Have any of you tried acupuncture?

Thinking about trying acupuncture before starting IVF in Oct/Nov. Has anyone else tried it and if so did it help/hurt?

I did acupuncture for 6 months before and during my first ivf cycle. I didn’t enjoy it at all and my first cycle got no embryos so I haven’t gone back. However some people really enjoy it for relaxation so I would say try it and see what you think. If it’s not enjoyable I would think there’s no point. I regret suffering through it thinking it would help me get a better ivf outcome.

I’ve read the studies that show an impact show it’s pre and post transfer so I am thinking of going just for those two sessions just to throw the kitchen sink at it but haven’t decided yet.

I did it for 2 IVF cycles and 3 transfers. Made No difference to me - I got pregnant with twins on my 4th transfer when the clinics reopened with no acupuncture

I had it before my ivf treatment to try and bring back my natural cycles, which it did! Then everything closed, and it was still closed when I had egg collection. The lady has very recently opened again so I've been going to help with my lining for my upcoming FET. I'd recommend going on the Zita West website to find a local acupuncturist who specialises in fertility

I had it and didn't like it but kept going anyway in case it would help. I don't think it did and won't bother in future.
That said if you enjoy it or get something out of it it can't hurt (apart from financially!).

Iv had it 7 times so far my cycles are usually 90-110 days last cycle I went for acupuncture AF showed up the nxt day at cd26!!! So it's doing something hope this helps

I did for my first FET which was successful. I only did it 2 months before the transfer. Also had Chinese herbs and nightly meditation, positive affirmations etc.

I didn't for my second transfer and was successful.

The merits are unproven for fertility but I think but it helps with relaxation and mental health so worthwhile doing. Ivf is such an emotional experience that whatever you need to do to help you get through it, I say go with it .

I love it and currently using it to complement my first cycle. If it just helps me feel more chilled out then that will be worth it for me, although the is research that suggests it increases success rates. I've had a few acupuncturists over the years and like everything there are some good and some not so good. If you can get one that specialises in fertility that's best.
