Hi:

I have a trip to Costa Rica planned just before the embryo transfer. The number of cases there is low but before my previous transfer I had to sign a document that I haven't been to places with Zika virus for the last six months.

I was wondering if anyone made a similar decision recently. Have you been able to discuss it with your fertility team? What did they say? I found this article and it seems to suggest waiting for 6 months as the virus can lurk in vaginal fluids.

I wouldn't go, personally. Zika is a risk, and would the trip really be worth the worry, and potential guilt for you and potential serious consequences for a baby? I'd suggest either rescheduling/cancelling the trip or postponing your FET.
