Thank you @Yuliaaa I dint know how I feel really. Very flat but I was prepared for this.

The nurse managed to catch my doctor before he went to theatre but I was driving, she's left me a message to say drop back down to 3 estrogen tablets and start cyclogest for 7 days. So will hopefully bleed soon. I think I'll have next cycle off everything and see what the plan is for another FET and if I feel OK, do it on the cycle after.

Its our little girl's due date on Wednesday 💔

I'm going to throw out all the vile beetroot juice and smoothies and have a drink tonight xx

seven201 · 01/07/2022 11:51

Oh @VenusStarr I'm so sorry. It definitely sounds like the right decision to cancel and to have a cycle off. Totally crappy though of course. Wish there was something I could say. Definitely get on the booze tonight. Xx

VenusStarr · 01/07/2022 14:46

Thanks @seven201 I hope you're OK.

Spoken to the nurse. Plan is to wait for my bleed after cyclogest for a week, I usually come on pretty quickly after cyclogest. Then I'll book in for a cd9 scan with my ivf doctor so he can see what my natural lining is doing and we'll have our cycle review at the same time and take it from there. I don't think we'd go ahead that cycle as a natural FET, although that may be an option? Not sure if they'd suggest that. And not sure I'd want that.

That sounds a good plan. I ended up with a short notice unmedicated cycle once. I guess you'll have to wait until that scan. It sounds like they're being proactive at least.

If you're discussing options at that appt I would ask about estrogen patches; my newer ivf doctor this round had me on 8mg of tablets to begin with then that went up to 12mg, and from the start I was on 2x estrogen patches changed every 3 days, but he changed that to every 2 days and says he thinks the patches work best. No idea if he's right or not! I also have the neupogen infusion, which I know is unproven, but my measurements do seem to improve after that (or they measure generously to make me feel better!). I also have viagra (25mg twice a day) to supposedly help lining thickness, and aspirin too. Just some options to discuss.

Janefx40 · 01/07/2022 16:08

@VenusStarr I'm so sorry. This process is just exhausting isn't it? Really wish things were different for you. I think it sounds good to have a scan in a natural cycle although I'm not sure how much day 9 tells you on its own. I've had 2 natural cycle FETs (not including this one) and a natural cycle ERA. For me the lining always starts around the same at day 9 but can end up in very different places by ovulation.

Anyway forget about it for now. Throw out the beetroot and open up the wine.

Sending you lots of love x

Thank you @seven201 my clinic seem quite conservative in trying things. But I'll make a note of things to discuss.

@Janefx40 thank you. My normal cycles are shorter. I remember when I had my first baseline scan at the ivf clinic (after my 3rd loss) and on cd9 I had 2x 16mm follicles and my lining was 9.9mm. Went home and conceived number 4. I've not had a lining that good since 😕
I think because my era was on a medicated cycle, I'm a bit nervous to go off piste and do a natural FET. Plus it might not even be an option anyway.

Am miffed I've still got to take sodding estrogen and progesterone. But happy I have a rough plan. Wine has been purchased, husband is on his way home and there's a new stranger things out today, so that's my short term plan 🙂

How's your cycle going? Xx

VenusStarr · 01/07/2022 17:10

I'm on a thin lining Facebook group and someone just posted about the link with metformin and thin lining. She said that she's had a terrible round like me and couldn't get above 6mm. She came off metforming and git to 7.9mm and is transferring next week. Apparentlyit can hinder estrogen levels?? Thibk im goung to come off it, theres no clinical need for me to be on it, he just said give it a try for my adenomyosis.

Even the thought of trying a medicated FET again without it has made me feel better.

Janefx40 · 01/07/2022 17:28

@VenusStarr glad you're feeling more hopeful and great to have an explanation.

My cycle is still an unknown. Lining today was better but not amazing. It's thickening but not radically. Still not had LH surge yet. So it could be fine by tomorrow or it could be the same as today.

I was in a panic today in case I got the bad sonographer again. I didn't but I also don't know her name so not sure how I will avoid her!!

@VenusStarr that is interesting about the metformin! I’m on 3g of that each day. That’s something I might ask about when I next see a doctor. About 3 1/2 years ago I was out on 1g a day when doing clomid/tamoxifen/letrazole ovulation rounds (and my lining was not great then either), then it has been upped until Mr S put it all the way up to 3g. I have pcos but my bmi is 25 and a bit, so I was a surprised to be on such a huge dose (as from what I read higher doses are for obese women). Enjoy stranger things and wine.

@Janefx40 Sorry your cycle is going a bit slowly. Although frustrating, it shouldn’t mean anything bad is going on in there. Hope you don’t get the bad sonographer again!

VenusStarr · 01/07/2022 18:07

There's definitely something in it @seven201 🧐 I'm pretty much decided I'm stopping it.

@Janefx40 I'm sorry it's slow going. What cd are you? Hope you can avoid the bad sonographer! It makes such a difference, had a really kind nurse today. How many scans have you had so far? X

Gardenlady543 · 01/07/2022 19:45

Sorry to hear about the tough day @VenusStarr it's good that they could get in touch with a plan, if you can go ahead with a transfer next time then great, if not then you can keep me company in the going nowhere fast club!

@Janefx40 fingers crossed for some thick lining soon!

StillTrying10000 · 01/07/2022 21:04

@VenusStarr I’m so sorry to hear they’ve cancelled it. So sad. Enjoy all the wine! Sending hugs xxx

MyEasterEggs · 02/07/2022 00:15

@seven201 yes I found a local reflexologist and it was the craziest appt ever 😆 the playlist kept changing to banging drums, a cat was whining at the door, her phone was vibrating most of the time and then she offered me facial reflexology and dropped a crystal on my head. Strangely relaxing between the chaos! Hope you’re doing okay 💛

Oh Lordy!

MyEasterEggs · 02/07/2022 07:15

@seven201 think I’ll go back to the woman I saw before. She’s a bit further away but the sessions were blissful. Hope you’re giving yourself lots of TLC too 💛

Janefx40 · 02/07/2022 11:31

@MyEasterEggs hmmmmm that sounds very odd! But quite funny at least. Your original woman sounds better to me!!

Still no progress on this cycle. Getting tired of daily scans. Still not got positive OPK. Follicle is growing but very slowly and lining hasn't thickened since yesterday. Ugh!

OP posts:
VenusStarr · 02/07/2022 12:01

Oh @Janefx40 I'm sorry things aren't progressing as you'd hope. What's your lining at now? Have you got to go back tomorrow? It sounds exhausting.

Thanks @Gardenlady543 think it'll be the going nowhere fast club to be honest. I don't think I want to do a natural FET, particularly with no prep. I don't have an immune protocol for a natural cycle ( I guess it wouldn't necessarily be that different to a medicated FET), but the thought of it all being a rush and getting to Epsom for intralipids etc doesn't appeal. But I'm interested how my lining will be without meds. In my fresh transfer it was only 7.2mm.

Thank you @StillTrying10000 I hope you're feeling well 💗

I had a horrible experience with a reflexologist so sticking to acupuncture @MyEasterEggs

Off to get my hair cut and more wine later. Looking forward to a break.

Janefx40 · 03/07/2022 09:21

Just had my scan. After a disappointing scan yesterday I had a positive OPK this morning and my lining jumped up. So we are on!

Fab news @Janefx40 🥰 lovely to gave some good news. Fascinating about your lining improving so quickly. X

@Janefx40 great news! 🧡

Hi ladies, can I jump in as an ERA newbie- getting the trio shortly, is it best to start FET shortly afterwards (after any antibiotics etc.) or does time make a difference after. Thanks for the help

Amazing!! What does your lining measure? So when is the embryo going in?

Hello. It depends what it shows really. I how low good bacteria, but not really awful so I had to treat that for a couple of weeks before I started a FET round.

seven201 · 03/07/2022 15:49

@VenusStarr how is your hair and did the wine go down well?

Janefx40 · 03/07/2022 21:44

@Endure100 welcome. Yes I think it depends on the results but in theory if you have completed all the treatment recommended then you can start as soon as the treatment has taken effect.

I'm pleased my lining got there but now paranoid that I may have caught Covid and would have to delay anyway. Loads of people around me seem to have it and think my throat feels scratchy. Maybe I'm just being paranoid. Hope so x
