Anyone else having transfer this week??

After a few set backs, I have finally been given a transfer date (Thursday). And was wondering if anyone else is about to enter the tww. This is my first FET after my fresh failed. Last month my cycle got cancelled and the same nearly happen again. Now I’ve got a date I’m so excited and would love to chat to others going through the same.Xx

@K670 how did your transfer go?

Cisco2 · 06/08/2020 09:42

Hi everyone I have my FET scheduled for Monday so looks like I’ll be joining some of you on the 2ww.

How is everyone feeling? Feeling a little anxious but trying to remain positive!

Good luck @Needtotalkivf19 for your transfer today!

Ro198 · 06/08/2020 13:38

Hi @Cisco2. I’m pretty bored of this whole process now to be honest and just want it to be over.

Have you had any transfers before?

Cisco2 · 06/08/2020 13:50

@Ro198 I totally get it, the whole process is so long it’s draining!

This is my 4th transfer so I guess that makes me a pro?! Hmm

Ro198 · 06/08/2020 14:22

@Cisco2It feels like it lasts forever because of all the steps to go through to get there. I’m doing a fresh cycle and it seems like there is a new hurdle every few days.

Fingers crossed this is a lucky one for you!!

FingersCrossedForAllOfUs · 06/08/2020 16:28

Hi everyone,

Can I join you all please?!

Myself and DH had our second round of IVF this week (Tuesday 4th Aug). I am 40 and this time it was a FET, so I have found the process has been a bit more straight forward than it was last time so far anyway! I’m taking Progenova tablets 3 x daily and using Utrogestan pessaries 3 x daily. I have to do my first pregnancy test on 15th Aug and another one 2 days later. I am very nervous because last time I started bleeding quite heavily 2 days before the first test and sadly had an early miscarriage.
We are trying to stay positive but there is the constant worry about it happening again.
I have just started going to weekly reflexology again to try and help manage my stress levels.

Wishing you all so much luck and sending positive energy to you all! x

K670 · 06/08/2020 18:16

@Ro198 Everything went okay, thanks. Just a waiting game now. Seems so long! It feels a bit anti-climactic today after yesterday! I'm just hoping and praying now! 🤞 How are you getting on?

Hi @Cisco2! I'm sorry to hear this is your 4th transfer. I guess you will be used to the whole process but I can't imagine it gets any easier. How are you feeling about Monday? Hope you're doing okay!

Hi @FingersCrossedForAllOfUs Hope you are feeling okay after your transfer. I had my first transfer (a fet) yesterday so I am not far behind you. My test date is a bit later though! I'm on tablets and pessaries too - starting to feel really rubbish on them!

I'm so sorry that you miscarried last time, that's awful. This whole experience is so unfair. I hope you're managing to distract yourself a bit during the wait. Keeping everything crossed for you! 🤞

@Needtotalkivf19 I hope everything went well today and you are doing okay!

FingersCrossedForAllOfUs · 06/08/2020 18:39

@K670 - Thank you for your good wishes. I’m glad everything went okay with your FET. Sorry to hear you are not feeling too good on the meds.
I can’t remember feeling quite like this last time, I had a bit of ovary discomfort but I’ve felt quite bruised and battered around the ovary area for the past few days. It all feels puffy and swollen. I don’t know if it’s a combination of the FET & the meds.
I don’t feel like doing much other than looking at MN and watching rubbish TV!
I’m keeping everything crossed for you too x
Good luck to everyone who is going through this at the moment. x

Needtotalkivf19 · 06/08/2020 21:56

Thankyou everyone for sending your luck, today went well and I had transfer this afternoon. My test date is the 17th and I’m just hoping it doesn’t drag to long. Has anyone decided if they are testing early?? Xx

@Needtotalkivf19 Glad to hear yesterday went well. Hope you are feeling okay about it all. Did you have one or two put back? My test date seems so late - it's the 20th! I really want to wait but it seems so much later than other people's! Have you decided what you are going to do? x

Ro198 · 07/08/2020 11:37

@Needtotalkivf19 my test date is also 17th but I’ve decided I’m going to test on 15th at home

FingersCrossedForAllOfUs · 07/08/2020 12:01

Hi @Needtotalkivf19 - I'm glad to hear you got on well yesterday. How are you feeling today?
I had mine on Tuesday and for the last 3 days I've had a sort of bruising and uncomfortable type feeling around my ovaries. I'm not sure if this is mainly as a result of the meds. Last time the nurse said you can feel like this because it's all a bit swollen around there.

I'm not going to test earlier than they said. I was told to test on both 15th and 17th, I'm not sure why, to make sure I suppose. But the waiting is the worst!

Does anyone know why all our test dates seem to be at different lengths of time? Does it depend on the clinic?
There is so much I don't understand, I still feel clueless even though it's our 2nd attempt!

Ro198 · 07/08/2020 16:09

@FingersCrossedForAllOfUs I think it just depends on the policy of the clinic. I’m using a sister clinic of the place that did my transfer and they said I only had to wait 11 days from transfer instead of 14 as they had a different policy to each other

LizTay80 · 07/08/2020 17:05

Hello ladies

I hope you don’t mind me joining in Smile

Hope you’re all doing ok and staying sane in this 2WW.
I had our first transfer (fresh) on Wednesday, day 5 blastocyst. Coping ok so far, trying to keep my mind occupied. I’m still so incredibly bloated from the egg collection. The clinic advised I keep my fluids up as my ovaries are still apparently pretty active. I’m concerned this will impede the embryo but hopefully not.

We had 14 eggs collected which I was incredibly optimistic about, during ICSI 6 didn’t survive the injection as were too sensitive and only 4 fertilised. I went into this incredibly naive and completely hung up on numbers. From our 4, they became 1. Felt devastated we lost so many and keep questioning why?!
A lot of hope on this little bean 🤞🏽🤞🏽

What dates are you all testing?

K670 · 09/08/2020 19:59

Welcome @LizTay80! How are you doing? Are you feeling okay after egg collection?

I also had a transfer on Wednesday but mine was a fet, though it was my first transfer.

I'm so sorry to hear about your numbers. It's so hard as there are such big drops. I was really upset after egg collection as I just wasn't prepared for such big drops but unfortunately I think it's pretty normal. It only takes one though so fingers crossed for you! 🤞 I am going to try and hold out for my otd but it feels like forever away. Are you testing early? Hope you're feeling okay 🙂

LizTay80 · 09/08/2020 22:06

@K670

I’m doing ok thank you. Different each day I guess, I had a massive wobble the other day and had a cry feeling very hopeless. But then on the flip side, on odd occasions I completely forget this teeny embryo is there.

I felt extremely bloated and uncomfortable following E.C,it’s finally going down but now I’m panicking that’s a bad thing as they said it would get worse if I got pregnant. 😬

How are you doing? Is your test date also on the 16th?
Sending lots of good luck and baby dust to you. Kudos to you if manage to hold out til test day. I want to test early but I’m a bit afraid to.

Hope everyone else is doing ok xxx

K670 · 10/08/2020 00:14

@LizTay80 I know what you mean! I have been very up and down, feeling positive one minute and then convinced it's failed the next. It's such a draining experience.

It's good you are starting to feel better. It took me a wee while to recover from egg collection too. It's a lot for our bodies to go through. Everybody seems to have very different symptoms during the 2ww. Lots of people have no symptoms, some have cramping, some have bleeding. Hopefully our bodies are doing exactly what they should be! 🤞🤞🤞

My test date isn't until the 20th! It seems so far away and so late! Do you think you will manage to hold out? xx

LizTay80 · 10/08/2020 09:39

@K670
Yeah it’s one big emotional rollercoaster. I feel more normal today, sounds odd, but the most normal I’ve felt in ages without all the meds & discomfort. It had me up at 2 am last night convinced it’s failed as I thought I’d feel more.

It’s hard not to symptom spot. I know people that have had symptoms & had both a BFN/ and a positive and equally with no symptoms have a positive too so I’m trying not to get too hung up on it.
I’ve constantly got sore breasts but think that’s the delightful progesterone pessaries.

Aw I know it feels like such a lifetime. Mental torture for us..!! I want to test early as we go away this Friday ( test is Sunday) And be nice to know if I can celebrate or drown my sorrows in copious amounts of wine. My partner is adamant we have to wait.
Do you think you’ll hold out?

X

Ro198 · 10/08/2020 10:16

How is everyone doing today? I’m thinking of testing tomorrow as I’ll be 5dp5dt. Is anyone else caving in this early? I think I’d rather know before the clinic call me next Monday so was thinking of testing daily! I might still wait though, I really don’t know what to do!

LizTay80 · 10/08/2020 11:01

Hi @Ro198
I’m equally wanting to test early but I also feel massively afraid to. My partner wants us to wait til Sunday. He’ll totally know from my mood whether I’ve tested or not.... 😬

The suspense is worse for me than any other part of this journey.

What pregnancy tests have you got? I read first response are better at showing early results but didn’t know if this was correct.

Hope you’re ok. Try and keep busy as much as possible if you don’t want to test.
Keep us in the loop if you do 😊

Ro198 · 10/08/2020 11:14

@LizTay80 I have the first response ones ready and waiting. My partner also thinks I should wait so that I’m not having to do it over the entire week. I’m not sure it would feel any worse than the unknown situation I’m in now anyway! I feel like it’s failed so I’m at the point where I just want to know so I can move on

LizTay80 · 10/08/2020 11:34

@Ro198
I can completely understand, you’ve just got to do what’s right for you. If you feel it’ll help put your mind at rest, test everyday, do what you have to.
You never know, you may very well get your positive. I have everything crossed for you.

Did you have a fresh or frozen cycle?

X

Ro198 · 10/08/2020 12:44

@LizTay80 I had a fresh cycle. I had 13 eggs but only 1 viable embryo at 5 days so I don’t feel very positive anymore. I know I need to change my mindset over this but it’s really difficult and I feel like the only thing I ever hear from the clinic is another thing potentially going wrong to wait over, like I might have ohss (I was completely fine)

LizTay80 · 10/08/2020 12:50

@Ro198
We have a very very similar cycle. I had 14 eggs collected in which I was hugely optimistic about, I thought we’d get some good embryos and a few to freeze but only left with one by day 5.
I’m sorry to hear about your clinic too. Would you consider changing for another cycle?

Big big luck to our one and only day 5’s! Hopefully they’ve been extra sticky and stays snug in there 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

Ro198 · 10/08/2020 12:59

@LizTay80 I was really positive too, we had 8 grade 1 embryos at day 3 and I had the day 5 update when I was strapped in the chair for the embryo transfer so it wasn’t really nice timing to hear bad news. He also said the wrong thing at first which would have been really positive so I was so disheartened.

Yeah I would change clinic for sure. I had the nurse asking me about an abortion I never had, same nurse not realising I was on my second consultation and repeating the first instead of going through the medication, a different nurse phoning me about an issue I apparently had which was to do with my hand hurting from medication (that was a mix up in patients), potentially cancelling my cycle over a giant cyst growing which was actually fine, and the fear of ohss as they would freeze all if I got over 15 eggs, which again I heard nothing about ever again, they didn’t ask me if I had any symptoms or anything before doing the transfer. The whole thing feels so disorganised and I’m always having to remind them of things, but I don’t know if this is common for all clinics.
