Hi ladies, just wondered if anyone wants to hold hands as we go through a cycle?

After a failed fresh cycle earlier this year, I’m starting my progynova today with a planned FET for May.

Would love some company x

@summerlovin, I’m so sorry to hear that, I hope you manage to find some time to recoup and give yourself some self love. Thank you so much for starting this thread, I honestly don’t know where I’d be if it wasn’t for having you all to confide in Xxx

Re - cyclogest. I do it rectally and have luckily never had any issues. I don’t put it far up at all, but I do sort of lift the end up once it’s in so it sits at a bit of an angle. There’s a little bit of residue next time I go to the toilet but nothing messy.

I hope everyone else is doing well today. Sorry not to message you all individually but it sounds like there have been lots of collections and transfers over the last few days.

AFM walking to and from work is one of my favourite parts of the day. I had to stop on the downreg and after EC as I was so sore so really pleased to be feeling more normal. I’m going to volunteer rather than run at parkrun tomorrow but am looking forward to a couple of weeks when I can get back on it! It’s my dream to be one of those buggy-pushing running mums!

Cobblestones · 11/05/2018 20:17

@Si1ver this morning they told me to use it rectally on day of transfer or if I can’t do that then to use it straight after. Better to play it safe and take it with you on the day rather than use it vaginally. I had used it many hours before on the morning of my IUI and the nurse struggled coz of it resulting in the speculum being longer inside me than necessary ouch! Good luck!

Cobblestones · 11/05/2018 20:21

Thanks @ciro will try the angle bit. It’s great you’ve been able to return back to your routine so quickly!

findingmyfeet12 · 11/05/2018 21:26

How many days post 5 day transfer do you think it's ok to take a test at home?

CiroDiMarzio · 11/05/2018 22:07

@findingmyfeet, I’m wondering the same thing! Tomorrow is 5 for me and I’m so tempted!

CiroDiMarzio · 11/05/2018 22:09

... 9 is the earliest I’ve heard of. My SIL was told two weeks from EC which is the same as 9dp5dt

findingmyfeet12 · 11/05/2018 22:13

Only 3 days post 5 day transfer for me tomorrow.

Im having a very tiny bit of cramping today like mild period pains. It's not really painful I'm just aware that it's there.

AniSL · 12/05/2018 07:03

Summer does it definitely mean your out? Sorry to hear that and rest for now. Maybe another shot at a different clinic?

Thanks @si1lver thank you, mine has been extended twice now, they said where they were growing very well before I got sick, they seem to have slowed, they also want to get my RBC back up. My endo was good at 10.3mm but now getting gloopy discharge. They have said that they are offering to freeze this month and do a transfer when I feel better. Though a cold may not affect transfer, a flu does.

@picklesandpetals how do you feel now?

Summerloving17 · 12/05/2018 07:45

Hi ladies thanks for your messages 💕, yes I’m 10days past 5 day transfer and definitely out. Stopped drugs a day early as mathematically if I don’t get a positive on first response today then there’s no way I would get one on hospital test which is less sensitive tomorrow. I think you can pretty much tell from day 7 if you use first response from first morning urine.

I’m going to move clinics with my last two Frosties. Having a 6month break to lose the weight I’ve gained and feel better about myself again, I’m only 34 so they told me my chances with 4 blastocysts were good. I’ve had one failed fresh and one failed frozen transfer now but still believe one of my Frosties is the one🤞

I will check in to hopefully see all of your BFPs and wish you all the best luck in the world xx

@summerloving17 I'm really sorry to hear it hasn't worked for you this time. I'm so glad to hear you have some Frosties waiting for you when you're ready for the next round. In most things in life, the more effort you put in and the harder you work at it the better you can do, so this process is very frustrating as you can do everything right and it still doesn't work and you don't know why.

How will you or have you gone about deciding which clinic to move to?

Summerloving17 · 12/05/2018 08:50

@happyhedgehog thankyou 😘 I am basing my choice on success rates, personal recommendations and not wanting to feel like I might be ripped off, my first choice at the moment is CRGH (like the fact they see nhs patients too) and I will book an initial consultation with the main consultant there to see what he suggests before making a decision. Xx

I'm sorry @Summerloving17 good luck with whatever you choose to do.

I'm officially PUPO now. One expanded blastocyst put back on day five. One is being frozen today and one is being sent for testing and will maybe be frozen tomorrow. I'll find out next week how many frozen embryos I've ended up with.

bangsaklove · 12/05/2018 11:58

@Summerloving17 So sorry to read your news chin up chick and wishing you lots of luck with the Frosties you are still lovely and young there is time xx

AniSL · 12/05/2018 15:26

@summerloving17 sorry to hear that, keep faith. Do you qualify for another attempt on NHS? Did you say previously you couldn't go abroad

picklesandpetals · 12/05/2018 15:53

@Summerloving17 sorry to hear that it hasn't worked for you this time. Fingers crossed for one of your frosties. Keep strong and positive.

@Si1ver Excellent news, keeping my fingers crossed for you 🤞

Got the call this morning. Out of nine eggs I've only got three fertalised, the odds feel stacked against me. Will have to wait til Monday morning now to find out further. Such an expensive process, this might be my only chance til next year now, trying to remain positive but it's hard

Cobblestones · 12/05/2018 17:33

@picklesandpetals Hang in there hun I know it feels like the odds are against you but even if 2 out of the 3 are top quality that’s a pretty good outcome. For now it’s out of our hands so hope you can try and take your mind off it. Get plenty of rest, watch some comedy films and eat something you like. Hope the bloating has reduced xx

picklesandpetals · 12/05/2018 18:26

@Cobblestones thanks for the words of reassurance. You're right it's out of our hands now. How're you doing? I'm still quite bloated, not sure what will relieve it x

picklesandpetals · 12/05/2018 18:28

Ladies that have had EC, what has been your experience with pain afterwards? I have lots of low down groin pain, getting in and out of the car is agony as is sitting on the loo. Am hoping this is just normal x

findingmyfeet12 · 12/05/2018 18:44

pickles I was in agony after my ec too. It was my third one and they've all been the same. I was in so much pain that I was dreading going back for the transfer.

I only had one blast from 10 eggs so I know how you're feeling. The early numbers are so cruel because you can't help but get your hopes up.

Fingers crossed that the ones that fertilised all grow nice and strong 🤞

picklesandpetals · 12/05/2018 19:01

@findingmyfeet12 thanks, reassuring to know. Literally feel like I've got a tear, like no strength or tolerance of movement in my groin. Feel slightly constipated too. Fed up with pessaries and I've only done one so far, feel a right grump today! Yep, numbers are totally disheartening. Not sure how many to transfer now, always thought two if had the option, not sure any more. Also got to face the conundrum of freezing any others if they're any good. Hopefully I'll bounce back to a brighter version of myself tomorrow!

Anyone else have pain from eating post EC?

findingmyfeet12 · 12/05/2018 19:10

I've suffered from constipation since the ec too. It's a nightmare. I'm trying to eat a healthy diet and drink plenty of water.

Today I've got pains in my groin like having a stitch.

No painful boobs though or anything that might resemble an implantation symptom Hmm

picklesandpetals · 12/05/2018 19:43

@findingmyfeet12 hopefully I'll have a movement tomorrow. If not I'll be seeking out some prune juice. My boobs have been painful pretty much soon after I started this process. How many days ago was your EC? I've been googling just about every symptom over this last couple of weeks. Hang in there x

findingmyfeet12 · 12/05/2018 19:47

My ec was 9 days ago.

I've had three (short) pregnancies and every time my earliest symptoms were a pulling pain in my belly button and nasal congestion.

I haven't had either of those so far.

CiroDiMarzio · 12/05/2018 20:07

@picklesandpetals - I was in a lot of pain and constipated too. I didn’t ‘go’ properly after the EC until the morning of my 5 day transfer, I was just too scared to push! But the progesterone is known for causing constipation too. Try to take it easy and take paracetamol or codine if the pain is still very bad. Hope you feel better soon.

I just had to run for a train and thought my boobs would explode they’re so sore! Really hoping that’s a good sign! I cracked this morning and did a test - 5dp5dt. BFN. It was a really cheap one, second wee of the day and far too early so trying not to read anything into it and just seeing it as knowing the trigger is out of my system.

Cobblestones · 12/05/2018 20:21

@picklesandpetals I had some light pain on day of EC more like dull period cramping. Nothing yest surprisingly. And then today I’ve had some slight pain. I used a hot pack and it subsided. I’m bloated from around 3 or 4 pm onwards. And it gets worse as the day wears on accompanied by nausea. Also constipated. All thanks to the meds we are on. I’m on cyclogest and pregynova (estrogen). They told me to expect some pain but nothing too serious. If it persists you should check with the hospital. Hope no bleeding? x
