@CloudsSway happy you had a great hol by the sounds of it yh the opks do really help u know when afs comin. I have been thinking a lot about gettin another dog id feel too guilty just now as if i was replacing my gorgeous girl, but in a couple of months im goin to look into gettin another dog i really miss the walks in the park with her. It lifts your mood and ur right100% it gives me someone to fuss over and stay in a routine for. I miss her ALOT which doesnt help my mood tbh..
@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF its gd to have something to get excited for tho instead of just dtd and crossing your fingers i really hope you get your bfp hun after all this x

veeboo · 02/06/2019 17:02

Hi ladies. Hope youve all had lovely weekends. @CloudSway sorry AF arrived. If you keep using opks it might start to help but obviously dont if it's too stressful.

So the hen do was difficult. I'm not sure I'll even get through typing this up. There were 3 pregnant women and tonnes of children/baby chat. Bride to be desperate to start trying and believes wont take long. I hadn't told many people there so I just kept wandering away. Then one of my friends dropped the bomb that she is 4 weeks pregnant. One night stand. Not keeping it and very distressed about it all. Not going to go into it as it's her story but I had to support her and couldn't bring myself to confide in anyone. It was really hard.

2fingers22018 · 02/06/2019 17:19

@veeboo hugs hope ur alrite its situations like that that make you feel soo alone we all know how it feels on here so dont bottle it up. Its soo shit especially when uve been lookin forward to a nite out and ttc and pregnancy talk ruins it. Feels like theres no escaping it x

squirrelnutkins1 · 02/06/2019 17:56

@veeboo couldn't read and run. You poor poor thing. I'm so sorry you had to go thru that. Big hugs to you xxxxx

Thanks ladies. I am giving myself a day to be sorry for myself and tomorrow starting the new eating routine. Then when AF comes this week I'm going to order all the vitamins I've been reading about. I know some of you were interested so I am going to look at omega 3 and CoQ10, a multivitamin for my DP and maybe one for me.

Kelly199 · 02/06/2019 19:41

@2fingers22018 sorry about your appt. Some of them just seem so heartless and careless. Hope you're ok xx

@GreyC the only book I've read is "It Starts With The Egg". Some good things in there. We take Proceive vitamins and I take omega 3 and I've been taking NAC and Inositol too as I've heard that's supposed to be good for pcos. Been thinking about ubiquinol too, but it can become so expensive!! Maybe next month I'll add xx

@veeboo so so sorry about the hen, sounds awful! Must've been really hard for you, especially the one night stand that's going to have a termination! Makes me so angry that happens then there's people like us so desperate and going through so much. Sending you lots of hugs xxx

@squirrelnutkins1 @FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF
@CloudSway @VenusStarr hope you're all ok. Sorry if I've missed anyone xx

CloudSway · 02/06/2019 21:06

@veeboo oh no I'm so sorry, it's unfair you get stuck in these situations that you cant just leave, and you can't tell a whole load of people that they are being wildly insensitive. I'm pissed off on your behalf, at people and at life generally x
It must have been so difficult, maybe one day some of those girls will understand what you were going through and appreciate that you didn't scalp anyone... It was hard but you got through it so massive well done you xx

KH87 · 02/06/2019 22:27

Hi would it be ok to join this thread my husband and I are starting testing for infertility.

squirrelnutkins1 · 02/06/2019 22:29

I'm out this month so I've stuffed my face with choc and gin and tonic 💔😭💔😭

Of course! Welcome @KH87 tell us a bit about yourself and your situation xx

Kelly199 · 02/06/2019 22:32

@squirrelnutkins1 so sorry!! Sending lots of love and hugs ❤️❤️❤️

@KH87 you're more than welcome. As @squirrelnutkins1 said, tell us a little about your situation xx

KH87 · 02/06/2019 22:33

We have been ttc for 7 years put off going to the doctors and seeking help but have finally been and got some tests scheduled. I have had day 21 bloods taken Friday and day 2 bloods scheduled. My husband is giving his first sample end of June. We have an appointment 29th July at the fertility clinic. Feels so real and worrying now!
Can anyone share what happens at an appointment at the fertility clinic? Thank you.

veeboo · 02/06/2019 22:33

Thanks @Kelly199 and @CloudSway I did give myself a pat on the back for how calm and supportive I remained. I might take a few days off from here and focus on diet and exercise this week. AF due weds/thurs. Sorry she has turned up for you @squirrelnutkins1. Hope you're okay. Welcome @KH87 we are a friendly bunch with varied stories

squirrelnutkins1 · 02/06/2019 22:50

@veeboo you did amazing! Can't blame you for having a few days off. All the best for this month 🙏🏻

@KH87 sorry to hear your struggles. We are a lovely bunch if I don't say so myself 😂
First appointment is normally a LOT of questions about you and OH (both should attend) how often do you dtd, any traumatic history with OHs bit (!), family history etc etc. Then they'll make a plan. Maybe something like HSG/hycosy to see if your tubes are blocked or laparoscopy if signs of endometriosis etc.

Hope all of you have had a lovely weekend xxx

squirrelnutkins1 · 02/06/2019 22:52

Thanks girls. Ah well, at least I can have a few drinks on hol next week. I'm such a light weight but maybe it'll help me relax lol @Kelly199 @veeboo

Kelly199 · 02/06/2019 22:54

@veeboo whatever you need to do. We'll be here if you need support or need somewhere to vent. Take care of yourself. I'm going to try and do the same xx

@KH87 thank you for sharing your journey with us. Good that you have your appt scheduled. Hope it'll come around quickly for you (although it never does when you're waiting!!).
When I saw my gynaecologist/fertility specialist, she basically went through all the results I'd had done at the gp and what other tests I needed to make sure I had no blockages etc. Then talked about Clomid as the first step (which I'm currently taking). If Clomid doesn't work for me, then I go back to see her and will be discussing further about ivf xx

KH87 · 02/06/2019 22:56

@squirrelnutkins1 thank you for your reply and sorry to hear you are out this month. Hope you are ok.

So nervous about the appointment so worried something will be wrong with me and it be my fault. Does a plan of treatment get made at the first appointment or is there more appointments (didn’t think to ask the doctor)

Kelly199 · 02/06/2019 22:58

@KH87 yes, forgot the bit about the questions too! She did ask a lot of questions about me and my partner xx

@squirrelnutkins1 my weekend hasn't been bad thank you. More chilled than usual which was nice. Have you had a good weekend?
Hope you'll have a nice holiday next week. Yes, hopefully! Just enjoy yourself and try your best to relax. You really deserve a break xx

squirrelnutkins1 · 02/06/2019 22:59

@CloudSway sorry about af ☹️ glad you had a fab hol x

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF glad you're so excited 😊 keep us posted!

@KH87 our plan was made at first appointment 👍🏻
I know it's easier said than done but don't go down the blame route. It's no ones fault, it's just a crappy situation.

OP posts:
KH87 · 02/06/2019 23:00

@Kelly199 thank you for that information. Did you get clomid at your first appointment or after further testing?
I hope the appointment comes around quickly but like you say probably not since we are waiting for it.

Kelly199 · 02/06/2019 23:02

@KH87 I think it varies depending on your results and what the problem may be, but they'll probably discuss what it's likely going to be moving forward and then they'll probably arrange for other tests. They'll then wait for the results of those before going ahead with a plan. This was just in my experience, so I'm not sure if you'd be the same xx

KH87 · 02/06/2019 23:03

@squirrelnutkins1 that’s good to hear hopefully we will have a plan first appointment also.

I know I shouldn’t and you’re right it is just a crappy situation.

squirrelnutkins1 · 02/06/2019 23:04

@Kelly199 glad it was chilled for you 😊 pretty crappy tbh, OH has been really down all week and I'm struggling to keep chirpy for him. But chin up and we'll just try again 👍🏻

OP posts:
Kelly199 · 02/06/2019 23:08

@KH87 no problem at all. They wouldn't give me clomid until I had had my bloods done (the ones you have already had/are having), a few internal scans (mainly to confirm my pcos), and I had to have a HyCoSy to make sure that I didn't have any blockages. After I had that, she gave me the prescription. I'm on my third month of it now so have another 3 before I'd need to go back, but hopefully it won't come to that!
Yes, it's so horrible waiting, but at least you're moving forward now xx

@squirrelnutkins1 of course! It must be so hard for you both. You both deserve a break. What day are you going?
It is crap trying to be the strong one all the time.
Hope your hol will relax you both so you can have a nice break together and I'll keep my fingers crossed for better news next cycle for you 🤞🏼 ❤️ xx

KH87 · 02/06/2019 23:18

@Kelly199 hopefully you will get some good news before going back. Thank you for sharing your experience with me.

Kelly199 · 02/06/2019 23:20

@KH87 no problem at all. We're here whenever you need any support/advice. Good luck with the tests xx
