Does anyone know if a CD21 blood test has to be done on Day 21?

I know this sub-forum is about infertility, but my question isn't really about that, so I hope you don't mind me gatecrashing over here! I'm just hoping one of you ladies might be able to help as I know that a CD21 blood test is usually one of the tests you undergo when you are struggling to conceive.

I came off the pill last February and since then, I have been spotting from anything from 4 days to 8 days before my period starts.

My doctor wants to check my progesterone levels (among many other things), so I'm going for a CD21 blood test (which I know is a 7dpo blood test which isn't necessarily going to be CD21). I will be 7dpo on Sunday. I can't have a blood test on a Sunday and I can't on the Monday either because it's Bank Holiday and the hospital doesn't do routine blood tests on these days. So does anyone know if it's okay if I go when I'm 9dpo?

Thanks!

As far as I’m aware it’s okay - doctor was quite relaxed about it being a couple of days later and my results were all okay!

Great, thanks. I guess I'll just mention to the doctor when my results come in that it was done a couple of days late.

Hey

I did my 21 day blood test on Monday and got the results today at 60. (Still trying to figure out what this mean). I had a scan to check to see if my follicles had burst a little while back and this blood test was to see if I actually ovulated or not. They think I ovulated on the 11/12 and my blood test was the 20th so on CD24 for me :)

I have no idea about what the results mean, but I know that some doctors just tell you you need to go for this test on CD21, which is completely wrong. You need to go 7 days after you ovulate, which isn't going to be CD21 for a lot of people. I think that's the problem with a lot of things pregnancy/fertility related, they base everything on a standard 28 day cycle. I often have 28 day cycles, but that doesn't mean I always ovulate on the 14th day of my cycle.
