Day 4 test - is this FSH a little high and if so what does it mean?

Hi,

My blood test results are as follows:

LH - 6.1 U/L
FSH - 9.5 U/L
Oestradial - 140pmol/L

The GP says it's ok, but this is also the same GP who said that these tests could be done on Day 21 Hmm

Google tells me the FSH is a little high, if so, what could this mean? Could it be accounted for by the fact they were done on day 4 rather than Day 3?

Thank you.

To add - my Day 21 progesterone test was 38.

FSH fluctuates from month to month. I had months with FSH 8 and months with 6.

Didn't want to read and not reply. Also had day 3 bloods done today and have been reassured on more than one occasion that anywhere between days 2-5 (but ideally between 2-4) is absolutely fine.

As far as I'm aware, TSH reference ranges vary slightly based on age, so this might account for some level of change. But I think 9.5 is pretty spot on / not too high at all.

I got the reference range from the GP today and the upper end of ‘normal’ is 10.2. So it seems I am just on the right side of normal, but it isn’t optimal.

Thanks for your replies Smile this is such a lonely process.

@Decaffe try not to worry too much. It fluctuates. One month was 8.5 and then another month was 6.5. The results must be corelated with other factors like age, AFC etc.

I had a bad reading of 15 last May and I was told I couldnt have IVF as needs to be under 12. I took a load of supplements including DHEA and wheatgrass and my FSH lowered to 6.6 in September. Lots of luck x
