Only 5 follicles on day 8 of stims

Hi all,

I am 25 years old and currently on day 8 of stims on my first ivf cycle. My scan this morning showed I only have around 5 follicles on one ovary and none of the others. As they were hoping for at least 10, I am very upset by this news. Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience?

Yes, I only had 6 follicles the day before i started stimulating, 3 on each ovary. You probably have a low reserve like me. However don't worry, at least you have some for them to work with!

After stimulating they saw 8 follicles on my ovaries, collected 7 eggs, all 7 were mature and 6 fertilised. 4 made it to Blastocyst and i had 2 put back in, now I'm 9 weeks pregnant with one baby so don't worry and i wish you good luck 🍀

Hi, I only had 3. 2 made it only to day 3, 1 made it to day 5 - this one was transferred and I’m now 13 weeks pregnant. My doctor said it only takes 1 good one! Don’t give up hope and keep positive! Xxx

I ended up with 6 eggs retrieved and 2 made it to 8 cell. I have had one transferred today. I'm still quite uncomfortable from egg collection which dr saw today but he said shouldn't affect anything. Now for the 2 week wait! Feels like a long time already and it was only a few hours ago haha!

Hi i was in a similar position to you. Had 6 follicles, 6 eggs retrieved, 3 fertilised, 1 didnt make it, two embros put back in on day three. Currently on my last day of the 2ww

@sophieb13 welcome to the 2ww. Ive been having mild cramps, bit of spotting and extremely tired! I think the tiredness is from all the progesterone and staying up all night worrying about what is happening! Also im on the im progesterone and my bum is super sore! Are you taking any time off for the transfer?

@A280 I'm working from home this week. My ovaries are still quite enlarged from egg collection so still quite sore. The progesterone isn't a nice job at all is it! Do you test tomorrow?
