I can't see that anyone else has started one yet, so I thought I may as well!

Just got my calendar through today and will be downregging in three weeks time, starting stims in late October, with EC provisionally in early November. This is my second round, which will now be ICSI-only after my last one ended up with a total fertilisation failure

Anyone else on the same sort of timeframe?

@ChocolateinBruges thank you I'm so nervous it doesn't work cause I paid for my Ivf and don't know if I can afford it all again. Fingers crossed it does work 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Hello! Sorry its been a hectic week for us! Had my first scan Weds and they said my right ovary was a little slower but everything was as it should be at the early stage. Had my 2nd scan this morning and although there's progress I'm still not ready. So they've booked another scan for Monday... with being at risk of OHSS I was expecting super follicles so feeling a but flat with one big and a couple small on the right and 3 or 4 large and more small on the left.
Also feeling pretty lonely, and can't tell if it's the hormones. Had an argument with my OH on the hospital carpark and stormed off! He just says some really off the cuff comments and I've been pretty independent through the whole stimms cause I'm stubborn like that....so he's just expected me to get on with it. With us also trying to move house I feel like he's almost forgotten about the whole thing, usually in bed when I'm stimming and with little side effects I'm getting no slack when I do wobble 😭

@LivingonaPrayerandGin i had similar with 5-6 follicles and then two days later I had 30. So it may increase! I had to have scan every two days. I’m still in pain and bleeding nearly a week post EC so a smaller number of follicles but good ones for you might be a good thing!

I think sometimes men just don’t know what to do in these situations, they aren’t very good at reading us!

@BlueSilver23 oh really?! That's reassuring, thank you. Because I wasted a third of my first dose, I'm that short of my final so they've given me extra but of menopur rattan meriofert as it was all they had... which doesn't feel right.
I know that's the reason he appears like a twat 😅 he's trying to help practically with the moving etc as it's what he's good at but I just expected a little more TLC!

@LivingonaPrayerandGin yeah I had my final dose of meriofert and fostimon stopped as my levels were too high, so it’s a balance! I was a bit disappointed that despite having 30 follicles I only had 19 eggs and froze 14. So less than half my follicles returned a viable egg! But given the size of my ovaries and pain now I can’t imagine what state id be in if there were even more! Like you I was hoping for loads of eggs but in hindsight perhaps not such a good thing! Currently stuck in bed under orders not move about too much due to risk of torsion…. And advised not to return to work at start of next week

But still slightly disappointed that I was so close to getting over the magic 20 eggs line, was hoping a little that I wouldn’t need the second round I have booked!

@BlueSilver23 oh god sorry to hear you're on bed rest! It's such a fine line really isn't it...although I'll be thrilled if we have 14 to freeze! That's seriously impressive. So did you have three scans or two? My first was early just in case, today's was the standard 9 day review..

@LivingonaPrayerandGin I actually lost count! It was more than 3 probably about 5 altogether but I only had 7 days of stims and then the trigger shot the next day. It was supposed to be slightly longer but they stopped it a bit early. Yes 14 is a great number of course and it would be be ungracious to be disappointed with that, it was just so close to 20 which is what I’m aiming for to freeze before starting treatment. Just really considering whether or not to do the second round or make do with the 14 to freeze after having such a rough time with this one.

Are you on the short or long protocol?

@BlueSilver23 aw I know what you mean, we get fixated on something and then its just a come down when it's not as I hoped! I think that's what happened to me today...
I'm on a short protocol, so EC Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest.
We're you always planning a freeze all or was it just recommended after such a high count? What do you mean by doing second round, rather than the frozen?
Also, I've forgotten...if EC is on Tues, is that counted as day one? So ET on day 5 would be a Sunday??

Hey, hope everyone is coping well? Have been abit distant last few days, I do apologise...

Have had a really rough few days. So me and my other half have our own salon, one of the girls have gone down with covid, and 2 others have been off sick. Was meant to be off since Tuesday, but with no staff have been forced to work. To top it off, after transfer Monday we had a UK holiday booked, which we have also had to cancel, and we now have to work Thursday Friday and Saturday. I get this isn't anything major to a lot of you, who are super hero's and work through the whole thing, but running a 10 girl team, with 8 sunbeds, hair and beauty, is pretty damn stressful, and really was trying to avoid it. Plus with our supervisor being off with covid, that has created a whole other meltdown!

Anyway, I have my Double FET Monday.... it's finally only 2 sleeps away :) we have 3 blasts frozen, and I'm now starting to worry about % of them that make it through the thaw. Am I just worrying over nothing? Do you lose many?

After the transfer I will probably be signing out for a couple of days as I will be turning my phone off and concentrating on these embryos growing- hopefully, and I don't want work or anyone contacting me with any drama lol. So want to wish everyone all the very best and sending loads of positive thoughts to each and everyone of you x

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 oh no that sounds so stressful!! Its so annoying how things falk through right at this important time, I really feel for you! You do right after transfer, I might do this same!

What is everyone's views on sex after embryo transfer. Our clinic didn't say anything so not sure when it is ok again? I want to wait for our test day but then is it ok to go back to normal? X

I will take some time out to catch up with where you are all at -- right now I'm devastated that my cycle has been cancelled due to no response to stimms. Back to the drawing board next year and even closer to 42 :(

People who have been through EC before, without too much tmi, how did you find your period afterwards? It’s been 6 days since my EC and I think mine be making an appearance but with my ongoing bleeding I’m not too sure! I’ve heard that it can quite heavy/painful post EC/stims? Have I got a nightmare coming my way?

@firefly37 I'm really sorry to hear that :( have a really boozy Christmas and really enjoy it, so all the things you wouldn't have been able to, then new year new baby :) is this first attempt at stims?

@BlueSilver23 thanks for your kind thoughts, will be ok once tomorrow is over, I have decided I am going to bury my head in the sand for the next week and pretend it hasn't happened, need to get to next Sunday then I actually have some time off work to sort my own head out :) x

This is my third stimms, Im starting to feel really rubbish when I say I have had two miracle ivf babies in 2017 and 2019 as I feel like a fraud being here ... This was an attempt for number 3 before my eggs are finished (I'm nearly 42 and not ready to not have another baby)... My first two long protocols with 1) gonal f and 2) Menopur worked for us... This was a short protocol with Pergoveris and I literally didn't respond at all... I think I will try to enjoy a few drinks at my work Christmas party soon and then will be requesting a long protocol for the new year with everything crossed xx

@firefly37 it's amazing IVF has worked for you before, although that just make it extra disappointing now :( I wonder why they changed protocol for you when it clearly worked well before.... I would be questioning that and defo demanding long next time x

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 thank you... It is amazing and I know we are so lucky. I naively thought this fresh cycle would work as well (had two failed frozens)... The protocol has come about from a different clinic and doctor... But they had my history so I will be questioning the decision on Tuesday. Lots and lots of luck for ur transfer tomorrow x

@firefly37 sorry that you're having a tough time. Don't feel like a fraud when you are trying for any number of baby and it not being successful it is tough. Hopefully with a different protocol it will work out next time x
