Oh gosh that must have been a nerve wracking time for you - glad it was okay in the end - six weeks is a long time to wait for the results.

Ahh it's hard but overall I'm staying positive - OH is too. Thanks for your words of reassurance @seekingbabyk 💖

seekingbabyk · 08/03/2023 19:39

@MinBins yes it was awful at the time they allocated us a macmillan nurse too which was scary but thankfully he is fine as I'm sure your little bean will be ❤️

1stcycle · 09/03/2023 09:24

@MinBins sorry your test results showed some risks, but like you said they are being extra cautious and I have hope that everything will be good 😊

sorry I have been quiet last few days my hubby banned me off google and mumsnet etc as I was going down the rabbit hole lol

I called EPU and they said as I’m not 6 weeks yet might not see much in scan so might not be reassuring and cause more stress (I would have been 5+4 when I called) they said as I wasn’t in pain in one side/shoulder etc to just monitor it and and if bleeding got worse or any pain then call back up. I explained how I seem to bleed when I’m more active and they said bed rest as much as I can and to be honest I haven’t actually had any bleeding or cramping at all now since Tuesday and I’ve not walked the dog or done house cleaning and I’ve WFH. Before then I had at least some sort of blood when wiping and cramps and gushes every so often mainly after walking the dog or cleaning.

With regards to the tests I was doing easy @ home ones I ran out of first response on Monday. I think I was just being obsessive that they didn’t seem to get any darker and stayed the same darkness for the last 6 days, but then I read a few threads about sometimes the HCG is high and it stops them getting darker so did one test FMU, then diluted 1 with water 50% water and the same FMU and then 75% water with the same FMU and they were all the same darkness. So that made me feel a little better that they just don’t seem to get darker even with different concentrations. So now after being absolutely crazy testing I’m not doing anymore and as long as I don’t have any big bleeds or bad pain I’m going to just rest up as much as I can and wait till my scan on the 21st. Rollercoaster of emotions is the only way to describe this journey haha

seekingbabyk · 09/03/2023 09:33

@1stcycle awwww I'm so sorry you are going through all this and sorry if I worried you mentioning ectopic. I'm so glad you are resting and that's helping with the bleeding. That's great that EPU aren't too concerned. Hope your scan rolls around quickly for you xx

Imisscoffee2021 · 09/03/2023 09:36

@1stcycle I was advised bed rest too, rest up as much as you can and not long now too 21st, I know the stress of early bleeds and the rollercoaster of such highs and lows, your husband is so wise as it's such a minefield getting in google and mumsnet! I probably read the same threads as you about bleeding in early pregnancy when it happened to me, dozens of them! So glad the cramps and bleeding have stopped since Tuesday :)

1stcycle · 09/03/2023 10:15

@seekingbabyk no you didn’t worry me, it was google and other threads you read so many and some are good and reassuring and others are lost the baby etc. I think with us because what we have all been through it’s hard not to worry over every little thing. But at end of day what’s is meant to be will be and we can’t change it this early on so I’m just staying positive now and not going to raise any concerns unless it’s bad bleeding or pain and hopefully see a lovely heartbeat in 12 days!

@Imisscoffee2021 I know we all probably Google the same things and read the same things! Thanks I’m going to take advantage of the bed rest and make hubby do cleaning haha! I feel bad I can’t walk my dog we usually have a lunch walk and then after work. Hubby still does the morning one and then I’ve had the dog walker this week for in the day and sometimes in evening when hubby gets home he will walk him so he is having plenty but I just miss it! But needs must!

MinBins · 09/03/2023 13:09

Thanks @1stcycle it's positive that your bleeding has stopped as you've rested more - keeping everything crossed for you!

Easy at home tests are the worst for getting you worried - mine used to be faint then dark without me changing anything and like you I stopped.

I think I'm also off google for now too, you definitely get sent down a rabbit hole.

Tinkerbell098 · 09/03/2023 16:18

@MinBinsW I'm sorry about the test results. As others have said, it's really not a diagnostic test, and they use so many criteria to make a risk profile, to be on the safe side. It's great they'll be running further tests to reassure you. Keeping everything crossed for you. Also, the chance they've given you, is still a small chance, and I've read so many cases where it's turned out to be nothing.

@1stcycle glad the bed rest is helping. I think the GP I went to see when I had some spotting said the same thing. My eas@homey tests didn't get any darker for days, so I stopped testing too. I think once they reach a limit, that's it. 21st will be here in no time. I've got everything crossed for you

@seekingbabykX oh that's a real scare! Glad it turned out to be nothing. How are you? Will you be starting your next cycle soon?

seekingbabyk · 09/03/2023 20:53

Hi @Tinkerbell098 - yes I'm good thanks! We are off to Paris on Wednesday for a couple of days and then baseline is provisionally booked for 23rd. Apparently there's a menopur shortage so not sure I'll be on that this time. I'm keen to get going though I'll probably be praying for it to be over once stims side effects kick in! Also be glad to have the supplements bit done. Do you just go into a prenatal after egg collection or carry on with the other pills too?

My parents have just got back together after 15 years apart and it's pretty intense seeing them a lot at the moment so I'm worried about hiding it this time (we have just kept this to ourselves) but im sure we'll get through. My birthday is in the middle of stims this time so I think for collection we are going to have a night in london maybe catch a show the night before so no one gets suspicious. The things we do to hide stuff!

How are you? Are you going to find out what you're having?x

Tinkerbell098 · 10/03/2023 08:41

@seekingbabyk oh that's great you have a date booked in now. It'll fly by after that. I stayed on the supplements until transfer as some of the ones I took were meant to help the lining. I stopped CoQ10 after collection as that is mainly for egg quality. After transfer, I was only on folic acid and Vit D. I never took any other prenatals and now I have stopped folic acid. I'm planning to take Vit D until we start getting some sun!
How great your parents have got back together after all that time apart! I understand the hiding part, it's not easy. I had to do lubion and cyclogest pessaries during Christmas time, when everyone was here (my OH has a massive family and so many nieces and nephews). It was so hard to sneak out for a bit to do timed injections and pessaries amidst all the planned festivities. I had told a couple of people (including family) on my first round, but didn't on the frozen round, I found it eased the pressure off a lot, not telling people. The birthday plans sound great and a good way to hide from having to explain yourself. My birthday was 3 days before egg collection so we had three days away in Bournemouth to get away from everyone wanting to see me haha!
Enjoy Paris, that sounds amazing X

Tinkerbell098 · 10/03/2023 08:43

@seekingbabyk sorry, forgot to say, yes, we will find out at the 20 week scan, end of next month!

seekingbabyk · 10/03/2023 08:50

@Tinkerbell098 awww that's so exciting you must be counting down the days to the scan! Yes a weekend away sounds a good idea actually maybe I'll look into that but it'll be during Easter holidays so we will have to see what's available.

It's just the pressure of the "how did it go", "any symptoms yet", "have you tested yet", etc and then if it doesn't work having to explain that whilst dealing with it yourself. Plus my mum has no idea how to keep a secret so that's a big factor 😂😂😂

Tinkerbell098 · 10/03/2023 08:59

@seekingbabyk yes, cannot wait! Have a holiday booked a week after the scan too, so lots to look forward to. I know it was horrible having to tell people about the MC, as they were asking about the outcome after the transfer. So this time, apart from OH, only you guys knew and that was great! Haha my mum's the same! Really can't keep anything to herself!

seekingbabyk · 10/03/2023 09:12

@Tinkerbell098 awww that will be lovely a nice babymoon 😊 this little group has been a godsend to me too - very grateful for you all

ralno2 · 11/03/2023 07:45

Hey everyone!

It's been so crazy in work this week haven't had a chance to write on the thread!

@Tinkerbell098 enjoy the break!

@MinBins thinking of you, glad they're doing more tests for reassurance.

@1stcycle the bed rest will help, just taking it easy. Your scan on the 21st will be here in no time!

I have my 8 week scan with the fertility clinic on the 17th March, if all is ok I'll be discharged from the clinic. I've already self referred to the NHS as they have this maternity chat app once you register and you can speak to a midwife on it. It's been great.

I have had sharp shooting pains since yesterday, not cramps like a weird shooting pain up through my uterus. I'm worried I've been overdoing it in work - I had to move around furniture yesterday and concerned the shooting pains started after that and haven't stopped since yesterday. No bleeding however

MinBins · 11/03/2023 11:20

Thanks @ralno2 - hope the pains have subsided, it may just be your body prepping for change and growth too. Good luck for your scan on Friday!

@Tinkerbell098 thank you, we're staying positive. I called back the nurse the day after to go through everything again, and everything was fine except for low Papp-a, which she said was common with IVF pregnancies. It was reassuring.

Holiday sounds great! I'm trying to get a holiday abroad in but I wasn't sure about flights and whether to stay in U.K. but my preference was definitely sunshine 😁

Lovely to hear about your parents and enjoy the holiday! We only told a couple of people about IVF and when I made the announcement I told a few more. Understand the difficulty in hiding things! Hope you have a lovely time in Paris! @seekingbabyk

1stcycle · 13/03/2023 08:14

@seekingbabyk a break to Paris before stims start sounds perfect! Enjoy!

@Tinkerbell098 20 week scan at end of the month how exciting! Nearly half way to seeing baby 🤍

@ralno2 i hope the pain has stopped. I had a few niggles here and there on the weekend sometimes sharp sometimes dull and I know it’s hard not to worry with each one but it’s proper the uterus stretching and getting ready! 4 days until your scan and hopefully can relax a little after then!

seekingbabyk · 13/03/2023 22:31

Thanks girls I can't wait just to have a few days away! You may have guessed by now that we LOVE a trip 🤦🏼‍♀️

Awww @ralno2 im sorry you have pains - not long now although I know everything drags when you're waiting for scans, tests, results!

I'm glad yours have calmed down @1stcycle

@MinBins hopefully not much longer god you to get your test results too. Keeping everything crossed for you xx

Tinkerbell098 · 16/03/2023 16:52

@ralno2 all the best for the scan tomorrow! How are you feeling?

@1stcycle hope you are ok. Not too long to wait for the scan now X

MinBins · 17/03/2023 09:08

Good luck on your scan today @ralno2!

Imisscoffee2021 · 17/03/2023 10:08

Happy scan day @ralno2 ! X

ralno2 · 17/03/2023 16:08

Hi Everyone

Unfortunately not great news, the foetus measured 5weeks and 6 days. It should be 8 weeks.

They also did not find a heartbeat. I had my bloods done and another scan booked in 10 days time.

Imisscoffee2021 · 17/03/2023 18:38

@ralno2 so sorry that your scan wasn't good news, when will you get the bloods back? Sending lots of love and hope x

OP posts:
seekingbabyk · 17/03/2023 19:05

I'm so sorry @ralno2 - make sure you are taking good care of yourself. Is there a chance of everything being ok at next scan?x

Decaffe · 17/03/2023 19:05

So sorry to hear that @ralno2 💐
