IVF clinic to start treatment in UK before FET in South Africa (!)

Hi - bit of a strange one, but we did IVF in South Africa while we lived there and then relocated back to the UK while I was pregnant. We now have two embryos in the freezer with our South African clinic and would like to think about another FET for a possible sibling. The costs of transporting embryos from SA to the UK are exorbitant and it would be much cheaper for us to fly out and have the FET done there, but I need to find a clinic in the UK that will help me start my protocol, do an initial scan to check lining etc etc and start me on medication. We're up in the North West and I called two clinics in Newcastle and Manchester (CARE) but neither of them were willing to do 'half' a cycle, only the full spec from scan to FET.

Has anyone had experience of doing the beginning of a FET cycle in the UK but the transfer abroad? I'm willing to travel to London as that is where my office is (I work remotely) and could combine a work trip with clinic visits. We have a dog and can't afford to go out for months to SA.

Thank you in advance!

I had FET done with a clinic in Europe and the way it worked for me was the clinic just did all the prep remotely. So they sent me prescriptions which I filled here. When I needed scans I had them done by my local ultrasound direct clinic. I then sent the scans to my consultant who would review and advise accordingly. Then I just went over for the actual transfer.

It's quite common for people to have treatment in Europe when living in the uk and I think this is the most common way of doing it

I’d contact a few more clinics or ask the one in SA if they can recommend a UK clinic. A friend of mine had scans and bloods in Glasgow (we’re in Edinburgh) before going down to London for FET, and I had some scans at the same clinic before going to Greece, so I’m sure you’ll find somewhere.

Thank you! Would you mind telling me the name of the Glasgow clinic?

I did much the same as @DaffodilSunshine when I had treatment abroad.
I just had blood tests and scans done privately in the UK but did not have any fertility clinic involvement in the UK.
