Hi everyone.

I couldn't find a thread for ivf cycles July/August 2021 so I hope it's OK to start one. I was on the March/April thread for my fresh cycle and it was so nice to have support from others going through the same thing.

My fresh cycle was successful but unfortunately I miscarried at 8 weeks pregnant. We are start a frozen cycle with one of our 2 frozen embryos. Aiming to start tablets around the 10th July with the hope of transfer towards the end of July.

Would love to know if anyone else is in the same boat or has any tips!

@lauradxoxo ughhhh that doesn't sound nice at all, sorry about that! Good to hear you're feeling a better though... Yeah, the wait is really hard! I go between speaking to our embaby one minute to being absolutely adore it didn't work the next and my partner thinks I've lost it Grin so far I'm hoping better than last time round, so either way that's a win for me... I've also had some cramps and belly pain, and I feel like I'm going to get my period any day, but so far no spotting which is when I knew I was out last time, so keeping everything crossed! And for you as well :) xx

beachbum85 · 14/09/2021 08:40

*absolutely sure haha

lauradxoxo · 14/09/2021 08:48

Sound like the exact same as me! It really is an emotional rollercoaster! I’ve heard the cramping and abdominal pain can be a side effect of the progesterone. I guess the only way to know is to POAS I jusy didn’t realise how hard I would find the wait! So hard to keep your mind occupied ! Not long now…I’m praying for your BFP for you too :) @beachbum85

beachbum85 · 14/09/2021 09:40

Only 3 days to go for you @lauradxoxo! My OTD is Sunday!!
I'm toying with the idea of testing on Friday BUT I am actually quite terrified of POAS and getting another negative, so I might even prefer waiting haha
Sending you lots of strength and patience in the meantime and keep us posted xx

chocolate336 · 14/09/2021 19:12

Hi ladies! So I'm still reading 'it starts with the egg'. Out of interest can I ask what supplements everyone and their partners have been taking? I'm only taking folic acid and pregnacare at the mo! Would pregnacare be the best one? 🤔 thanks x

Janefx40 · 14/09/2021 20:26

Hi @chocolate336 I took Pregnacare last time and I'm sure it's fine. This time I have been taking Naturelo Prenatal. Not sure if it's better - in fact I've recently been worrying that these fancy brands may not be doing anything at all!!! I've stopped most of the following now I've finished cycling but I was taking:

Health Thru Nutrition Ubiquinol 600mg /day
N-acetyl cysteine 600mg
High strength cod liver oil
Alpha Lipoic Acid 300mg
Vitamin E 250iu
Vitamin D
DHEA 75 mg (but don't take that without a dr)!

Xxx

Janefx40 · 14/09/2021 20:32

@beachbum85 @lauradxoxo hope you're both staying slightly sane! It's so hard going through the 2WW xxx

beachbum85 · 14/09/2021 23:16

Not tooooo bad @Janefx40 thanks, but definitely counting down the days and trying to remember that no symptoms, or lack of them, can tell us anything before the test XX

@chocolate336 I take Impryl, Vitamin D, Iron (because my Ferratin was low), Omega 3 oils, and probiotics.
Impryl days specifically not to take it with Vitamin E, Ubiquibol/COQ10 or other antioxidants, otherwise I'd have taken those too. Despite this, my clinic keeps insisting that folic acid and Vitamin D are enough!

chocolate336 · 14/09/2021 23:53

@Janefx40 @beachbum85 thanks for the reply ladies. I'm now reading the vit D in my multi vitamin isn't enough. What vit D strength are you both taking? I'm looking what is best to take prior to my third FET.....seems like a mine field the more research you do lol x

SerendipitySunshine · 15/09/2021 07:39

I took DHEA and CoQ10, plus pregnacare.

Janefx40 · 15/09/2021 08:10

@chocolate336 I'm glad you asked about vitamin D because I've been meaning to check the right strength for days and keep forgetting!!!

I'm taking 2000iu but it should be 5000iu of D3 so am going to up it.

I just follow what it says in It Starts with the Egg.

SerendipitySunshine · 15/09/2021 08:39

Forgot to say, I also always take vitamin d and c so I carried those on.

Janefx40 · 15/09/2021 12:26

Just had this horrible 3D scan. It was really quite painful and now I'm all crampy. I wasn't expecting it to hurt. I just wish DP would take an interest because I feel quite upset and would love a hand hold. I get a lot from my relationship but have to make my peace with not getting that support.

Hope everyone else is ok

X

SerendipitySunshine · 15/09/2021 13:08

Sorry to hear that @Janefx40 - can you take it easy for the rest of the day?

Reefy · 15/09/2021 16:16

Hi ladies, hope everyone is well. I had my follow up review last week from our failed cycle & I asked about vitamins to take & was told folic acid then the doctor recommended these as they are meant to help with embryo quality if anyone is like us & has to try again so I'm just waiting on them to arrive. Not cheap but I say worth a go! I hope I've added the picture right & they are from fertility smart.

ughhh @Janefx40 that doesn't sound nice at all - I'm sorry you had to do that today. What's the 3D scan for? I wish you had a real-life hand hold but for now I'm sending a virtual one instead... I hope you feel better very soon! xx

@Reefy good to know and thanks for sharing!
How was your review? Do you have a plan to try again? xx

Reefy · 15/09/2021 17:16

@beachbum85 yes all good, Just waiting on my nurse consultation on 28th to get my dates booked in hopefully then we go again! 🤞

Janefx40 · 15/09/2021 17:52

Thanks @beachbum85 @SerendipitySunshine . It was horrid but I'm feeling ok again now. It was to check that I didn't have any blockages in the womb or scarring from the miscarriage surgery. I was cramping for about 30 mins but then felt ok. Had a nice chat to DP too which felt better.

@Reefy not heard of those supplements but sounds interesting. Best of luck with the consultation xxx

chocolate336 · 15/09/2021 18:24

Thanks for all the replies and sharing! Lots of things for me to look into....us IVF ladies should be rattling with what we take lol! Awww sorry to hear that @Janefx40....hopefully the cramps settle ASAP xo

Bobtat · 15/09/2021 19:03

How is everyone doing tonight? Where are you all in your treatments at the moment? I'm just lurking around waiting for my day 1 to start the progesterone with a view to a lining scan 2-3 weeks thereafter....there is so much waiting in this game!! Is anyone cycling right now?

lauradxoxo · 16/09/2021 10:54

Sorry to hear about the awful sounding scan @Janefx40 bet your glad it’s over!

@gensola sorry to hear about your BFN. Try stay strong tho your not out yet!! But unfortunately that’s me out ladies. My OTD is tommorow but AF came in full force this morning and I tested abs obviously did confirm BFN. We are absolutely gutted 😢 Even though it was our first cycle and new the odds we were just so hopeful. I just knew it hadn’t worked over the last few days tho as i felt absolutely nothing then got cramps like AF was on the way which of course she was.

Need to just try and stay postive and hope our time has still to come. For anyone that’s had successful transfers is there any hints/tips on what yous did differently after transfer?

I know it’s not my fault but I just can’t stop over thinking every little thing like…was it what I eat, how I slept, the fact I didn’t have bed rest, did I use the pessaries right etc.

Just want to give myself the best chance next time! You learn so much on your first Cycke don’t you!

@beachbum85 how you holding up? Praying for a BFP for you!! Xxxx

chocolate336 · 16/09/2021 11:00

@lauradxoxo I'm so sorry to hear that! It's a brutal process!! Have you any frozen embryos? I have thought like that after each go and my consultant has told me it's nothing me or my husband have done...it's really all down to the embryo.

lauradxoxo · 16/09/2021 11:17

Thanks @chocolate336 yeah it really is so hard isn’t it! I’m looking forward to the consultation to see what their thoughts up but yeah I’m sure they will tell me the same thing …all about the embryo! Just hard to take you really do start to believe your pregnant and it feels so cruel when it all gets taken away 🥲

I do have frozen embryos so hoping to find out what next steps are and how quickly I can transfer one of those!

How are you getting on? Xxx

chocolate336 · 16/09/2021 11:32

It so so hard! And no one understands unless they have been through it themselves! Take a few days for self care and you will get your positivity back ready to go again....I know it doesn't feel like it right now! That's great you have frozen embryos! See what your clinic have to say and go from there! My clinic have said I can start my next FET nov/dec...but we are currently moving house so I might delay it until I'm a little less stressed. I had posted this on the fertility circle... not sure if it helps anyone but it made me feel a little better in that it really does depend on the embryo.....it's a major factor in the process.

Ohhh @lauradxoxo I'm so, so sorry :( it's really hard, no matter how hard you try to prepare and really shitty when you just don't know and then your period starts... Sending you a huge hug and lots of love xx
As @chocolate336 said, it's nothing you did or didn't do, but take the time you need to process everything and then hopefully you can get to your frosties soon, and hopefully next time will be your time xx

I'm well, thanks for asking. Still just waiting for OTD on Sunday and getting very impatient, but no changes in symptoms or anything otherwise, for now
