Hi all,

I have never written a post on here but thought it may be nice to get a thread going for anyone about to start ICSI/IVF. I am 28 and have been ttc for almost a year and have recently found out my husband has a very low sperm count (2 million) and ICSI is our only option. I was sure for so long something must be wrong with me so to find out it was him was a complete shock and I think we are both still adjusting. Fortunately we are able to go private and have my appointment to get the ball rolling on Wednesday. I have had a (all clear) and all of the bloods already so hoping we can get cracking next month so I am eager to get started. Everything is apparently fine with me apart from very mild pcos which I have been told shouldn’t effect my chances! I am still very anxious about the whole situation and just praying that the process will be successful.

If anyone has any tips or is in the same boat feel free to join!

@NS05 that's good news about your hcg levels! Thanks for the advice! Sure once I've got the first one out of the way I will be fine. I'm to use 2 a day too.
@lucylucyt yeah my doc said I could use either way but wasn't sure which would be best, so thanks for that think I will try it same way as you! Hope the nausea isn't too bad!

LucyLucyT · 27/11/2019 19:58

@NS05 great news about your HCG! Onwards and upwards hopefully.

@Naughtyboob, another suggestion is writing in the top on the box like I have show to keep track of what you've done.

@Naughtyboob ive found using them vaginally totally fine. At night i pop one in just before i go to bed just like a tampon and then in the morning i get up make a cuppa then pop one in just before i go back to bed to drink my tea. I feel like being horizonal for a bit maybe stops a bit of mess 🤣🙈

Naughtyboob · 27/11/2019 20:47

@potatojam I am awful at getting up in a morning, I leave just enough time to get ready and leave so don't think that would work in a morning Lol! Night time might be ok though.
@lucylucyt I'm doing that with my progynova tablets lol 3 ticks a day!!

siananigans · 27/11/2019 20:48

I had to do three a day, I wish I had done what you've done @LucyLucyT and written in the box! I kept losing track of if I'd done the middle of the day one.
Deffo make sure you have panty liners, they make a right mess of your knickers and it's sort of waxy and doesn't wash off very easily. TMI, sorry!

PotatoJam · 27/11/2019 20:57

@Naughtyboob haha! That used to be too!! How are you feeling about tuesday?

Naughtyboob · 27/11/2019 21:21

@potatojam I'm excited and nervous. Not really worried about the transfer but scared of how I will feel if it doesn't work...i don't Want to be too excited then let myself in for a bigger fall but I don't want to be negative about it so trying to just be chilled...which doesn't work either coz I'm a giddy mess at the minute lol. But you will all know what I mean!
@siananigans I'd read a bout needing pantyliners so had already bought a pack!! God what us women have to go through!!

NS05 · 28/11/2019 07:03

@Naughtyboob I've only done it through the back door and honestly have had no problems or mess!

@NS05 just did my first one, back doored it, probably the least sexy thing I've ever done but wasn't too bad, was easier than I expected Confused

NS05 · 28/11/2019 07:08

@Naughtyboob ye I just find it easier and you really get the hang of it after a while!

@NS05 I hope so, I was walking round the house trying to find other things to do while I was building myself up to it Lol!

PotatoJam · 28/11/2019 15:15

@NS05 have you had any more symptoms yet? I have had really sore boobs for a few days and stomach cramps (but i have had them since EC), and peeing all the time! Got my scan booked this morning for 2 weeks tomorrow. I feel like i'm back on another 2WW to find out if everything looks ok! xxx

NS05 · 28/11/2019 15:19

No nothing @PotatoJam apart from headaches! Still have the thrush and had some more pink spotting today- I'm so scared I broke down crying just now in the toilets at work- just praying everything will be ok! X

PotatoJam · 28/11/2019 16:12

@NS05 oh no! Dont worry!! Ive had light bleeding for over a week and the clinic have assured me its nothing to worry about when its light. Its a stressful time not knowing if things are ok or not isnt it! Sending virtual hugs! Xxx

NS05 · 28/11/2019 16:19

Really omg @PotatoJam that makes me feel so much better- do you still have it? I think you are two dats ahead of me and I have had it for the last three days- it's all so stressful! X

OP posts:
PotatoJam · 28/11/2019 16:57

Its not as bad as it was @NS05 but still there, so thats been 9 days now.

NS05 · 28/11/2019 17:00

Yes mine is only a little amount once a day @PotatoJam hopefully will be ok!!

NS05 · 29/11/2019 10:34

@PotatoJam pink has turned brown this morning so not sure if that's good or bad but definitely worrying myself sick. Going for more bloods to see if my hcg is doubling- this is such a rollercoaster ride!

OP posts:
Naughtyboob · 29/11/2019 11:14

@NS05 fingers crossed it's all Ok, let us know. It could just be the embryo burrowing away and getting cozy xx

LucyLucyT · 29/11/2019 17:22

@NS05 Brown is usually a sign of old blood so hopefully nothing to worry about. Hope you are doing okay.

I've got my scan on Monday, sure I'm going to be a nervous wreck by then. Had my worst batch of nausea today, wonder if will progress to full blown vomiting. Got my midwife booking appointment through for next Thursday so that's good.

NS05 · 29/11/2019 18:50

Levels have over doubled and are over 2000 now- progesterone has dropped to 70 - they like it over 100 so one more injection a day for me! Could explain the spotting! Just gonna try and relax as at least baby is growing x

OP posts:
PotatoJam · 29/11/2019 21:11

@NS05 thats good news! Yeah brown spotting shouldnt be anything to worry about. Are you on injections and pessaries just now?

@LucyLucyT hope all goes well on monday! Have you had a lot of morning sickness? Any actual vomitting?

NS05 · 29/11/2019 22:19

Yes 2 injections and 2 pessaries a day! Lucky me! Also sorry if tmi but are any of you experience pressure in your vagina? It feels so heavy I know it could be because of increased blood flow but wanted to check ur anyone had this!

OP posts:
PotatoJam · 30/11/2019 07:24

@NS05 yes i have that! I feel it when im walking about! Its an odd feeling! Its sort if pressure from the front if that makes any sense?

Do you get monitored with blood tests for a while? I just had to pee on a stick 2 weeks after ET then nothing until my scan in 2 weeks. Dont think i get any blood hcg tests. Feeling a bit in the dark about how things are progressing, although the symptoms im experiencing make me assume things are progressing! The tiredness is the worse... cant keep myself awake after 8pm anymore ... and im on shifts 2-10pm next week 🙈🤣
