Progesterone injections (PIO) - Bad reaction and Pregnancy Outcome? (TW: pregnancy mentioned)

Hi all,

Hoping to hear from some wisdom/some reassurance from those who have been through IVF. I had really severe reactions to the progesterone intramuscular shots (severe inflammation, required one course of steroids, switched to once every three day injections but still had bad injection site inflammation and pain but it was more manageable). I had to take tylenol regularly to deal with the pain, and when my PCP did bloodwork, I had really elevated inflammatory markers in my blood (CRP of around 100).

Fortunately, my embryo transfer worked and I made it past the 10 weeks of PIO shots and now everything is back to normal and I am pain free.

I am thrilled to be pregnant and so far everything has proceeded normally/healthfully, but I'm so worried about that 10-week period of significant inflammation my body went through and wondering if it could have harmed the pregnancy/development in any way. There are no studies on this and so would just love to hear from your all's experience.

Any moms out there who have had really bad PIO reactions and went on to have healthy children? Ages of children and general health status?

I am so anxious about it and would love some reassurance if it's out there :)
