Anyone had a 'normal' tested embryo after lots of 'abnormal' cycles?

Hi Everyone,

Asking for some help, as I just received the news that all 4 of my embryos have tested as abnormal. I've previously tested 3 others, and they also came back abnormal. Does anyone have any experience where they had a couple of cycles of 'abnormally' tested embryos, and then went on to find a 'normal' one? I'm 39 on Friday, so I know the rate of abnormal embryos is higher, but it would be good to hear any success stories, as I'm not feeling very hopeful x

I tested one cycle all abnormal/mosaic and decided not to test again. I'm currently pregnant with twins from 2 eggs which became 2 blastocysts on my next egg collection

I'm very sceptical of PGS now

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply @ivfgot2
That's really interesting, and I can see a lot of stuff questioning the testing... I've had 2 early miscarriages from 2 previous transfers of non-tested embryos. So that's why we went with testing (plus my age).
Congratulations on your twin success, that's so exciting... and thank you again for sharing your experience x

@Ivfstory

I had multiple miscarriages too (5) and so decided to PGS test to see if it would give us any answers as everything else came back fine. I suppose it did because we didn't get any normals but then it doesn't explain why a couple of months later we can have 2 blastocysts from 2 eggs and both stick x

@ivfgot2 I'm so sorry for your losses, but very it's great that you got there in the end, after all of that. It does make me question the testing... thanks again for sharing your experiences, it's really helpful x

From what my doctor explained and from forums I’m on you can have cycles where all eggs are abnormal and then the next one can be different and you get some normal . Each cycle can be different. That’s because although say 80% of your eggs might be abnormal - in any one if your cycles some of the 20% might be retrieved .

Thank you so much @Sunshinelove8 for your reply, that's really kind of you to take the time to help reassure me! We had our follow up consultation with our Dr yesterday, and he didn't seem worried at all. He said just that, that he has seen people have all abnormal one cycle, then go on to find a normal one the next. So it sounds like what you've mentioned is very true! I'm feeling a lot more hopeful about it. I hope you're doing ok, and I'm wishing you well wherever you are with it all! x

Hi @Ivfstory I was looking for a thread on abnormal embryos as had two rounds with all embryos coming back abnormal after pgt testing. I am 40yo, turning 41 in July. Did you proceed with the treatment? Id be grateful for any advice as feeling like I lost hope.
