Hi all,

I have never written a post on here but thought it may be nice to get a thread going for anyone about to start ICSI/IVF. I am 28 and have been ttc for almost a year and have recently found out my husband has a very low sperm count (2 million) and ICSI is our only option. I was sure for so long something must be wrong with me so to find out it was him was a complete shock and I think we are both still adjusting. Fortunately we are able to go private and have my appointment to get the ball rolling on Wednesday. I have had a (all clear) and all of the bloods already so hoping we can get cracking next month so I am eager to get started. Everything is apparently fine with me apart from very mild pcos which I have been told shouldn’t effect my chances! I am still very anxious about the whole situation and just praying that the process will be successful.

If anyone has any tips or is in the same boat feel free to join!

@LucyLucyT yes, my arm was like a dead weight this morning!
I was just speaking to my friend on Friday about being a bit worried that my nausea had suddenly stopped, and she told me she didn't have any with her 2nd baby at all. Which reassured me a bit.

I've eaten so much junk this weekend which probably doesn't help! Need to get some healthy snacks in!

LucyLucyT · 25/11/2019 11:55

@siananigans think I spoke too soon, definitely feel slightly queezy this morning! We'll see I guess hehe.

@NS05 any news? Hope you are okay.

Thanks for checking in! Had my bloods this morning said they would call at 4-6pm! I feel like all my symptoms have gone so feeling quite negative- did you feel a lot at 10 days post transfer? Xx

@NS05 fingers crossed for good news! Let us know x

I had late onset OHSS so had those symptoms, not really anything else though. Been getting tiredness the last few weeks, that's my main symptom and as I said above maybe a bit of nausea today.

NS05 · 25/11/2019 18:22

Just got the call I'm PREGNANT!!!! Can't believe it I'm hysterical and don't feel it in the slightest but going to try and be positive!!!

NS05 · 25/11/2019 18:51

@NS05 ahh yay! So so happy for you. I think it's completely normal to not quite believe it, I'm still the same 3 weeks later hehe. Try and enjoy it though, over another hurdle!

Youngatheart00 · 25/11/2019 19:23

Congratulations, that’s wonderful news! ❤️

Naughtyboob · 26/11/2019 16:00

Had my scan this morning, they said everything looks perfect to go ahead with my transfer next Tuesday Grin

NS05 · 26/11/2019 16:31

Omg amazing @Naughtyboob ! Girls I'm really worried I had some pink spotting just now- no cramps but just a bit of spotting but I'm freaking out. I was told this morning I have thrush and am super sore so hoping it may just be some light bleeding from cervix. Uch just when I was starting to get excited 😢

@NS05 try not to worry! It could be a number of things!

LucyLucyT · 26/11/2019 17:29

@NS05 I think spotting in early pregnancy is quite common, try not to worry and like you say you already know if a fairly likely cause xx

@Naughtyboob so pleased you are set to go, how exciting!

NS05 · 26/11/2019 17:37

Thanks guys nurse says I'm very inflamed and it will be due to irritation with tissue. Just praying it goes as have just taken a pessary to get rid of it! Gosh I find the pregnancy more stressful then trying to get pregnant!

The pessaries are usually pretty good so fingers crossed you’ll be feeling much more comfortable soon!

Youngatheart00 · 26/11/2019 18:46

@Naughtyboob excellent news about your transfer Smile

PotatoJam · 26/11/2019 21:21

@Naughtyboob thats great news ☺

Naughtyboob · 27/11/2019 18:24

How's everyone doing today?
It's my first day of pessaries tomorrow...any tips? Is it as bad as I'm imagining?

NS05 · 27/11/2019 19:04

Good thanks thrush has cleared up and my hcg levels have doubled since Monday which is great news! No they are honestly fine- if you lie on your side and put your legs to your chest I find that the easiest way to do it! I'm on two a day plus an injection as my progesterone was a bit low! Good luck!

@Naughtyboob you can use them rectally or vaginally, some people think it might be better to use one way or the other but when I read into it, it's as effective either way, my clinic also confirmed this. Personally I use them as a suppository as they are quite messy when used vaginally, it's really personal choice and what you feel comfortable with!

LucyLucyT · 27/11/2019 19:08

Otherwise I'm okay but nausea is now kicking in, which in a way I'm pleased about!
