇 I had a big bleed (like soaked through my trousers in a massive gush in the middle of a work meeting) with DD about a week after testing positive and it was terrifying, so I’m just hoping for no bleeding really

Ellenn · 07/02/2024 10:45

@2mumlife how scary! Yes I think I am compulsively checking my pants or whenever I go to the toilet for blood 🙈the clinics always seem to like to scan later don’t they I suppose hopefully easier to see all fine at that stage. I think I’m going to get a scan on 22nd (which will be quite early) but I’d rather know earlier than hang about in limbo. Do you look at the miscarriage probability chart? I’m constantly on that too! It’s nice seeing the risk going down though every day

2mumlife · 07/02/2024 10:50

@Ellenn Clinic scanned me early because of the bleed the last time and it’s amazing what a difference the 10 days or so makes, totally different looking between the 2 scans (one was just like a little circle with a tiny flicker of a heart beat and the other was like a proper jelly baby with arm and leg nubs). Totally mad.

no I’ve not been looking at probability charts, would drive me mad!

2mumlife · 08/02/2024 16:34

@Ellenn For info I heard back super quick from the Forth Valley midwife team - they've made me an (in person) booking in appointment at 8 weeks and given me an appointment for 12 week scan as well. Feels really scary as with DD I didn't contact them until after early pregnancy scan, so feels strange to have things booked in already. It also feels like a really long time until the 12 week scan. Trying to keep me positive thinking face on that everything will be ok until then.

StuffLoriThangs · 08/02/2024 16:36

Ooh looks like I’m starting prostrap end of the month.

Ellenn · 08/02/2024 16:37

@2mumlife thats great you heard back so quickly! Got it confirmed scan in 2 wks eek when I will be 6+4 wks then I will ask the EPU if I can get another one (providing the first was ok) later on! Just need to count down the days now 😬 very scary

Ellenn · 08/02/2024 16:37

@2mumlife sorry for silly question but what is a ‘booking in’ appointment?

StuffLoriThangs · 08/02/2024 17:41

Sorry to butt in @Ellenn a booking in appointment is when the midwife sees you when you’re early pregnant (between 8 to 11 weeks). They discuss future appointments, check everything is ok at home. That type of thing

2mumlife · 08/02/2024 18:12

@Ellenn As above it’s normally your first appointment with midwife, they do your height weight, medical history etc. Ask if you’re being domestically abused (there’s a couple points they are meant to do this). Some other stuff about mental health if I remember correctly. Basically it’s a bit of a risk assessment.

@StuffLoriThangs That’s exciting you can get your Prostap done! :)

@Eiremogra Still keeping you in my thoughts and hoping test day was positive for you 🌷

Ellenn · 08/02/2024 20:26

Ah I see! Thanks @2mumlife @StuffLoriThangs . I’ve never got as far as 8 wks before so not actually done the whole midwife thing. I think I will wait until I have a couple of scans first before letting them know x

@StuffLoriThangs sorry I think I missed it is your prostap for a FET? It’s great when you finally have a date to start isn’t it rather than waiting

IVFlife · 09/02/2024 00:23

Got a call from the clinic today to say we have to start transfer meds now. So excited but also totally didn't realise it was so soon. So starting estradiol tabs in the morning. So overwhelmed.

What helps thicken lining? I'll do my usual supplements and also pomegranate jucie and Brazil nuts

2mumlife · 09/02/2024 07:39

@Ellenn That sounds like a good plan.

@IVFlife That exciting to get going! Honestly the only thing that really helped thicken my lining when it was thinner was more estradiol 😂 I did the whole Brazil nuts and pomegranate and beetroot juice and eating more protein and the max Donald’s after transfer and pineapple and I don’t think any of it really makes that much of a difference personally. Did help me try to feel a sense of control / like I was doing something though, and definitely doesn’t hurt :)

2mumlife · 09/02/2024 07:41

@IVFlife Actually 1 thing that HAS made a difference - the cycles I’ve had success, I relaxed 😎 honestly, my successful cycles are the ones I stopped obsessing over everything and just tried to carry on life as best as normal and surrender to fate x

IVFlife · 09/02/2024 10:35

Thank you. Yeah I am pretty relaxed in that I know I can't control the outcome too much - I know that very much from my own egg round. But I think I'm wanting to do little things that might help if possible just so I have that control and involvement. Because its a donor egg cycle I feel very much like I am not doing much.

Ellenn · 09/02/2024 10:44

@IVFlife how exciting!! When is your first scan?

2mumlife · 09/02/2024 11:05

@IVFlife You are absolutely doing lots! You are making everything physically and mentally the most welcoming place for your embryo x

StuffLoriThangs · 09/02/2024 11:14

@Ellenn i only made it to one booking in appointment which ended in loss and all other pregnancies ended in loss too. So I’m not sure I’ll attend how I feel about a booking in appt now.

yes, I think the prostap is for a FET but tbh I think they’ll need to give me a period first and give me other meds. The date they gave me was end of Feb. I was really gutted it was so far away, but I guess we need to start somewhere

Ellenn · 09/02/2024 12:56

@StuffLoriThangs i hope time goes speedy for you, I know what you mean it’s so frustrating when you just want to start straight away 😢

definitely holding off from phoning/registering at the moment just feel like it’s too early days incase it goes wrong …

StuffLoriThangs · 09/02/2024 15:04

@Ellenn I think with ivf they will do a few scans before you need to worry about a booking in. Fingers crossed

2mumlife · 09/02/2024 17:56

@StuffLoriThangs I had prostap for 1 cycle - I think it was actually my egg collection round though? I remember after the prostap you have a bleed and then start drugs for the cycle if that makes sense.

I can completely understand not wanting to do the booking in appointment if you’ve experienced loss. I feel really mixed about whether we are jinxing things contacting them earlier this time around.

@Ellenn How are you getting on? You having any symptoms? X

Ellenn · 09/02/2024 18:57

@2mumlife i suppose by doing it you might get a scan close to 12 weeks as I suspect if I get that far I might need to wait longer!

struggled today in work it seemed like the nausea hits me in the afternoon just for a few hours? Bit random but it’s happened the last couple of days. Just felt miserable while trying to work on a farm all afternoon in the horrible weather being f
freezing and 🤢 only just back home now

How about you? do you have much nausea?

Eiremogra · 09/02/2024 21:36

Thanks so much @2mumlife . What a week it’s been! The Medichecks results just came back today…I sent them on Monday! I completely chickened out and didn’t do the CB tests during the week either. Today was torture..oh the nerves!! Finally opened the results this evening plus did the CB test…..BFP! Can’t believe it. HCG 142 @ 9DP5DT. Now I’m stressing out all the things that could go wrong…xxx

Ellenn · 09/02/2024 22:47

@Eiremogra amazing news 🥰 congratulations!!! You must be so relieved, wow those results took ages! Have you told your clinic yet? x

Eiremogra · 09/02/2024 22:53

Thanks so much @Ellenn ..5 days to get the results back! I emailed the clinic this evening but likely won’t hear anything back until Monday. Not really sure what to do next - think I’m going to repeat the HCG. Seeing an increase in numbers would be reassuring. How are you?xx
