Hi all,

I can't see a thread for Dec/ Jan yet - maybe because a lot of clinics shut over the holidays - but mine doesn't! Anyone else out there starting in December and want to support each other? This will be my first round so I'm pretty nervous! X

Hi again ladies - just catching up with all the news, and sounds really good! I have got a bit lost with all the IVF threads to be honest, haha.

We have had a letter through for our information evening and consultant meeting in early January, so feeling positive about that Smile. We have no idea how long it will take to get going from then, though the NHS has already surpassed our expectations! x

BaileyBadger4 · 04/12/2019 23:32

Hi guys, thought I'd pop on to see how everyone is getting on Smile

We had our protocol arrive through the post today! 🙌 I'm on long protocol. I've been told to keep taking the contraceptive pill up until the 23rd then I'm to start taking Buserilin injections (down reg) on Xmas Eve!!

After that il be taking Menopur (stims) with my provisional first scan booked for 7th Jan to see how things are looking.

Injection training is next Thursday and I have to go by myself as DP can't get the time off work 🙄

So scared and excited all at the same time! 😁😬🙏❤️

Hopefully84 · 05/12/2019 12:21

@BaileyBadger4 exciting news. 👍 wishing you lots of luck.
Phone call this morning and all 6 are going strong one is slightly behind the rest but still good quality.
Am booked in for Saturday morning transfer. If there is a clear front runner they will do one. If they are all average they said they'll pop 2 back in.
Hows everyone else doing?

41trying · 05/12/2019 13:58

Hi all,

I've been for scan and mock transfer today. All good, Start buserlin Sunday.
I hope everyone is getting on ok

BambiOnIce80 · 06/12/2019 22:48

Good luck for tomorrow @Hopefully84! 🍀🍀🍀

Nmvasey · 07/12/2019 06:59

Good luck @Hopefully84 let us know how you get on

Lily999 · 07/12/2019 07:06

Good luck @Hopefully84 for today! Good to see progress, we received our blood results back yesterday. We were told 3weeks, but we were there last Monday, so pretty impressed. All results are ok, my AMH is 15, within the normal range.
Not sure what that means yet, but I guess we'll find out soon :) Apparently now we have to wait for the meds and information pack to come, hopefully before Xmas.

Hopefully84 · 07/12/2019 10:56

Morning everyone.
All done. They transferred one good quality one back in this morning.
They think they have one to freeze and 2 other possible candidates. They will let me know tomorrow.
Now it's just a waiting game. 😬

Nmvasey · 07/12/2019 12:58

That’s great news! Hopefully you’ve plenty to keep you occupied over the next couple of weeks

BambiOnIce80 · 07/12/2019 13:48

That's excellent news @Hopefully84 😃 I hope you've got something nice and relaxing planned for the rest of your weekend/TWW?

AF finally rocked up for me on Thursday evening, so sadly couldn't get an appointment for Friday 😏 We're booked in for Tuesday morning to go through everything and get my prescription, so DP and I are throwing caution to the wind and enjoying a slightly boozie last weekend before we get this show on the road! 🍾🥂😉

Hopefully84 · 07/12/2019 16:55

Trying to just carry on as normal. Luckily the kids keep me busy enough and I'll hit the Christmas shopping hard. My poor credit card.

Sounds like an excellent plan @BambiOnIce80. Have a lovely weekend.

huffleclaw · 08/12/2019 21:18

Wow @Hopefully84 how exciting!!! I have everything crossed for you!

Hope you have enjoyed your final boozy weekend @BambiOnIce80 !

Good luck for Tuesday!!

huffleclaw · 08/12/2019 21:20

Good luck @41trying! Hope the first dose went ok today!

So exciting to hear everyone's stories of things starting.

Good luck!

41trying · 08/12/2019 21:44

@huffleclaw, it was ok thank you. Tiny needle so all good. I have been feeling AF arriving over the weekend. Nothing yet and not supposed to for a week. Not sure if starting buserlin will delay it or not. Really need it not to be early really so fit in everything for over xmas.

BambiOnIce80 · 09/12/2019 15:37

I did indeed enjoy my last boozie weekend for a while, thank you @huffleclaw! 😄 Monday comes around far too quickly though 😏 I hope you had a good weekend too?

Congratulations on getting the first jab out of the way @41trying 💉 💐 I hope everything stays on course with AF 🤞

So, the week commencing the 9th is upon us! 🤩 I bet you're looking forward to getting those jabs out of the box @Nmvasey?! And how are you doing @duckhouse? Ready to start? Is anyone else due to start this week? Our appointment is tomorrow and I've already got this weird sense of foreboding that they'll say "sorry Bambi, but because of X, Y and Z you can't actually start this week, so it'll be a few more days/weeks/months of waiting before you can start" 😰 Doesn't tie in at all with what we've talked about on the phone, but no one said my stress-head had to be rational, did they?! 🤯

huffleclaw · 09/12/2019 23:09

Stress is never rational @BambiOnIce80!! Good luck for tomorrow. I'll be thinking about you!

Glad you had a good weekend! Mine was a bit shit...got burgled Friday and they took my husbands wedding ring. and some other sentimental jewellery.

Glad it was ok @41trying! Fingers crossed your period behaves itself! I don't know much about buserlin...we are doing short protocol so just start at the start of my period.

Nmvasey · 09/12/2019 23:16

@BambiOnIce80 I started this morning. It didn’t hurt but I felt a bit nervous... few more and I’m sure I’ll get used to it. Has anyone felt sickly? I don’t know if it was the meds or a delayed hangover still from sat 🙈. There’s no reason why they shouldn’t let you start so fingers crossed!

@huffleclaw ah what a nightmare! That’s really shit, especially at this time of year - hope you’re insured 😬 not that it replaces the sentimental stuff

huffleclaw · 10/12/2019 07:27

Thanks @Nmvasey, we are insured so that will cover monetary value. But, as you say some things are irreplaceable!

VERY exciting that you have started now! Well done for managing to do them. I am very nervous about the injection side of it...so loving all the stories of people saying it wasn't too bad!! Hopefully any side effects are short lived for you and you won't spend too long feeling sick!

Hopefully84 · 10/12/2019 08:27

Morning.
Hope everyone is doing well?
@huffleclaw so sorry to hear that!! So awful.
Congratulations to everyone starting their injections sounds like lots of you are underway. 🙌

granddesigns · 10/12/2019 12:06

Hi all
Just thought I would check how everyone is getting on and pave the way to hopefully join you on another thread (hopefully the next one, but we are playing the great NHS waiting game now!)
Having been back to GP for referral for ICSI and advised we would start in jan, GP had to refer us to exceptions committee. We crossed fingers and went on holiday hoping we would have a decision by now to start in jan rather than wait till August for 2
Year mark as have our MFI diagnosis. Apparently CCG replied requesting more info but now won't meet until end of December.... so we are sitting tight, waiting for that decision and accepting that best case scenario we will start in Feb, more likely March because of dates, and worst case August - still not that far off, but super frustrating having got outcome
And tests completed. Either that or self fund first cycle and forego NHS cycle if successful..... feel like that last little bit of control we had has gone now and at hands of room full of people sat round a table making £ decisions! Sorry to grumble! Oh and, don't seem to get notifications on here and try to block it all out at times so sorry if I come and go! Good to know there is a community here walking the same journey to jump on board when we get our green light!

BambiOnIce80 · 10/12/2019 18:35

That's terrible @huffleclaw! What utter, utter b🤬stards 😡 As if being just about to start IVF wasn't stressful enough!

I'm glad the jab didn't hurt @Nmvasey and I'm sure you'll be a pro in no time 💉 👍

That's really frustrating @granddesigns - sorry to hear about all the bureaucracy at your end 💐

Turns out my sense of foreboding for today was entirely irrational (thankfully!) and our appointment went smoothly 😪 AFC was 14, practice transfer was no big thing and I've taken my first pill 💊 Got to take those little suckers until the 26th and then the bureselin injections kick off on the 27th - first scan on the 2nd of Jan... Here goes nothing! 🤞🤞🤞

Nmvasey · 10/12/2019 18:39

Great news @bambionice80! What pills are you taking? Just curious as I went straight on the bureselin. I’ve felt sick for quite a bit of today again, anyone else have nausea as a side effect? Some sites say it can go when your body gets used to it

41trying · 10/12/2019 18:51

@Nmvasey. I'm in day 3 of buserlin and I have felt a little like that today, not really feeling hungry.
I have read some people actually lost some weight when on it.

Nmvasey · 10/12/2019 18:54

@41trying I feel hungover, sickly and a fuzzy head. My stomach felt like it was hot last night, it was weird. I feel sick unless I eat 🤣 this isn’t going to bode well for me!

41trying · 10/12/2019 18:58

@Nmvasey. When I feel sticky it puts me off anything to do with food just about manage water. Could do with losing a few lbs ha ha. I can cope with a few things just not the feeling of being sick, I hate it.
Hopefully for us it will calm down over next few days
