I can't see that anyone else has started one yet, so I thought I may as well!

Just got my calendar through today and will be downregging in three weeks time, starting stims in late October, with EC provisionally in early November. This is my second round, which will now be ICSI-only after my last one ended up with a total fertilisation failure

Anyone else on the same sort of timeframe?

@GodspeedJune yes it was 2 days early but very unlikely to change as it's definitely AF ☹️ they won't take the result until tomorrow and I've had to stay on the progesterone, but will be the last one tonight as I'll do the official test first thing tomorrow morning so won't have to do that pessary.

@PositiveeVibes how did your first injection go today? The countdown to EC is on!!

@KatRee thank you...it's so hard but lucky to have Frosties and when I'm back in the right headspace will start moving forwards with things again.
My final scan before EC only showed 5 follicles at the right size and a few smaller ones and I was gutted...at EC they got 17 eggs which was unbelievable so don't be too disheartened, things can change.

@want2bemum I hope it goes well for you 🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾 I was in a similar position last cycle with no Frosties, and another person was...they are now 20 weeks pregnant so keep the faith and remain positive...sending you lots of sticky baby dust for tomorrow

Welcome @ChocolateinBrugges This thread is so friendly and people on here are at all different stages, some on their first cycle and some have had several. Just ask away if you have any questions. Hope you are doing OK on the stims.

@Shaj123 That sounds promising that it is at early blastocyst stages, and also that you hopefully have three to freeze. Everything crossed for you!

Thank you @Coops0406 I have been Googling today for success stories for people doing ICSI with very low fertilisation rates. It definitely helps to hear of people who have been successful with it and there are quite a few. We are trying to prepare for it not to work but also to keep the hope... it's a difficult balance!

On another (lighthearted) update, my DH has now personified "our little embryo" and given it a gender and everything. Apparently it is female because all foetuses are female and then become male later down the line if they're boys.

He hasn't named it yet thank God! Don't want to be getting attached at this stage!

@reefy @want2bemum I'm sorry you didn't get as many fertilised eggs as hoped. It's all such a rollercoaster and so disappointing when things turn from moment to moment. As you know though, it is quality over quantity and I've certainly seen lots of stories of lone eggs making it all the way, so keeping fingers crossed for you both and for your little embryo!

@ reefy I'm not sure exactly when my EC will be- I have progress scans booked in tomorrow and Monday, Wednesday, Friday next week and they'll keep an eye on things and let me know.

@PositiveeVibes Did my second injection tonight and a bit also leaked out but I figured it was a tiny amount - we should both be okay! Got my first scan first thing tomorrow morning!

Did my "official" test today and still BFN. No more pessaries for me now thankfully so I'm hoping the bloating and discomfort goes. Just wondering when the bleeding will stop as it's longer and heavier than most periods I've had, with no signs of stopping! 🤦🏾‍♀️

@Coops0406 freaked out a little as needle wasn’t on syringe properly and some leaked out! But as it’s first one trying not to panic and worry!
So sorry to hear that!☹️ When my first one failed I had a lot of heavy bleeding and when I spoke to clinic they said it’s normal and can last a while Unfortunately ☹️

Feeling pretty nervous to say the least. I'm just hoping I don't get a call this morning to say the embryo hasn't made it. It all feels so precarious as it was the only one to fertilise.

Hope all's going well to those starting injections.
@PositiveeVibes That happened to me a couple of times as well and I don't think it's anything to worry about, as long as most of it has gone into you.

@Coops0406 I hope your bleeding clears up soon :( x

I think most of it did you just worry don’t you, but it might just mean I have to do another day to make up for it!

Hi everyone,

I just got the call that the other 4 embryos didn't make it to Blastocyst stage so none can be frozen.

It's just upsetting and I had feeling yesterday when she said none had become Blastocyst yet. She said one was 3DD. She said out of all embryos there is a 35% chance of them become blastocyst and the fact that only one was able to be transferred fits the statistic.

Just have a feeling this transfer won't stick and can't help but feel negative.

@Shaj123 So sorry to hear that :( There are just so many ups and downs with all of this, aren't there? And it is hard not to feel negative when you get bad news. Just remember you are doing everything right, and really now none of it is in your control. I have everything crossed for you xxx

Is there anything you can do today, that might help you to relax?

Thank you @ChocolateinBrugges and @PositiveeVibes I had a call earlier saying we have a good quality embryo still going strong so the transfer will go ahead. Still soo anxious though. I'm going to be a wreck these next two weeks.

@ChocolateinBruges sorry to hear about the low follicle number :( It is such a cliche but remember it does only take one. Everything crossed for you that they all grow lovely mature eggs! xx

Not really, I have a 3 year old at home so will be busy with her when I get home from work!
I just have a feeling this transfer won't work as it was in the early stages of Blastocyst, they gave it a Grade 1 but it probably wouldn't have reached Blastocyst in culture which probably mean it won't implant anyway.

@want2bemum I'm glad the embryo is still going strong. Good luck!

@Shaj123 sorry to hear this - my last cycle only one made it to early blast on day 5 and the other 3 did reach blast on day 6 which weren't good enough to freeze so i feel your pain

What's your AMH ? Does it add up?

I only collected 7 eggs on Tuesday but my AMH was 5.6 so this is a good result for me

@Shaj123 sorry to hear that! That happened to me first cycle with none to freeze and I was so upset as you are relying on the transfer! It’s hard to stay positive but I wish you all the best and hope it’s a little fighter!

@strawberrysummer19 My AMH is 13pmol/L so I was expecting more follicles. And although we are unexplained, DH’s last two sperm results came back with ‘refer to urologist’ due to highly abnormal forms. He had a DNA fragmentation test and it came back in the borderline ‘infertile’ category...I was hoping this was our only issue but maybe my eggs are also a problem. I think ‘unexplained’ in our case means we both have sub-fertility...if one of us had increased fertility it might make up for the other’s as eggs can ‘fix’ damaged sperm DNA but I’m worried we just won’t be able to compensate for each other’s issues. Anyway, at least we aren’t aimlessly trying like we have been for the last three years anymore...even if this doesn’t work we are trying something finally!!! 🙂
