OTD Xmas Day

FingersXssd83 · 02/12/2019 20:09

Looks like my 4th IVF OTD is going to be on Christmas Day. This is my third cycle embryos 5&6), having started treatment in Oct 2018.

Thought I'd be testing the week before so I had time to process the result and get on with making the most of the holidays but my endometrium was 7mm today and then want it to increase more.

Anyone fancy joining me the build up/count down to the 'big day'?

@HK2509 Thank you for your message. So sorry to hear you had a really emotional day yesterday...are you feeling any better today? I feel ok so far, I'm on a 14hour shift today so I think it's that I've not had any time to dwell on it!

@Violet180 I'm in a similar position in terms of numbers. I had 15 eggs collected, 10 were mature, but only 5 fertilised. I was so disappointed on day 1, I wasn't sure if any would survive (it's my first IVF/ICSI cycle) but thankfully, of those 5, 4 made it to d5 so I had one transferred and 3 frozen. I really hope you get good news on their progress tomorrow!

Violet180 · 15/12/2019 14:13

@GiseleAnnderson I got a call today to say 3 are good quality but 2 have either stopped progressing or may just need more time.
No more updates until Wednesday before the transfer.

All my cycles have ended up with 3-4 blastocysts so pretty much the usual.

HK2509 · 15/12/2019 16:37

@FingersXssd83 I’ve offered my services to a friend who is due in January to be her Christmas helper so that should help pass the time between work 😀

@GiseleAnnderson had a better day today, think yesterday was a wobble and hey who knows could be more to come over the next few days but I’ll deal with that if it comes.

FingersXssd83 · 17/12/2019 07:16

Sounds good @HK2509 I need a busy itinerary from now on as I'm starting to depend on Google, and get a bit stressy. Convinced already this one hasn't worked :/

Well I am probably being extremely ridiculous but tested this morning 5dp5dt. Only with an internet cheapie. I am convinced I can see the squintiest of lines (having never ever had a BFP). Too early to get excited but given how little hope we had of this being successful, maybe we can be a little more hopeful.

HK2509 · 17/12/2019 10:26

@FingersXssd83 yes Google is hot right now for me too. I have decided to clear my search history the night before test date in case it is bad news I don't want all my crazy searches to be staring back at me. I have finally decided 100% I will not test early, I don't think I could cope with having to see a negative on 2 separate days so 3 days to get through and what I assume will be a sleepless night on Thursday.

@Anaesthetist83 I hope that squintiest of lines turns into the brightest BFP for you.

I am driving myself mad having no symptoms but then I have to remind myself most natural pregnancies don't tend to have symptoms this early. I like to think my slightly rounded belly (as my husband pointed out last night) is a good sign and not just the progesterone or Christmas chocolates. It would be the only time in his life he could get away with telling me I am looking a bit round and me not being pissed off with him :-)

GiseleAnnderson · 17/12/2019 16:03

@Anaesthetist83 I really hope the line gets stronger every day. I've never had even the faintest line so it must be a lovely feeling to have hope for this cycle

@Violet180 Good luck for tomorrow.

Well I got home and the FRERs I had ordered to use later in the week were glaring at me..... so at 5dp5dt FET, no trigger, this is my first ever positive. Delighted but petrified. Planning on trying to keep it a secret until Xmas day (OTD) and wrap a stronger BFP up for husband. It’s going to be a looooonnng week

OTD Xmas Day
Maggie272 · 17/12/2019 16:10

@Anaesthetist83 Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is wonderful! I got my BFP on Saturday, 5dp5dt xxx

Anaesthetist83 · 17/12/2019 16:18

@Maggie272 thank you! You too!!!

I can’t quite believe it and don’t think I will be able to “accept” it for a while but it suddenly makes my disastrous week spent on critical care all seem worth it!

@GiseleAnnderson and others - o hope you get the same very soon xxx

GiseleAnnderson · 17/12/2019 16:42

@Anaesthetist83 @Maggie272

amazing!!

FingersXssd83 · 18/12/2019 09:28

Big congratulations @Anaesthetist83 @Maggie272 Did you have any symptoms?

Sent myself crazy with anxiety last night thinking it hasn't worked again. Couldn't sleep, feel exhausted today. We're going on a day trip to hopefully keep my mind busy and stop comparing my journey to others but it's hard xx

@FingersXssd83 hi love yes it's good to try to take your mind off it. The last time I tested every day, but this time every 4 days or so, just to make sure.

I have cramps, very much like period cramps and dizziness. That's it. For the to chemical pregnancies I had the dizziness but no cramps. All of that could just be the progesterone, and remember we are all on different doses of medications. I feel funny after paracetemol! When is you otd?

Anaesthetist83 · 18/12/2019 11:15

I had cramps from transfer but wasn’t sure whether this was all due to the big dose of progesterone. Felt a bit sick yesterday but thought I was probably just imagining it .... but that is why I tested 🤞

Maggie272 · 18/12/2019 20:05

Hi loves
just wonder - does anyone know if progesterone injections hold off your period. I was on cyclogest last cycle and my period still came.

I have a BFP, no spotting, and because I've had two chemical pregnancies I thought this was a good sign that there's been no show yet x

Violet180 · 18/12/2019 22:22

Ok so I transferred one embryo but am feeling not very positive about it all. I had 3 early blastocysts. They are leaving the other 2 till day 6 to see if they can freeze them. Im just disappointed they are only early blastocyst.

The transfer doctor has no beside manner and was cold and didn't understand when I asked if I could film the transfer. The embryo got stuck in the tube (probably because she didn't scan the procedure as they did last time) so they had to suck it up again and try again.

Just not feeling very positive. Still ate my mcdonald's fries.

HK2509 · 19/12/2019 06:12

@Violet180 I’m sorry you didn’t have a good time with transfer, mine wasn’t great but I was lucky to have really lovely nurses with me. Glad you got to enjoy your fries.

You have just entered the 2ww and I hope the festive period brings you some distraction. My wait ends tomorrow, can’t believe I’ve managed to hold off testing. I only had 2 early blastocysts so they transferred both, there are still many success stories with this situation so fingers crossed we both get the positive outcome we desperately want. Sending love and best wishes xx

Violet180 · 19/12/2019 09:12

@HK2509 thanks. Best of luck for your test day tomorrow. 💐
I'm sure plenty people have success with early blastocyst. Just thinking I might have been silly not to have transferred 2 . They actually offered to transfer 3.

HK2509 · 19/12/2019 09:35

@Violet180 Thank you. Hopefully you have some better news on the other blastocysts for something in the future, for now have faith in your little underdog. I have everything crossed for both of us xx

Maggie272 · 19/12/2019 12:35

I can't believe I am still testing positive...no spotting, just dizzy and crampy. It's day ten post transfer, and the previous two pregnancies had ended by now...trying not to stress too much

@Violet180 best of luck
@HK2509 good luck to you xxx

GiseleAnnderson · 20/12/2019 10:45

@HK2509

Really hope you get good news today xx

cake1987 · 20/12/2019 12:34

Hi everyone, hope it's ok if I join. My otd is Boxing Day but I'm desperate to test, I'm currently 8dp FET. How long do your clinics recommend, mine's 14 days which is seriously dragging!
Congrats @Maggie272 and @Anaesthetist83 !!!

Anaesthetist83 · 20/12/2019 12:53

I tested at 5dp5dt and it was very definitely positive so I think you could test.... worst case scenario is it is negative but too early

Violet180 · 20/12/2019 12:55

Hey everyone....just a reminder...does everyone have enough meds to last through clinic closure during Christmas if they get a BFP?
I just realised I didn't so they are sortng out a delivery for me now. At least if you have a prescription you would be covered.....

cake1987 · 20/12/2019 15:46

Thanks @Anaesthetist83 yeah I'm so so tempted, but my partner keeps telling me not to as he says even if I do get a positive at this stage it could disappear by otd which would make for a pretty devastating xmas... would it be bad if I did one in secret ?!
