IVF egg collection, how many eggs did you get ! ?

I have just been to my egg collection and I got 17 eggs , I am not sure if that’s a good number or bad . Just wondering how many eggs other people had collected ? Thank you and how many did you end up with on day 5

@Vparisi heyyy ! I just got a phone call and out of 17 eggs , 13 fertilised 10 eggs were injected individually with icsi , and 6 of 10 fertilised and 7 were left with sperm in dish to fertilise and all 7 fertilised

And I am not sure as I was high risk of OHHS but as of today I will be doing fresh transfer hopefully on Saturday day 5 , already taking progesterone to thicken the lining just in case I am okay to do transfer this week , depending how the embryos grow as well , and It all depends of how I feel and if I develop OHHS in the next couple of days so I have to watch and see , could go either way but right now I feel okay so hopefully it won’t get worse and I can do fresh transfer

@Vparisi can I ask why you’re doing FET ? Did you get OHHS ?

1st cycle: 19 eggs and 1 made it to early blastocyst

2nd cycle: 16 eggs and 4 day 5 embryos. (1 transferred and 3 frozen)

First cycle : 5 eggs - 1 blastocyst - BFN
Second cycle : 11 eggs - 2 blastocyst - early miscarriage (hopefully planning FET for November).

27 eggs, 22 fertilised, 10 blasts frozen (mild OHSS so no fresh transfer)

@yokey hi! I'm really suffering with pain after my egg collection on Monday, what symptoms did you have that classed as mild ohss? I want to make sure I'm not severe as very very uncomfortable and swollen right now! Thank you

I woke up from egg collection in agony. They said that's OHSS and with 27 eggs, it's not surprising, and that was that.

You should speak to your clinic to see if they think your discomfort is normal. They said they could see my ovaries were swollen and hadn't settled down yet a few weeks later on a scan, so maybe a scan would help??

Cycle 1: 4 follicles, 3 mature eggs collected. 2 fertilised, both went to day 5 and I had a hatching blasto of OK quality transferred back. Lost the other on day 6 as was not good enough to freeze.
Got pregnant but sadly miscarried at 10.5 wks.

Currently in the middle of cycle 2...

Hi all, I am 40 years old, I just had my egg collection today by 1pm, I am home now, and we had 14 eggs. I feel so bloated and and my stomach hurts. I have taken paracetamol and the pain is still there hoping this is normal and not OHSS. Worried about my age and egg quality waiting for tomorrow hoping it's good news

First round: 8 collected, 6 fertilized, 1 day 5 blast average to poor quality, that turned into chemical.

Second round: 7 collected, 5 fertilized, 1 day 3 embryo and 1 day 5 blast, both top quality. They are frozen and waiting to be transferred if lining is ok.
On my last round I was at risk of OHSS so they didn't trigger with hcg. I drank water, isotonic drinks and protein shakes and I only ate eggs and lean meat. I constantly monitored my weight and on day 3 I requested an ultrasound just to make sure I didn't have any fluid in (I had such bad cramps that I had to throw up).

A little background: I am 38, unexplained infertility (though lining issues are suspected) TTC for almost 3 years.

I had 17 eggs collected, 16 mature, 11 fertilised with icsi and 9 made it to day 5.
Had one fet so far which failed. Just started a new fet so I have 8 left in the freezer atm.

I love reading all of your stories and it gives me hope !! thank you ! I had a call and my 13 embryos fertilised , 11 of them are great quality and 2 are poor quality , but all of them have stated to divide into 2-4 cells already good news for me fingers crossed they will keep growing !

@Keyu wow 14 eggs that’s great for your age !! Can I ask how did you get on today , did you get a call from clinic to see how many fertilised ? How are you feeling today after yesterday’s egg collection ?

@ShareLove thanks. Was in so much pain last night, felt really full and stomach was so bloated, has paracetamol before going to bed woke up feeling better but a little bloated and less pain. The clinic called this morning to say 12 eggs were matured and 7 have fertilized.worried about day 3 and how many we will have left.

@keyu hopefully you’ll feel better over the next week days fingers crossed it’s strange taht everyone’s experience is different as I had 17 eggs collected and I didn’t feel any pain at all after egg collection and haven’t taken any painkillers and I have no pain. I am very surprised myself and I had 24 follicles I was expecting OHSS .
But 7 fertilised is still good , remember you only need one and it’s quality over quantity . Maybe your one embryo is super quality ?
Hopefully they will keep growing and not lose many more in the next few days!
I am on day 3 and I have 11 good quality embies still going , going for fresh transfer cycle in 2 days

I only got 3 eggs. Out of that, I had embryo and that turned into my son!
