Hi all,

I can't see a thread for Dec/ Jan yet - maybe because a lot of clinics shut over the holidays - but mine doesn't! Anyone else out there starting in December and want to support each other? This will be my first round so I'm pretty nervous! X

Ha ha all this talk of being good & not drinking brings back memories of the night we did my EC a few years ago (yes ours are stored from then) and we messed up the trigger shot not realising there were 2 pots to mix & injections to do I think it was & so we both ended up in tears with ciders & a bottle of wine consoling ourselves that we’d trashed it....until the emergency nurse phoned us back & tried to reassure us it should be ok & it was, they went on to mature & work!! So def don’t beat yourself up but listen to instructions!! Grin

Hi all! Joining this thread as I'll be having an FET in mid-January. We had a failed fresh and a failed frozen this year, so hoping for third time lucky. Just waiting for AF to make an appearance so I can make an appt and start taking estrogen again. We have two Frosties, and we've decided to put them both in; as one is not good quality (4CC)

MissHoney85 · 28/12/2019 18:40

I'm stressing out a bit. I'm on day 12 of Buserelin. I had my bleed start a week ago today and finish on Wednesday, and I've randomly started bleeding again today :-( it's not exactly just spotting either, it's like a whole other period. I'm so confused and worried. I keep searching for other people who have had this and can't find anything. I did a course of Buserelin in November and had to suspend the cycle because I didn't get my bleed in time for the Christmas shutdown. So from no bleed on Buserelin to 2! My body clearly hates me :-( guess I just have to wait for my scan on Monday to find out what's going on...

Nmvasey · 28/12/2019 19:11

@misshoney85 my nurse said I could have multiple bleeds. I think 2 bleeds would be a good thing, surely your lining must be really thin🤞🏻

41trying · 28/12/2019 19:12

@MissHoney85. I am on day 22 of buserlin today and had AF on day 12. I had my scan on day 17 and lining was still too thick. Today I have had some light bleeding more than spotting. The nurse did say this could happen. I have another scan Monday so hoping to start stims.

MissHoney85 · 28/12/2019 19:16

Thanks for the reassurance ladies ☺️ it's just so frustrating not knowing what your body is doing and feeling like it's working against you. Fingers crossed for the scan on Monday, I actually can't wait to start stims!

Nmvasey · 28/12/2019 19:17

@41trying I have my scan on Tuesday, I’d say my period was heavier than usual but not sure what that will means in terms of thickness. I didn’t realise it needed to be a certain thickness when they put the embryo back in! So many ifs and buts!

41trying · 28/12/2019 22:04

@Nmvasey AF was a lot heavier than normal for me. Lining has to be 4 or under to start stims and then over 8 for EC, weird how it all works.
So what I can make out is.
Ovarys all quiet and lining below 4, then they stim until folicols are right size and lining is thick again, then EC.
This is the first time for long protocol for me but I remember from short lining had to be over 8 and at least one folicol 18-20 for EC .
So I'm thinking ovaries quite and lining thin for long so they can get as many folicols to size same time for EC.
I will ask more Monday and I hate not knowing everything.

rainbow178 · 28/12/2019 22:36

@MissHoney85 I think 2 bleeds should be a good sign of a thin lining? Don't worry too much!
@BambiOnIce80 so how long will you be on buserelin for? I have a scan on the 13th so will have been on it for about 17days I think

Minster2012 · 29/12/2019 09:59

Hi ladies! Hi @HJF84 you are just ahead of us, we are hoping to be on course for FET end of Jan. I seem to be the odd one out not having buselin but this weird implant hormone instead which sits in my tummy giving me the hormones instead. It brought on AF over Xmas & mine was heavier too but then again I had my first ever period in 15 years in nov so not much to compare it to! I’ve got my scan on 3rd Jan we’ve had a FET put back before as the lining wasn’t right

BambiOnIce80 · 29/12/2019 10:57

@rainbow178 , I was on the pill for 17 days (to fit around the 2 week Christmas down) and then will be on buserelin for a minimum of 7 days until the first scan on Thursday. AF turned up yesterday, so I guess we'll find out on Thursday if she's done her job and my lining is thin enough to begin stims 🤞🏻 If it isn't, I think it's up to another week of buserelin. How did your injection go this morning?

@BaileyBadger4 , my AF isn't as heavy as normal yet but I'm wondering if it's something to do with going on the pill when the last AF arrived 🤔 Did you start the pill at that stage of your cycle too? I'm thinking that our linings may not be as thick as normal because of that, so that might be why AF isn't quite as heavy? I guess we'll both find out on our first scans soon enough! Remind me when yours is? Hope your not feeling as down now.x

rainbow178 · 29/12/2019 11:04

@BambiOnIce80 that makes sense I suppose, the less injections the better! Hope the scan goes ok, mine is in 2 weeks- dreading the bleed though, my periods are bad anyway, hope this one isn't much worse! It was ok, I still couldn't do it first time though, the needle presses against my skin but just won't go in! 2nd time lucky today though so hopefully tomorrow, straight in first time!

Kellyprt1 · 29/12/2019 13:55

Hi can I join I'm down regulating at the min. Had to extend the DR for a week due to not bleeding when expected but I have now. Should be starting stims as off Tuesday DR scan on tuesday. My Amh is low 5.2. 11 Afc. So nervous I want respond to drugs. Anyone in similar situation?

Kellyprt1 · 29/12/2019 13:57

*won't so may typos sorry. Just saw someone say they are bleeding longer than normal.. Me too. I am on day 7 of bleeding heavy.

HJF84 · 29/12/2019 17:11

@minster2013 Snap! I'm also not onburselen I start taking estrogen on day 2 of my cycle. With a scan on day 8. The difference with this cycle is they are putting me on steroids and progesterone injections, which are a higher strength than the suppositories.

Really hoping for third time lucky. Christmas has been a hard time. If our first IVF had worked, we would be telling people now. And I've had two baby bombs in the last few days.

BaileyBadger4 · 29/12/2019 20:27

@BambiOnIce80 yes it's the same for me hun. I started taking the pill on day 1 of Nov AF (I think was 27th Nov)
Stopped taking the pill on 23rd Dec and started down reg injections on the morning of the 24th. AF arrived this month on the 27th but has been very light and has only lasted 2 days 🤷‍♀️ like you said, maybe being on the pill for last cycle has had an influence? 🤔 I've been wanting to google if having a light AF is good or bad whilst down regging but have strictly promised myself (and my OH) to give google etc a rest for the min as it tends to get a little out of hand 😂🙈 Am trying desperately to adopt more of a what will be will approach tbh 🙏 Easier said than done lol xx

BaileyBadger4 · 29/12/2019 20:30

@BambiOnIce80 oh and my first scan is on 7th Jan 😬🤞 and that's to check lining is thin enough I believe? (from what I can gather from reading this thread) 😁

rainbow178 · 29/12/2019 21:44

@BaileyBadger4 I am at a very similar stage to you- down ref drugs now and scan on the 13th. They check to see if your lining is thin and then start building it up again and stimulating your ovaries....thAts when the joy of 2 injections a day start! (For me anyway!)

Minster2012 · 29/12/2019 22:32

@HJF84 fingers crossed it’s third time lucky for you, gotta hate the baby bombs!

My Lining scan is also similar time on 3rd Jan so everything crossed for then, I haven’t looked at the info again I’ve just hidden it what with ppl coming round so can’t remember if I take the suppositories then or that’s just after FET, I know progesterone then but can’t remember how it’s done. I might get the info out tomorrow & look again

Are most ppl doing the IVF in secret?

rainbow178 · 29/12/2019 23:41

@Minster2012 yes pretty much, we have only told our parents and my manager. I did tell one friend 2 years ago and since then, she has only asked how I am once so that was a waste of time! Have you told anyone? Good luck for your scan! 🤞

BambiOnIce80 · 30/12/2019 07:51

Welcome @Kellyprt1 and good luck with your scan on Tuesday 🍀 AF is here at the moment for me and my first DR scan is on Thursday, so I'll know soon if I'm going to start stims or whether I'm going to need longer on DR 🔮 You've got yourself a pretty good AFC there, so try not too worry too much about the AMH (at least that's what my doc said!).

I think you're very wise to step away from Google @BaileyBadger4! 😄 There's so many different protocols out there that you could really wind yourself up for no reason at all! I'll ask about it on Thursday when I'm at my scan and report back to you 😘

@Minster2012 @rainbow178 we're mostly keeping it to ourselves too. My boss knows (had to really because of all the appointments, but he's been great about it) and my 3 closest friends know... purely because I couldn't be doing with the raised eyebrows and sideways glances when I wasn't drinking before Christmas! 🍸🚫😱😉 They've also all been great 😊 Not telling our families though unless there's a BFP. I want at least a couple of people to give me a surprised-happy reaction if it works! 😂

MissHoney85 · 30/12/2019 10:49

Had my baseline scan today, they didn't seem too worried about the bonus bleed and all looked good so starting the stims tomorrow 🎉🎉 I don't go back to work until the 7th so I'm quite pleased to have the next week to focus on eating, sleeping and drinking well and hopefully growing lots of lovely eggs

Nmvasey · 30/12/2019 11:42

Great news @MissHoney85! Not long now

Lily999 · 30/12/2019 11:54

Morning Ladies!
Great news @MissHoney85, did they tell you how thick your lining was?
@41trying how did your scan go this morning? When I read what you wrote I looked back my scan from a few months ago that was done on day 5 of my cycle and my lining was 6mm, that is too thick then, no?
I will have to call them when AF arrives and go in for a scan on day 3, but if it has to be under 4mm then I will be screwed as mine was 6mm on day 5... I read after period is done it is supposed to be 1mm, but mine was 6, that doesn't sound right.
Well, after the weekend I had I must say it is deffo not an easy process. I find it very difficult as sometimes I feel everything is against us. For example this weekend I was ovulating and it would have been perfect timing as the house was empty (in between having family over for Christmas and just before our friends arrive tomorrow), but my husband caught a virus and he has got high fevers since Thursday, can't even sit up, not to make a baby... So I was very upset and tried not to blame him, but I was really sad and angry at the Universe.
We are starting stimm injections in 2 weeks time when I get my period, this was our last chance of getting pregnant naturally, but now it's over and I don't even have the chance..
Anyhow, must look forward and not backwards!

41trying · 30/12/2019 12:09

@Lily999 I've been and lining was 3.6 and ovaries quite so I start stims tomorrow. Continue with buseeilin up until EC.i have next scans in 6th, 8th and 10th provisional EC 13th.

As for lining I think extra days in buseeilin will help that.
