Hi all, update on the thyroid question. Clinic has reminded me that they suggested I get my thyroid checked in my initial consultation letter which was summer last year so I must have just forgotten about that. They didn't ask for the results of anything though or confirmation that it had been checked. They said assumption is if thyroid wasn't within normal range when checked gp would have started treatment.
They have quoted the 'tablet 2019' trial and confirmed treatment (eg with thyroxine) was not shown to provide any benefit when antibodies were present as long as TSH was within normal range which they have advised is less than 4.
So basically if your within normal range then there is nothing else to do, even if you have antibodies.
If you're not with normal range then go should start you on appropriate medication.
I also mentioned that my research had suggested a steroid at transfer might be helpful but they have said they don't recommend that as not shown to be effective and has its own side effects for the woman and possible impact on the foetus as well.
That does give me a bit of comfort as there doesn't appear to be anything else I can or should be doing so at least I'm not missing anything that could help.
I've got a call with GP on Monday and going to ask if they are willing to do a full thyroid panel again just to get an up to date picture before my FET and if they won't give me it I may just pay to get it done privately.
