Struggling to get pregnant after late miscarriage.

Hi,
Just after some advice please.
I had a late miscarriage early last year and we began trying again in May. We’ve had no luck at all and have been to the GP for the initial tests. They showed I appear to be ovulating and DH has a high sperm count but low morphology. We got pregnant very quickly last time and as I’m approaching 40, I’m starting to panic it will never happen for us.

We’ve been referred to the infertility unit at the local hospital but there’s quite a wait. I’m wondering whether we should just bite the bullet and pay privately. I’m trying to use the time effectively by losing some weight because I know that will be the first issue they mention if I don’t.

How common is it to not get pregnant again? What if that was our one shot and we’re going to be left with a huge gaping hole in our hearts.

Thanks in advance.

Have you checked the fertility treatment criteria for your area? Many have a cut off of age 36 now or age 40 but you have to have started treatment at age 39?

To be honest I'd be exploring private options. I do know plenty of people who had late miscarriages abs then conceived but it does take longer the older you are

Thanks for replying @ivfbeenbusy.

We wouldn’t be eligible for IVF as I already have a child but wondered if it was worth Pershing more tests via the NHS route.
