I was actually pregnant last Christmas but anyhoo onwards and upwards.

Feeling a bit numb if I am honest but this maybe down to sleep deprivation owing to a pesky puppy. We are going to take it for its first walk tomorrow!

Blissfulignorance · 27/12/2017 13:03

I'm not even sure how to write this post.

I've always had negative thoughts to those who join a thread for less that a month and get pregnant. Just doesn't seem fair.

But I had a wonderful Christmas present and got a bfp. It was a total shock as I had no real symptoms apart from some late night nausea.

DH and I are taking each days as it comes and not getting too hopeful in case it all ends in mc again.

I really wish you all well and thank you for my warm welcome.

You know what they say cycle 17 is the charm?!

polkadotpixie · 27/12/2017 19:19

Congratulations Blissful! I think if it was cycle 17 no-one is going to begrudge you that BFP in your first month on the thread! Smile

FrauNeuer · 28/12/2017 01:15

Congrats blissful! That’s wonderful news - so pleased for you. Bear It’s lovely to hear some good news!

Hi babipotjam Smile I’m pretty new around here so don’t think we’ve said hi before.

Hope you’re doing ok kwick and hope the breakout has subsided. It took a few days after stopping the pill for my skin to return to normal.

Well, baseline scan today and everything seems fine. 1st injection of Ovaleap done tonight and it wasn’t at all bad! The worst part was getting over the actual act of jabbing myself with a needle. Seems rather counterintuitive! Back at the clinic twice next week for scans which is fabulous timing given that I’m starting a new job on Tuesday. Confused

And I almost forgot to say that I hope everyone enjoyed Christmas. We survived, ladies! Wink

kwick · 28/12/2017 17:44

Wowzers @Blissfulignorance!!! This is great news but we need photographic evidence by way of a POAS Grin

@FrauNeuer not sure if skin is clear... could be spots have been replaced by puppy bites and scratches...😬
WTF is Ovaleap when it is at home?
Well done on getting first 💉 out of the way!

I had my baseline scan at IVI London today - all good. Lining 2.4mm and ovary "quiet". Next scan and bloods on 9/1 which FET in Spain pencilled in for 15/1.
I asked the lovely nurse/sonographer if a review was likely to have taken place after my failed FET. She said in London this is routine but would check for Spain. Spain confirmed they do this too and I am all set to continue to plan so Cetrotide starts tonight and Progynova tomorrow.

FrauNeuer · 28/12/2017 18:40

Haha Ovaleap is an equivalent to Gonal-F. Sorry I should’ve explained that better! Blush You get a lovely injection ‘pen’ and a nice case to keep everything in. I really wasn’t expecting such aesthetics!

That’s good news kwick. So will they share the findings with you once you get across to Spain, or is the review purely for their own science-y decision making?

Oh and anyone know what depth of womb lining is considered normal at a baseline scan? Mine was 1.7 which seems very thin... Hmm

Blissfulignorance · 28/12/2017 18:52

As you wish @kwick

Thanks for all the congrats. It's still sinking in.

@Blissfulignorance what a wonderful line!!!! StarStarStar

frau they just review the failed cycle and decide if they want me to do anything different this time. Looks like not. I hope it is not that embryos incompatible with my body.

Jamon · 29/12/2017 13:55

Congratulations blissful wishing you a smooth healthy pregnancy 😊

Well done Frau the first injection is definitely the weirdest, it is counter intuitive! Hope stims continue well and do their thing. I believe womb lining is meant to be thin at baseline but I'm not sure exactly

Kwick very excited you're getting started again

Kate how you doing? Gee hope treatment going well for you. Hi everyone 👋🏼

Hey @Jamon all good thanks. Full of cold but had my lining scan and it measured 13mm which is good so we're on for he transfer late next week (as long as the embies thaw ok). Very excited and feeling positive. Been having weekly Acupuncture and got it twice next week so can't do any more really. How are you doing? Have your ohss symptoms all gone now?

Babipotjam · 30/12/2017 05:38

Congrats bliss...

Some of you may remember me as mew

20th of Jan have internal scan and am bricking it.

Jamon · 30/12/2017 12:57

That's great gee lovely lining. Very excited and optimistic for you.

Hello mew yes I remember you. What's the scan for?

Hello, I’d like to join you all if that’s okay?

I was on a similar thread last year on here as I was going through my first IVF on the NHS. I had a short protocol, got 6 eggs, 3 fertilised, 1 transfer and the other 2 didn’t make it as Frosties. Ended with a BFN.

Came off the contraceptive pill about 8 years ago and never had a BFN. Loads of investigations and in the end my tubes were the problem. Fat as chipolatas they were, left tube removed and right was salvaged.

After trying again naturally (consultant says there is still a chance of conceiving naturally with 1 tube) for a year and here I am again, waiting for AF to arrive any day now so I can start stimming.

We’re having IVF at REPROFIT in Brno through Your IVF Journey. I feel more mentally prepared this time around as I’ve done it once before and know what to expect... still I wish I didn’t have to go through this and with people around me popping out babies left right and centre isn’t helping. I’ve turned into a bit of a hermit and will be staying in my cave until after New Years!

Jamon · 30/12/2017 18:59

Hi Antonia you're very welcome, sorry you've had such a tough journey. I know the feeling of wanting to hide away in a cave! When does your second IVF cycle begin?

Hi Jam

Reading through this thread, looks like you’ve all had a tough journey too. Here’s hoping next year will be better for all of us Smile

Egg collection and egg transfer currently looking at 3rd week in January if things go to plan so fingers crossed! I can’t book flights or a place to stay yet until AF arrives.

I don’t think I’ve ever been in a position where I am hoping AF would hurry up and arrive before, it’s odd. I’m chomping at the bit to get started!

Babipotjam · 30/12/2017 22:31

Erm intern scan to check ovaries.
Then see consultant in feb. Am so nervous about it.

Hopefulbunny · 31/12/2017 15:33

Hi ladies ,

Just wanted to wish you all a very happy new year. Hopefully will plenty of BFP's. Hope you all doing okay.

Babipotjam · 31/12/2017 18:51

Yeah happy new year to you all. X feeling low but will push through

geeup · 01/01/2018 02:34

Happy new year to all. Let's all keep the faith that 2018 is our year. Xx

expatknitter · 01/01/2018 09:08

Happy new year! 🎉

kwick · 02/01/2018 06:58

@geeup that is an amazeballs lining! Well done!

@Antonia79 welcome!
Best of luck with this round of IVF! Brno is in Czech right? (Or as my cousin says and has taught her two adorable IVF twins to say: Czechia - which is where her husband is from). I have heard good things about Czech clinics.

@Babipotjam how are you doing my dear? Try not to worry too much about scan - it will be what it will be and knowledge is power 😬? Best of luck!

At my baseline scan on 28/12 I told nurse how all I had had of withdrawal bleed from microgyon was some spotting, and she was like, well at 2.4mm your lining is very thin, that is probably be it. Since afternoon of scan all I have done is bleed... fricking hope lining will be thick enough on 9th!!!
Going to do a castor oil pack today and start on fertility boosting/lining boosting food fest.

Happy New Year everyone!

geeup · 02/01/2018 08:17

Cheers @kwick. Am off to Acupuncture again this morning. Things I've been doing for lining (you're probably doing already):
Acupuncture once a week
Hot water bottle for 20 mins every other day (not boiling water)
Epsom salt bath for 20 mins, once maybe twice a week
Pom juice daily
Beetroot (in salad and drank the juice which was rank) daily
1 x Baby 75mg aspirin in the evenings, 1 hr clear on any other meds
Light walking for an hour most days
Good luck with building that lining!!!

Antonia79 · 02/01/2018 14:53

Hi @kwuik and thank you!

Yes it’s in Czech, I’ve heard a lot of good things about Reprofit so we decided to give it a go. Plus flights are pretty cheap from London and hoping to turn it into a mini ‘relaxing’ holiday too (as relaxing as much as I can anyway). I think I’m going to be there for 11 days Shock

Good luck with a lining building!

FrauNeuer · 02/01/2018 18:46

Thanks hopeful and expat - Happy New Year everyone. Let’s hope that 2018 is THE year for all of us. Flowers

Had 6 day scan today and I’m kicking myself because I didn’t ask any questions to the consultant! He seemed really happy with the way in which things are progressing and kept reading out numbers to the nurse (11 was mentioned a few times, so I guess that’s 11mm?!) No idea. Confused He said that there wasn’t a need to change the dosage of anything and I have to go back on Friday. I was so shocked that my useless body had actually done something well that I didn’t even think to ask!

Also started a new job today. Enjoying it so far but happen to be sitting next to a heavily pregnant woman whom I think is about 5 years younger than me. Sad A mixed bag, as always.

kwick hope the lining sorts itself out for you pronto.

geeup they’re some good tips! I had no idea you could do things to improve lining. Not long to wait until your transfer! Is the acupuncture helping?

babipotjam good luck with the scan. Hope you’re feeling better. Are they checking for pcos or just a general check?

Thanks jamon hope you’re doing ok.

Antonia best of luck for the egg collection and transfer!

Thinking positive thoughts for everyone. Smile

Babipotjam · 02/01/2018 20:17

kwick - erm its an internal scan to check ovaries etc.

DH having sperm check.

fray just a general check.

Just found out one of oldest friends have been told her and dh can’t have kids after failed ivf. Blindsided me a bit.
